Pop Century Room Renovations

I note the Disney website has been updated to state that some accessible rooms at Pop will have the queen bed and queen table bed. Just curious if anyone has noted any bumped out doors/wall in buildings 7 or 10?

There are not any changes being made to the structures of the actual rooms.
The Queen bed plus the Queen table bed is now the standard Pop room layout, post refurbishment.

I'll be interested to see how this works. Disney Queen/Queen Wheelchair accessible rooms in the moderates and even the full/full setup at AOA in the LM section had to bump out the door for accessibility. If they are eliminating the King/double at Pop (at the website is alluding) will there be no accessible family rooms anymore? I've seen the videos of the newly renovated rooms I can't see a wheelchair being able to get past the end of the Inova bed when it's open.

Yikes - we hadn’t planned on this and we Only had our jeans that we had on - no capris or shorts. I finally persuaded them to deliver it ASAP.
Always, always, always, always, always pack what is needed for the first 24 hours at a destination. You never, ever know when the airline will misdirection your luggage.
Well, I thought since we landed at 8:30 or thereabouts that they would just bring it to our room by 11:30 or so.
No. Luggage is delivered up to three hours after you arrive at the resort, not three hours after your plane lands.
Should I do 70s and lake view or 70s and high floor?
Which is most important to you? How much time do you plan to spend on the walkway outside your room, looking at the lake? Or in your room, looking out the window as numerous guests walk by (and glance in?)

King+double=130" total width.
Queen+queen=120" total width.
If king/double fit in a Pop room, so will two queens.

Hi all-- I'm staying at Pop for the first time, and using Magical Express for the first time, and I have a couple of questions. I was skimming through this thread and it looks like the '70s section is still being refurbished? We arrive on 2/1-- will there be any refurbished rooms available in that section by then, do you think? Also, if we carry on our bags (backpacks), are we able to keep them in our possession on ME, or do they have to be stowed? I'm hoping we'll be able to hold onto them so we don't have to worry about them being delivered to our room. Thanks in advance!

We're checking in tomorrow. MDE request 70s , 80s and TP fax for renovated 70s, 80s. Hope we get a new room (I love my husband, but don't love sleeping while touching a nuclear furnace. Hoping for a queen bed). I'll try to figure out the status of renovations & share here.
(also, the baggage info above was enlightening on why not to let DME take--we'll just have next day clothes in our carry on & not worry about when the big stuff arrives)

How did you request "renovated" 70's or 80's on TP? With an added note? I totally share the nuclear furnace problem and would not deem it a vacation if we had to sleep in a double bed. I couldn't figure out TP's room request page with the specific views. Queens were not a choice, but I'm afraid to select double standard for fear of actually getting one!

Also, we'll have two rooms, one with a baby who will hopefully be asleep before our luggage arrives. Can we just call bell services and have it all delivered to one room, so as not to wake the baby? We land at 6:30 PM. Hoping we'd get our bags by 10, but I know from past experience, it sometimes takes longer.

A portion of the 70's section is definitely complete and it sounds like the entire section might be complete based on today's information.

Any bags that you take with you on ME will be your responsibility to take off the bus. Larger bags and strollers are stored below the bus and smaller bags/backpacks can be brought on the bus with you if you wish.

Luggage with MDE luggage tags that MDE transfers from the airport, comes in a truck separate from the bus.

I think I’m gonna stick with the high floor. I also requested one room with a lake view that’s on the highest floor so we will see.

May I request that someone who is there and has the time please take a look at building 6 in the 70's section (the building close to the lake) and update on it's status. We have people reporting different statuses today and we'd like to update page 2 if needed.

Thanks so much!

The king/double option didn't fit into one value room footprint. It was two guaranteed connecting rooms. One room had a king bed with needed WC accessibility features (especially bathroom) and the connecting room was technically a standard double/double room and (at least at All-Star Sports) the "connecting room" wasn't even numbered.

We have a long ways to go until our trip but I am really hopeful that they have figured a way to do the two queens in an accessible room (or maybe do something akin to the CR and keep them full beds). I would prefer to stay in a setup that has me in same room with kids. But I adore the solid surfacing floor and pretty much everything about the standard refurbed room and the kids are sold on the Pop overall theming and Mickey and Pluto in the room. What makes me anxious is I haven't yet heard of anyone staying in an accessible refurbed room and the first ones were supposed to have opened 4 months ago.

Have you tried creating a new post on the accessibility board or resorts board asking if anyone has stayed in one of the refurbished accessible rooms at Pop? Possibly there is someone who has stayed there but is not part of this thread. Hope you’re able to get answers to your questions before you travel.

Just to be clear.

Are there any non renovated rooms still open in the 70s building? Will be staying the 2nd week of February and want to request rooms correctly.

No, all rooms in the 70’s section are either refurbished or currently closed for refurbishment. (We’re waiting for someone at Pop right now to confirm if the entire 70’s section is open or not as we’re receiving different information from different people).

I apologize in advance if my question has been asked a million times. I looked through a few pages but I am hoping someone will take a moment to answer. What sections have been renovated? 90’s, 80’s and finishing 70’s? Does anyone know a projected completion date for all sections? I have convinced my family to consider the POP now that there are queen beds. We have stayed in 2bedroom condos at Bonnet Creek the past few trips and have become used to the extra space and kids having their own beds/bedroom. Hoping to get 2connecting renovated rooms.

Look at post 2 on the first page. It stays updated whenever new information is found on renovations.
