Granted, it was an electronic music/rave themed cruise.
I'm not sure how their taste in music is relevant. I like electronic/trance/dance/rave type music and have never touched an illegal drug in my life.
Or didn't get caught, or perhaps waited to buy drugs onboard or at the board. The vast majority of guests sailing on that cruise likely weren't carrying any illegal drugs.

Wait... wasn’t alcohol illegal when jazz came out?You can't disagree that drugs are more ubiquitous in the EDM scene than they are in Pop or Jazz music. I'm not saying the latter two don't have their issues, but I've not seen a tremendous amount of Ecstasy or Adderall at Spirogyra gigs...
I usto Love Spirogyra, then I started to listen to Barney...Yup Barney in the car to stop/avoid motion sickness. You can't disagree that drugs are more ubiquitous in the EDM scene than they are in Pop or Jazz music. Do any of you guys have a problem with the sheriffs office comment about targeting the cruise due to this stereotype. I get law enforcemrnt is hard, and I have no problem with them enforcing the law, but I would be pissed if I was subject to extra searches because I liked a certain kind of music. Just saying.
While I see your point, I think it's a matter of viewpoint. I wouldn't be any more annoyed than I am at the TSA counter having to take off shoes and get a pat-down. They are just trying to keep me and all the other safe. With regards to targeting a type of music, you don't know that they don't also target other types of music, but only that they targeted this. Getting drugs off the ship is a good thing, in my opinion.Do any of you guys have a problem with the sheriffs office comment about targeting the cruise due to this stereotype. We all have rights to be innocent until proven guilty, but we also have rights to feel safe in our environment, so we give police the leeway to do their jobs.
No. I'd say they were doing their job...properly. it's not like they didn't find drugs.
Don't fool yourself... TSA targets people, but then adds in a few obvious non-targets so they don't get in trouble for profiling. My kids were both "randomly selected" for a pat-down on my last trip. And about 10 people in front of us some middle eastern men were also "randomly selected".
