RV Rental... what to do, what to do...

We have reserved a preferred campsite for my daughters graduation weekend in May, and also rented an RV through Greenberg. We will be bringing along our crate trained, well behaved mini American Eskimo. I am beginning to have serious reservations about Greenberg however; I saw what someone else posted on the boards and went to the BBB website as well as their FB page and their customer service seems a little appalling. Also it looks like they are actively trying to advertise for other campsites than Fort Wilderness... while that's fine it is all giving me serious pause. I have time to cancel and paid the $200 deposit ( which I have also read that customers have problems getting refunds)
Does anyone have any recent positive reviews? Or any other recommendations? I have checked out the Wilderness camper rentals, and they look promising. Thanks in advance!!!!

If it were me I'd book with someone else to be sure and take the chance on losing the $200.00.

I agree. If people are having trouble getting $200 refunds back, imagine what kind of trouble you are going to have if it gets cancelled right before your trip. $200 is a small portion of what goes into the entire trip, I'd risk losing that before I'd risk losing the entire trip (or many hours of sleep worrying about it between now and then!).

I also agree, cut bait with Greenberg now based on current findings and recent reports they aren't very reliable.

Look into Luxurious RV rentals or Meacham's instead.

Hi Skili9111, we have rented with Wilderness Camper Rentals a total of 2 times and have another reservation with them again this year. They have been awesome to deal with and the way they treat their customers is second to none. The Trailers we have stayed in are new and are always spotless. Give them a call you wont be sorry

Hi, I am the one you are talking about as far as Greenbergs and to stay away from them. Matt Greenberg cancelled my reservation on 12/23/17. I wanted to give his business time around the holidays because it may have been busy for them. Today I sent a email to their office with the email from Matt asking the status of our refund is. It has been 17 days and they sent me an email back stating that they take the requests in the order that they get them. so they are still processing it. call me silly, they are not THAT busy... it has been 17 days since he sent them the email to refund our $200! even if they closed the office from 12/24 - 1/2/18 ... it has been over a week! just another reason to stay away from them!

Greenberg Rentals? Ugh... My parents dealt with them a few years ago for our 2014 trip. First they failed to show up with the trailer at the time requested. My parents were able to hang out at my camper since they drove down with me. At one point my mother was wondering if the place flaked when she called and got a rude and short answer. After probably about 3 hours later, the trailer shows up and the 2 guys there to set up didn't seem to care what they were doing. The one that was able to speak English said they were late due to trailer repairs and cleanings. The trailer they gave them had a broken awning in which they could not fix. They didn't notify us there was going to be an RV tech to fix the awning who refuse to service the trailer since they had a dog that wasn't properly secured. Then his golf carts were something else. One of them was so slow that you could out walk it. They did replace that one with one slightly faster. The best one my parents used was Moore's Camper Rental but I think he is now out of business/ isn't dealing with Disney anymore. His staff was great to deal with. They had everything set up and ready for my parents. Enough about my experience....

If you used a Credit card which I suspect you did, if there is an E mail chain showing that Greenberg cancelled the rental. Even if you have something recorded or in writing that they are not responsive, I would still try to file a back charge Then I say have a back charge issued on the deposit. Amex will pretty much go to bat for you. After all that, file a complaint with the BBB and Disney about your experience. Quite frankly, I am surprised Disney just doesn't offer Trailer rentals to get into that cut as well. If they did that, I wonder if they would pull a golf cart rental move?

We did finally get an email back and say that they were going to send out the refund by Friday next week. And we did send a note off to the BBB and greenbergs is no longer a preferred company with Disney. I will wait and see if they send it out on Friday.

We have used Wilderness Camper Rentals several times and their service and prices outstanding. They are a small company but appear to be growing.
They now offer golf cart rentals with their trailers and said they had a new trailer coming sometime in Feb. They have very good reviews on Facebook.
It is well worth your time to check them out.

I did my rental through Wilderness Camper Rentals. Good prices, getting the golf cart at a great price too. Cant wait for our first trip to the fort

I've read some pretty awful reviews about Greenberg lately. Enough that it's had me looking elsewhere for our future trip. In saying that we rented in July and the experience was a really positive one. They arrived when they said the would, which was just as we arrived. They set the camper up for us and took us through it showing us everything we needed to know. The camper was in great condition. In all honesty, I can't think of any issues at all from the time we made initial enquiries to the time we checked out.

I keep getting ads for Outdoorsy RV rentals. I have no first hand knowledge of them. Has anyone used them or heard of them?

I hear you princessBelle39... I had no problem when I set up the rental I felt confident in our decision to rent from a preferred vendor for WDW... then Christmas Eve he posted on Facebook that it was a decision to no longer be a preferred vender for WDW and I asked why and that I was concerned... he then cancelled my reservation! That is all he had to do was tell me that he could still deliver the trailer and not to worry... nope... he cancelceled our reservation right then and there! To me that shows that he/his company is unstable and I wouldn’t want to risk my vacation on that. That is just me, everyone can do what they are comfortable with. Good luck in whatever you decide
And that was 12/24 and it is now 1/19 and still no return of our deposit

pxydst, we are definitely going with someone else next despite our successful rental last time. I hadn't heard a bad review until I read your post earlier on. It seems absolutely bizarre that they would do that. I began looking at other reviews and to be honest, apart from our own, I've been hard pressed to find a positive review. I think we are going to go with Meachams next time. Everything I've read about them seem really positive. And like you, our vacation time is just too important to risk. We are travelling from overseas which is expensive enough. If I had to come up with alternative accommodation without a refund, we'd be sleeping in a tent and eating baked beans for our entire stay. :)

@PixyDst, who have you decided to book with or haven't you found anyone yet. Any luck with your deposit?
@Skili9111 who did you finally book with and did you ever get your deposit back from GBs
Hearing more and more bad things about GBs on other sites as well so not sure what is going on with them.

We did book with Meachum’s. They are a preferred vendor and had the size RV we needed with 6 adults. We have 46 more days until we are in WDW and I will let you know how they are. So far it has been positive. If you pay the total balance when booking you get a free golf cart and delivers it with your RV..bonus ( that was the deal when we booked). No deposit seen from Greenbergs as of yet.. will give them till Friday and then we will follow up with the BBB to assist with this. I did write to the BBB but told them I did not want anything to be done since Greenberg owner said to staff in email to refund my deposit... so I will wait to see if that is true.

Of course, some people would call that perfect :D

I could deal with that but su re my wife would be none too happy with that. Till we got our RV to take our fur babies with us her idea of roughing it was the Hotel only had basic cable.

For OP never rented but had occasion to pass the idea by our TA Her recommendation is an out fit called MyRVHotel.com That is only outfit she uses for her guests Their website shows their inventory with floorplans and lists what comes with it.
