Still specific pet loops with new pet policy?

Hi all,

We are just travelling through Disney this spring and will reserve a site for two nights. I know in the past there were specific pet loops designated but I'm wondering if all loops are now pet friendly? Need to make the reservation and want to make the right choice for the ressie. Maybe it doesn't matter anymore and I should just call Disney about having a pet after we make the reservation? I haven't found specific information in regards to Fort Wilderness except about the cabins. Just wondering if the campground still follows pet-only loops still. Also trying to be as close to the cabins as we can as other family members will be staying there.

Thanks in advance!

The best way to try and get close to your family while you stay there is to link your reservations together. It also depends on the level of site you reserve. If you reserve a preferred level site you would be at the other end of the Fort no matter what, as that is where those loops are located.

Thank you - that's what I wanted to be sure about. Looks like loop 1100 would be the closest if we asked for their cabin to be in loop 2300. That would make it a premium campsite I think? Not preferred - those seem closer to the marina if I'm reading the map right? I imagine it is not an uncommon request.

Right on all questions.

There is a bag dispenser in loop 100 for doggie doo and it was not a traditional pet loop in the past. So I take that to mean it's wide open now.

PS - I just got home today from a stay in 100.

I think they really try to accommodate you but in our experience, it was better on day of arrival. I would definitely request upon making ressie tho. So if they have availability and you aren't happy with your site they will do whatever they can to accommodate. They had put us in a site close to but not in original loop we wanted but it was so tight and small (we camp in a small RV but this was small!) that sitting on the picnic bench you could almost reach over and touch the camper next to us, also no trees dividing the sites. We drove our camper back to the front desk and asked for another site, asking about certain ones we saw open in the loop we originally wanted and luckily were able to get a fantastic spot, I mean it was beautiful! large, private, right on canal OMG was it gorgeous. Just thinking about it makes me swoon, I really need a Fort fix very soon! hehe.

You can also call the front desk if you get to your site and it doesn't seem to fit your liking. We've done this before and was easier than driving back to the front desk by a long shot. You can just identify a few sites you like that are empty and call them and run the list by them and see if they are available. If they are you can just grab them quick.

Thank you all for the helpful information. We're excited about testing the Fort with our RV!
