Disney's CORONADO SPRINGS RESORT Information & Questions

I stayed in 8A for my first trip at the resort in December and that was Stop 4.

The stops appeared to have been labeled as:
1: El Centro
2: Casitas
3: Ranchos
4: Ranchos and Cabanas (Outside 8A)

The Theme Park busses entered the resort and stopped at:

2: Casitas (First)
3: Ranchos (Second)
4: Ranchos and Cabanas (Outside 8A) (Third)
1: El Centro (Fourth)

The El Centro bus stop seemed to have been moved to a temporary location because of the construction so I am not sure if this is the norm/permanent during construction, but it was different than what I had seen posted online.

So this is where I’m getting confused. Is the information at the beginning of this thread outdated or incorrect?

WDW Transportation

Like all properties within the Walt Disney World Resort, Coronado Springs is serviced by WDW Transportation. The only transportation option available at this location is the bus. However, Coronado is one of the few resorts on property that does not share buses with any other resort. There are 4 stops around the resort:

Bus stop 1: El Centro
Bus stop 2: Cabanas
Bus stop 3: Ranchos
Bus stop 4: Casitas

However, the buses DO NOT visit the stops in that order. When the THEME PARK (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom) buses enter the resort they proceed to Bus stop 2, then 3, then 4, and lastly 1. When the DISNEY SPRINGS buses enter the resort they proceed to Bus stop 1, then 2, then 3, then 4. The thought process behind this transportation strategy is that you can hop on a THEME park bus to go to El Centro and then hop on a DISNEY SPRINGS bus and return to your room.

It looks like they got Casitas and Cabanas mixed up. I don't think the buses have ever gone that direction around the resort, as they'd be on the wrong side of the road to pull into the stops.

We're staying at Coronado Springs end of January, preferred room. Which type of room should I request, to get a refurbished one? Thanks!

This is the correct information.

Hey all! First time posting in awhile and looking forward to heading back to CSR. I checked the first page and then read the last few pages, but didn't see a definitive answer to my question. What is the current status of refurbished rooms, as in which buildings are done and is there an end date in sight for full completion of existing rooms? Thanks!

Touring Plans is listing the transit times to the parks as:

MK 23
Epcot 20
HS 18
AK 18

Does this seem about right on average?

I know it will take longer because you have to wait for the bus and make stops around the resort first before leaving, but does the actual drive time seem correct? I’m trying to figure out about when we need to leave each day.

Thanks

Hi,
Planning a trip for the fall of this year. Last visit was 2015, and we stayed in building 9A and loved it. We were hoping to request the same this trip, but now reading about construction, wondering if thats a really bad idea. There will be 14 of us, and having the small quiet pool so close would be ideal for the littles to unwind before bed.

MK seems about right. But the other parks are probably half of what you listed.

Nice to know. I was worried it might be a lot longer. I’m use to staying places where the bus ride ends up being 30 - 40 minutes to at least one park. 20 minutes just seemed so quick.

Thanks for the info!
So even if the pool closes at 8pm so does the hot tub? that seems awfully early for a hot tub and there is no way he will get to use it then. I know this is a Coronado page and I haven't stayed there yet so I hate to judge poorly but I am really wishing more and more I would have just went with our usual stay at Pop. The hot tub was a "selling" feature to get my husband to upgrade. I hope once I'm there I will feel better about it and be proven wrong.

Not to burst your bubble but we have stayed at CSR several times (just booked this morning for arrival Jan 18th) and the hot tub was never really "hot" on any of our stays (more like warm). Hope it has changed since our last stay but that has been our experience. I, too, am looking forward to a hot tub (it is currently a blizzard and 7 degrees here in NY).

Actual travel times not including waiting for the bus are about:

MK: 15-18 mins
EPCOT: 8 mins
DHS: 6 Mins
AK: 8 Mins

CSR is very central to everything.

Thanks, we’ve stayed here before, but it was ages ago. I remembered the bus ride not being bad, but I had read so many negative reviews of the buses here now, that I was afraid that had changed.

We've spent about 75 days at CSR between 2010 and 2016. Usually I would argue that CSR has the best bus service of any resort on WDW property.

However our last stay was Dec. 2016 just before construction started so I can't say for sure if the construction has had any impact on the bus service.

We have booked a water view room. Can anyone tell me what might be the best to request that is close to a bus stop and a pool? Thanks in advance!!
