Disney's CORONADO SPRINGS RESORT Information & Questions

Hi, I have a few questions for those who have stayed there recently (in the last couple of months):
1. did CSR feel "resorty" or did looking at the construction make it seem not relaxing in any way?
2. what building are they refurbishing now?
3. what snack credit options are available at Rix and Pepper Market at breakfast time? At POR last year, we were able to get sides for a snack credit each, as well as cappuccinos for snack credits. We'll have the DXDP and will likely not have other times of day to save snacks for, we're also doing an adults trip light on parks, so not looking to use snack credits at the park.

Just back from a quick stay. (spent most of the 2 weeks at DD apartment, but spent last two nights for a treat & to use Magical Express)
We were in Casitas 3 newly renovated room and it was great! Only thing I will need to get used to is flooring and no more carpet. Just feels odd. Much too cold to swim, so we didn't take advantage of being near the quiet pool. Rix Lounge was being renovated to become a larger "sports bar" theme. I'm disappointed in that, as we really liked the vibe of the old Rix. Pepper Market had a makeshift bar set up to make limited drinks in the evenings. We really liked the choices for quick service, including the café with fresh baked items. We tried Maya Grill our last night and really enjoyed it. The red snapper was delicious (sauce on the side was no problem) and the service was excellent. LOVED the Keurig option! Enjoyed a cup of tea at night. I'll remember to pack some of my own Kcups next time!

We are new to Coronado Springs as well, or we will be in April! I am really having a hard time choosing a section to request. Of course we would love to get a refurbished room (for me) and be near a pool (kids 12 and 5), but we really don't like trying to fit into a crowded bus. We hated the buses last year at POFQ and will never stay there again because of them. It sounds like the buses at CSR are usually nice, so we thought Cabanas would work, but is that not the case with the ongoing construction? I am already a little hesitant to ask for Cabanas given the level of tower construction that might be going on by April.

Any suggestions?

We frequently stay at POFQ and I will say, the buses at POFQ are much better than CSR in terms of crowds and how long it takes to actually get somewhere! We weren't in a hurry so it didn't matter to us, but if time was a priority to you, you will be adding a good hour to your adventures.

We've stayed at CSR a couple times at different times of the year. We've had good and bad bus experiences both times. Once on the bus, the trip to any of the parks is very reasonable because of the central location of the resort. We have had some ridiculous wait times and some very packed buses. However, I will say that the bus has never been as packed as POR where they continue to cram people in until there is absolutely no possible way to move and it definitely does not feel safe. We've never stayed at POFQ, but hope to give it a go sometime in the future. All of that is to say, don't pick a resort based on the buses alone. You can have good, or bad bus experiences at any resort.

I am sure our experience at POFQ was unusual given the reviews I've read. When we were there, the buses were shared between POR and POFQ. POR was picked up first, so we stood for every bus, every morning, to every park. Not to sound nit-picky, it's just that I had a 4-year with me who had a difficult time staying balanced on the long rides and was once thrown to the floor. Not really the resort's fault, but now I know that bus order matters! So I'm torn between trying to get closer to Bus stop 2 and trying to be near the main pool. Either way I know we will have a great trip. I've never been to CSR, but the pictures are beautiful!

I don't think that's nit picky at all. It's part of the kind of thing that I was referring to with our POR experiences. Gorgeous resort, terrible bus situation and we rarely even went to POFQ to pick up. You have a great attitude going into CSR. Have a great time!

Hey everyone, I just changed my ADR from The Boathouse to the Yachtsman Steakhouse on 02-01-18 and I was wondering what is the best way to get to the Yachtsman from CSR? Uber, Taxi, Disney Bus....... Thank you in advance.

It would be easier to get a taxi or use Uber. If you get the bus to Hollywood Studios you could either walk to the resort or get the friendship boat to the yacht club, I suppose it depends on the weather as well.

Or just drive ourselves I guess since we will have our car. I really wanted to park and not drive the whole trip.

I would definitely use Uber/Lyft. It is a very short trip and not worth driving or hassling with Disney transportation IMO.

Someone talk me off the ledge - or confirm my fear. We are booked for CSR in 59 days ...so March Break-ish. I am reading a lot of negative comments about the buses - I've been good with Disney transport at AKL, POR and CBR (the wait doesn't bother me). I'm concerned about the overcrowding - my little guy 6 has mild autism and (if overtired) may melt down if he and his sister aren't "safe" in a seat. I'm thinking about switching to POR or POFQ ... but was really excited about the pool/rec area at CSR. Also concerned as Peppertree may be under some partial Reno during our stay.

How bad is it?

I've only been during "slow" times, but I've never had a problem with the buses being packed. Yes, I've waited 20 minutes for a bus a few times, but outside of peak times, I haven't seen anyone have to stand. I think the biggest factor to how packed the buses are is timing. If you're late sleepers and you leave around 10:30, you're much less likely to see a packed bus. Same goes for getting on a bus as soon as the nighttime shows finish. If you travel during peak times, you're going to run into crowded buses at nearly all of the resorts.

Perfect! No - we don't rope drop. And we generally only make 2 nighttime shows tops during our week! You put my mind at ease.

Ok I’m confused. Just got off the phone with a cast member who said they are not renovating existing rooms they are building a new block of rooms(dvc?)
So I’m lost on Reno rooms- he said they have all been done in a recent Reno not currently.

So was he just wrong?

That CM is confused. That’s Caribbean Beach, not CSR! ;)

A lot of CM's are clueless and even worse, when they are , they give out incorrect information unknowingly anyway. None of the CM's you talk to through central reservations are actually at "DisneyWorld" and probably are not "kept in the loop" as far as WDW pertinent info is concerned . They are generaly last to know about WDW projects and usually hear about the latest happenings at WDW from informed guests ......sadly .
Trust what you hear about "real time" WDW happenings right here at the DIS !

They are still currently refurbishing the current rooms at CSR , AND they are building an entire new resort on property (mostly as a convention venue) . Both projects are ongoing right now at CSR .

CBR is the resort getting a new DVC addition .

One thing about Uber is not having a car seat for my 4 year old. Are the Minnie Vans operating at CSR? I know they have car seats.

Ahh. The Minnie Vans have not rolled out past the deluxe resorts yet.

Will you be going to the Yachtsman your very first night? I have read that if you go to bell services at some of the deluxe resorts they may give you the Lyft code to activate the services.

Driving is probably your next best option. Going on a bus to HS then taking the boat/walking to YC or a bus to Epcot then taking the boat/walking to YC will take at least an hour.

Yall tell me if this could be a good plan. We get to CSR around 2 or so on our first day, we then take a Disney Bus to Disney Springs to do some shopping then take a bus to Yacht Club for dinner at the Yachtsman. Then could I go to the front desk at Yacht Club and get them to set up the Lyft app to get a Minnie Van back to CSR? That seems like it might work out great! I wanted to at try the Minnie Van service while we are there and that just might be a good way.
