As per Spectrum News 13 (this is a Central Florida Cable News Channel)

Guests staying at some Walt Disney World resorts will soon have the option of buying additional FastPass+ reservations.

  • Guests will be able to buy additional Fastpasses
  • Available to guests staying in select resorts, in club-level rooms
  • Option will costs $50 per person, per day
A Disney spokesperson confirmed the information with Spectrum News 13 on Tuesday.

The FastPass+ deal will be offered separately to guests who book a stay in a club-level room at select resorts.

The additional Fastpasses will cost $50 per person, per day, according to Disney. So for one guest who wants to add the option for three days, the additional FastPass+ reservations would cost $150. In order to add the extra option, guests must get it for a minimum of three days, according to Disney.

Guests will have the chance to add the option after making their reservation.

The Fastpasses can be used at any park; however, guests will make selections at the time of booking.

Disney says it plans to roll out the program Friday, but stresses the option is just a pilot program.

The FastPass+ service, which enables guests to make advance reservations for select rides and shows, is free with theme park admission.

I can care less. There enough we get in what we want each trip.

Will be great for the one in a lifetime travelers that really don’t know anything to make it easier for them. Will help to make their pockets lighter also while walking aimlessly throughout the parks.

Unfortunately, this doesn't really give enough information. Will they (and I do mean THEY, coz I ain't doin' it), be able to get unlimited FP+, just one more per day, can they get them at multiple parks for same day, does it do away with the Tiers, etc? Sorry, but "buy additional" doesn't say enough.

Once again, Disney throwing something out there without thought or planning, because I'd bet good money they don't really know what their going to allow either.

I think that idea that they still have to be booked in advance makes it not something people will jump on. If it were something that you just showed at each ride and you got it, then it might be worth it. But when you have to book them in advance, you will still be limited by availability and the rule that you can only have one FPP in each hour time slot.

I'm kind of (pleasantly) surprised they didn't do this years ago. Places like Six Flags don't offer ANY free FP+ to any guests. You want it, you're paying for it. They call it FlashPass, and it's ridiculously expensive. The fact that WDW still does it for free is fantastic. From another thread here, I know a lot of people feel that WDW is only out for money. I think this shows that's not completely true. They could charge for FP+ for all guests, and could have for years and years. Yet, they don't and even this sounds like a premium option, not a must buy.

But it doesnt say just how many FPs you can buy. Im curious!

And! I wonder if there are restrictions such as excluding Flight of Passage...you know, the high demand rides. It wouldnt surprise me anyway!

I think this is ridiculous....but you know what? People will pay! And they're smart to offer it to club level only. I personally would never pay for extra FPs.

According to this article, it is 3 and you also get an additional 30 days for FP booking.

We're usually satisfied with the first 3, it wasn't until this past Nov trip that we started grabbing a 4th. We do a park at RD then hop to WS for Food&Wine so the 4th is waiting for us there before we even leave the morning park.

From the article:

The additional, paid FastPasses can be booked as far out as 90 days in advance, the cast members said, instead of the usual 60 days for resort guests, offering access to the most popular attractions before anyone else.

Now this part sucks.

Two important bits: It gives people who get this 30 extra days (90 instead of 60) to book in advance, and it requires a 3 day minimum purchase (so really minimum of $150 per person before tax)

Do you honestly believe that a corporation like Disney just throws out business ideas with no planning and no real idea what they're doing? You may not LIKE what they do, but I would not believe for a single second that they just toss random ideas out there on a whim.

To me the 90 day booking window is the real value here because giving additional fastpasses at 60 days doesn't really give you that much of an edge, you still will have a hard time getting a FOP FP regardless if you're CL at GF or standard at All-Stars. The other big one, which I have not seen confirmed, is if there will be the ability to book the additional 3 in a different park because that is huge value to me as well. Not that it really matters, because CL is not in my budget anyway.

It's an interesting business model and I'm actually very curious why they just wouldn't increase the nightly rate for all CL rooms and include it automatically, I think the revenue intake would be much higher in that scenario.
