Craft beer drinkers unite

Well that's a little disappointing. Will be on the Fantasy in late February , hoping for a little variety. Signed up for the beer tasting already. Will be picking up some beer in Cocoa Beach and hopefully in the ports (St. Maarten and St. Thomas).

Can you update on the beer tasting when you get back? Last time we did it there was nothing craft in there (we had Blue Moon, Stella, Guinness and something else I can't remember) and I don't want to waste the time/money on our April cruise if the menu isn't more interesting.

I definitely will, I did one on the Wonder last May, all I can remember there being right now was Ayinger Celebrator Dopplebock.

I just looked under our cruise activities on our upcoming cruise on the Fantasy in April and there is no beer tasting listed. Tons of other tastings, whiskey, bourbon, tequila, Amari, wine, cognac, but no beer. My husband is bummed since he really wanted a beer tasting. Was the one you signed up for listed under on board activities?

You will be able to sign up for it on board. Check the Navigator you receive at check-in and it will tell you where to go for sign ups. Usually it's La Piazza.

I found it on the Castaway day under onboard activities at 430. I guess I hadn't checked that day previously for some reason. thank you.

Depending on what time you leave Castaway Cay on your trip, that tasting may be on the island instead of onboard. I know the Mojito class usually is.

I saw the mojito tasting at 230 and was thinking it was strange but now that I know it is on the island and not on the ship it sounds pretty cool. Was it at serenity bay?

I don't think so. I think it's out at the bar by Pelican Plunge.

I did a beer tasting on the Dream on Castaway Cay day, in August 2016. It was on the ship. I was the only one there but it was great! I got 2 sets of beer because there was supposed to be another person, and the bartender was making up beer cocktails :-)

I just did the beer tasting on the Fantasy on Castaway Cay day this last week. The beers we had were: Red Stripe, Dukes Brown Ale, Ricard Strawberry (tasted like a wine cooler) Castaway IPA and Guinness. The tasting was at 4:30 after we got back on board on O'Gills pub.

Thank you! Not too bad. Do you happen to remember any of the other craft - ish beer that was on board?

There were a couple places that had Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale (I think from Alltech Lexington Brewing) that I thought was decent. I had never seen that one before. Also had Heavy Seas Loose Cannon IPA on the pool deck. It was definitely mostly macro brews though so I took advantage of beginning a 6 pack on board at Port Canaveral and then made another mixed 6 pack and the Mega store on Cozumel.

Next time you're in Cozumel, go to Cervezaria Internacional, across the street from MEGA. You can mix a six of some really interesting stuff there.

I saw that Cervezeria Internacional across the street and thought it was a bar! I wish I had gone to check it out. I was still pleasantly surprised at what Mega had but I'll be going across the street next time. Thanks!

Lance, do you recall if they still had Bell’s Two Hearted in bottles? I find that to be drinkable at least.

And a second for Cervezeria Internacional in Cozumel! Super friendly people and we found some surprisingly good beers to bring back on board!

For the tastings on the Fantasy on CC day, the Mojito is on the island, at the heads up bar near the Pelican Plunge. Super fun and so beautiful on CC. The Beer tasting is onboard. I had both booked, but I cancelled the beer tasting. Glad we did as were were one of the last to board the ship on CC day (definitely a result of the Mojitos!!!)
