Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

Yeah, people think you are out of your mind for paying those rates so it's best to not mention it. :rotfl2:

I contacted DSS to add a room request to my GF ressie. This is the first time I have used them since I don't really need them to do anything and don't normally make room requests. I was very impressed...I got a response from them in less than 10 minutes...from a real person not an automated reply. :thumbsup2 They were probably so happy to get a request for something other than FP's. :rotfl2: Now to see if I get my request...to be continued...

I know when I called DSS yesterday, I had 2 questions that she hadn't had yet. CM seemed happy to have something to check on. They were probably getting tired of repeating the same information over and over and over....CM was really polite and patient. I give them extra credit on a day like that.

I have a DVC and club level question... I have had a nagging desire to buy into DVC for about a year now. The one thing that has kept me from doing so is CL. CL fits our touring style and I love the connivence of it. Roll out of bed for breakfast (oatmeal, mmm... love that oatmeal), desserts and drinks at night. Yum. Anyhow... I have read scattered reports that if you have a non-CL room at WL, that you can "add-on" CL. Not do a room upgrade, but just add on access to the lounge. And the speculation is because the number of CL rooms at WL is pretty tiny these days. Without further ado, my question:

Does anyone know if you can add the club level "add on" to WL DVC rooms (specifically Copper Creek)?

Thanks.

I don't think it's clear if they are even allowing the add on for regular Wilderness Lodge room, no one has confirmed since they changed the club level booking wording to "access," at least as far as I know (I am kind of hoping to upgrade from a regular room).

I have not followed the wording change at all, but I know there were a couple (like 1-2) reports on this thread of people being offered CL access when staying in a standard WL room. It was after the new lounge, I think early/mid 2017... But it must not happen very often (maybe you need to know to ask about it), because there are so very few reports of this.

I do intend to eat those lonely chips and drink a soda or two so I guess I'm living it up! We went from BC LV to YC GV CL. I figured for that price it was a no-brainer!

We upgraded last week with the new spring offer and went from AKL Standard View (rooftops and parking lot) to CL for $116/night. Not the best discount but something...So I figure for my family of 4 we need to eat about $29 worth of chips/night each, however the view is built in to CL so watching the giraffes is a bonus!

I think if you can add CL for around $100/night and have more than 2 people it can be worth it. We generally won't do it for just DH & I but if at least one of the kids is with us it makes more sense. Only time we splurged for 2 of us, we were there through Hurricane Matthew so we got our value then. Nothing like being confined to stick around and eat!

Oh, and I care less for the food (though I do like the food!) and more for the view at AKL! I just have to sit there and watch the giraffes!

Here is the list of eligible resorts/room types from what I’ve read:
  • Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge – Cabins
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge – Club Level
  • Disney’s BoardWalk Inn – Club Level
  • Disney’s Contemporary Resort – Club Level
  • Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa – Club Level
  • Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort – Club Level
  • Disney’s Polynesian Village Villas & Bungalows – Bungalows
  • Disney’s Wilderness Lodge – Club Level
  • Disney’s Yacht Club Resort – Club Level
  • Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels – Presidential Suites, Governor Suites, Parlor Suites, Premium Alcove Rooms
I assume that Cabin, Bungalow, and Swan/Dolphin suite guests contact DSS to book just like CL guests (but that’s an assumption on my part).
My question is. Where is the Beach Club on CL list.

I know - we had a tough time getting out of the room because we couldn't get off of the balcony! One of my favorite memories of that trip was waking up early alone with my coffee on the balcony and watching the giraffes wake up and stand! Back to food, my son can practically pull his weight just in breakfast pastry, so we can definitely get our value! Having the food/lounge must have been very handy during a hurricane - yikes!

Oops! Forgot DH & I did a 1 night stay AKL CL one time. I had the same experience though. We were getting ready to go eat and I went out on the balcony. Giraffes were walking toward our area of the resort. I had to grab my camera and DH had to about drag me out so we could make our ADR at Jiko!

Yeah, the hurricane stay was interesting. We're from upstate NY so while we can weather any snow storm , the hurricane was very different. Got lucky because it wasn't as bad as originally predicted for WDW. CMs were great in the whole resort and there was a party atmosphere for the most part. If we had to deal with one again, that's where I'd want to be.

As far as I’ve ever read or heard on the subject, DVC bookings are not eligible for any upgrades to obtain club access. However, Wilderness Lodge is implementing a program sometime in the next year that will allow a pay-per-use format to a special DVC Members-Only lounge area for use by CCV and VWL owners (sorry, I can’t bring myself to say BRV ;) ). Members will pay a certain amount for each night of their reservation in order to use the area for lounge access, but it will be different from the hotel’s lounge.

First timer question - for room requests, I should call DSS, correct? If I booked through a TA, can I call or does she need to? I know on our previous regular room stays my TA friend has had to handle all of that but if possible I'd like to deal with DSS directly. Thanks!!

Yes you can call or email DSS. Your TA doesn't need to do it I emailed them yesterday and received a response in less than 10 minutes.

I'm DVC and we were just informed that copper creek will have a CL type of lounge in the reunion station. It is going to be a paid thing so you don't have to pay if you don't want it but we didn't get any other details such as price, etc. I have to say we really love our DVC and CL so that's why we bought AKL as one of our home resorts. If you are serious, buy resale (direct prices are insane) then do a small 25pt add on via DVC to get all of the DVC perks.

Quick question :)
Where would I find the email address to DSS? I have the phone # but I'd rather email and I apologize if it's right in front of me and I'm missing it~TIA!
