Afternoon Waterpark break easy to do or not?

No direct buses to waterparks. To go to BB, you have to go to AK. To go to TL, it’s DS. The same for the way back.

Don’t forget the water parks don’t open until 10am. So rope drop isn’t as bad as the parks.

Someone else told me Epcot or DS to BB. AK was not mentioned. Which is it, or is it all three?

Opinions wanted:
if we are staying up at WL and taking that long bus ride to HS or AK, does it make sense too take a break at TL or BB in the mid afternoon, or will we find ourselves transfering bus after bus, then draging ourselves back in wet clothes to the parks and regret the idea?
Bus after bus, dragging yourselves back to the parks in wet clothes.

You could bring a change of clothes, and sometimes the bus ride itself gives you a break, time to unwind.
You can, and we did. The changing room conditions are not great. The bus situation is too arduous and long for a midday break. If you’re going to put yourself through it all, it needs to be a full day event. It’s not worth all of the inconvenience for a couple of hours.

If you are going to do it:

Uber/Lyft from the park to the water park

Bring a waterproof bag/Ziploc for swimsuits. If there are boys/men in your party, buy some of those "hybrid" swim shorts that can also be worn as regular shorts.

Rent a locker and towels at the water park.

Uber/Lyft back to the park.

Either stash your wet suits inside a backpack (inside the ziploc) or rent a locker for them for the evening.

This will be a breeze for any guys in your party. Literally, they will just need to remove their shirts, underwear, and shoes at the water park. Those hybrid shorts are amazing and dry in about 10 min so at the end of the water park time, they will be dry by the time your ride arrives. My husband and kids nhave several pairs each and you can't even tell they are swim shorts (neutral colors).

We do afternoon breaks at the water parks, but we have our own car. I think it would be a pain using the buses now, since there aren't direct buses.

Genius.

You don’t even have to rent towels. Grab some of the pool towels from your Disney resort and toss them in the dirty towel bin at the waterparks.

AK is definitely the connecting point to BB from the resorts. It only a 5 minute drive from AK to BB. Unfortunately from WL your bus will actually pass by BB to get to AK, then you have to wait for the bus to BB. Uber/Lyft would be quicker.

I did both waterparks last September. Just drove and got there for the park opening. The waterparks tend to build crowds as the day goes on. So if you are just wanting a park break, the hotel pool is an easier option if you are going to sun bath or splash around in the water.

What would be the best route to get to BB from Pop?

Via Disney bus, you have to take the bus to AK then transfer to a bus to BB. It's sort of silly since you effectively pass right by BB on the way to AK, but that's the way it is.

I'd opt for Uber/Lyft/Taxi if an option for you.

You either Lyft/Uber it directly there or take the AK bus then get the BB bus at AK.

The Disney buses just go back and forth from AK & BB. So you have to take AK bus from any resort first then transfer at AK.

Okay, that works. So AK then to BB and back again. Not too bad. It's going to be a day trip for us, so we really don't care. Thanks.

We have done mornings at a water park (there for opening) for a few hours and then gone to a park from there. We don’t find the water parks to be a full day thing, and by being there in the morning the crowds are lower so the lines are minimal.

We showered (not the best, but doable) at the park, put our wet stuff in a backpack, and rented a locker at the park to store everything. We found it worked well.

We have set aside a whole day for the water park. Wouldn't do 1/2 day, too frantic.
