How much money can they possibly be saving?! Iger can't squeeze that much more money out of the parks.
I'd say so. Often 45-60 minutes or more. Can be shorter during slower times of course. Are lines usually long to see him? Trying to decide if I should try to squeeze in a visit when we go in Feb.
The heads are also incredibly heavy for Cast to wear."Talking Mickey" is actually a huge expense compared to the amount of "return" per number of guests.
The venture takes a multitude of CMs with specialty training to operate each "Talker."
Whether they decide to continue TM or not, I always though that it was kind of foolish to spend that kind of personnel budget on such a limited attraction.
You could get an FP for that. Are lines usually long to see him? Trying to decide if I should try to squeeze in a visit when we go in Feb.
FP is available but there is never a guarantee Mickey will be talking when you meet him.Are lines usually long to see him? Trying to decide if I should try to squeeze in a visit when we go in Feb.

This is kind of a dumb cost cutting move though. He’s incredibly popular.
Oh I know but Disney was once a company where that didn’t matter. It was about the guest experience not ROI. There are other areas they could have cut first. People go crazy for meet and greets. What other attraction takes that many CMs and also accommodates so few guests per hour?
And, all of those CMs are still on the clock even when the Glitches pop up and Mickey goes mute.
And, let's not forget, (just using the posts on this board) for every "We LOVED him!" reaction, there were at least as many "He was CREEPY!" opinions.
Or "Sorry Mickey has a sore throat today" to which I say "He sure gets sick a lot " ....................
My adult kids thought he was creepy and kinda ruined it for them.
I found the "canned" responses disappointing.
I'm fine with this.
I was wondering if this could be the cause. People using a FP or waiting in line to meet talking Mickey only to be disappointed or upset that he's not talking.FP is available but there is never a guarantee Mickey will be talking when you meet him.

We met him once. We found him really creepy. We definitely prefer non talking Mickey.

Yup. My personal rate of Mickey having lost his voice is 30%. Still, talking Mickey was special and will be missed. Was always our first stop in MK. I’m disappointed in Disney.
