This week's episode had me question the CM room access

Despite our back and forth it’s obvious that you have some genuine concerns. My view point is that Disney has an incredible compelling reason to ensure the security of their guests. My recommendation is that if you have specific concerns that you you discuss them with the front desk ( not on the phone). The procedures recently put into place aren’t meant as an intrusion into privacy. In fact the only real change is to DVC rooms. Otherwise the policy is as it always was. Except for the DND sign but a locked door expresses the same.

It's the CM's safety that I am deeply concerned about. There should be a buddy system (or something similar) if this new policy puts them at risk. No question that Disney has an outstanding record of safety (which also makes them an attractive target, unfortunately). I am not saying I would carry/use any weapon at Disney, but rather paint a deplorable scenario that is part of their risk assessment/planning.

Okay, so now stuff doesn't match up for me.

The OP is just NOW talking about an instance where someone came in his room? Nearly six pages in?

And "I am not saying I would carry/use any weapon at Disney" – when in the first post he said "I almost always have a baseball bat in my room" and spent other posts talking about items that could be used as weapons?

I just can't pretend to understand what's happening anymore.

I guess it comes down to the fact that I have more reliance on Disney security than you do. I am certain that it is a major part of parks management and that they have hired some premier talent to help manage the same. Likely some DoD individuals as you referenced. After all they hired a retired general to build WDW

Then why even start a thread asking what would happen if you assaulted someone coming into your room with a baseball bat?

OP: What if during a CM access (if someone was unaware they were entering or have entered) that someone challenges them? Then a sub-bullet mentioned that I ALMOST always have a baseball bat when staying in a hotel room.

"Not saying I would ever assault a cast member with a baseball bat – but IF I DID, would I be held liable?"

:confused3

IF is a scenario question, not just limited to me.

Remember, the context is not being able to discern a CM or an intruder.

Well, the question was specifically phrased as a "what if I did this" scenario.

Withholding so much context from the original question, trying to walk back multiple previous statements ... I've gotta call it quits on this thread.

Good luck, truly.

IF applies to any individual in the interest of risk assessment and potential threats a CM may encounter.
