Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Well I finally got it all figured out. Not my original plan but one that is just as good. I was on the phone several times and the last cm was so awesome found flaws in my reservation that I would never have seen. So this is what I have booked. Arrival on May 4th staying at PO Riverside for two nights. Then on Sunday May 6th moving to Yacht Club club level with a lagoon view. By cutting off two nights at YC and finding flaws in reservation I saved over $1500. The flaws were that they had my son who is 11 and his friend who is also 11 as adults. I save over $400 at YC and $150 at POR by changing the kids from adults.

We have never stayed at either resort so if anyone has any recommendations please pass them along. It was a lot to figure out but well worth it in the end. How is the Regatta lounge different from the BC?

Disney classifies anyone over 9 as an adult. Were they charging the extra adult room fee to your account?

Hi YC/BC folks! :wave2: I have not researched this question so please forgive me... figured I’d go straight to the experts.

DW is running the marathon on Sunday and staying at YC. She has had to change her plans to fly back home Sunday night.

My question, what are the potential showering/changing options at YC after check-out time? Did I read that they put in showers at SAB sometime recently? Is changing at the gym an option?

Appreciate any help/feedback. :thanks:

I know you received an answer to your question. Just want to

:welcome: you to the thread.

Hi, booking did not go as planned. I am booking under a cast member friends and family discount. We originally we planning to stay at the BC CL. Tried booking this morning and it would not let us book. When we went back in to book it the discount for the Beach Club dropped to 25% instead of the normal 40%. We were able to book at the YC CL with the 40% off. We are booked in a standard room but I really want a lagoon view. It is a price difference of $1600. Would you go with the lagoon view or stay with the standard and upgrade our passes to annual? Also we have never stayed at the YC I will have two 12 year old boys with us will they be ok. We stayed at the BC last time and absolutely loved it. HELP!!! It would be for May 4th to May 12th.
For all my Nor-Eastern DIS board friends, be safe out there. Sounds like the next few days will be very dicey from a weather and travel perspective. For all those down at the Mouse pad in Orlando, sorry for your luck on the weather, unless you are Canadian and then you will be able to have SAB all to yourselves.

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list. May 6-12 YC CL LV, following 2 nights at POR?

:woohoo:

The lounges at YC and BC should essentially be the same, both are run by the same management team and as far as I know, have the same food and drink offerings.

Check out Page 1, Post 12 for info and lots of pictures of the lounge. For info and tips about the resort, take a look at Page 1, Post 1- Intro, Post 13- FAQ, Post 14- Other Useful Info and Post 9- Yacht Club rooms

Thanks so much for the good wishes.

If I hear the term "BOMBOGENESIS!" one more time from news anchors or weather forecasters I'm going to scream. Actually, have switched from storm coverage to cooking shows.

Snow just started here a couple of hours ago, but it is coming down fast.

We are hunkered down here- Mark is home from work, both boys home as well.

Teena and Lily are currently at WDW and not impressed with the record low temps!

Stay safe to all my friends around the country in the path of the storm or record cold weather!

Here now! Arrived ahead of the snowstorm for marathon weekend & got message that my kiddos have a snow day today while in flight!

First time @ BCCL in a 1nt comp rm before moving to a deluxeclrm today. After our not so great yccl stay a couple years ago I'm very impressed and dh who never wanted to stay at bc because "it's too much like home" is also very happy.

DD & I have the 10K tomorrow!

Enjoy your trip!!!

Good luck with the 10K tomorrow!

Yes for the room they were charging them as adults. I knew about the dining anyone over 9 is a adult. We stopped doing the dining plan because my son is not going to eat $75 dollars a day in food. It saves me quite a bit of money going club level with the cm discount.

YeeHaa Bob performs several nights each week at the River Roost at POR, playing the piano and signing songs. Your son and his friend might find him entertaining.
Thanks. I saw that and was planning a night to hang out grab a cocktail and listen to him. We do the parks a lot but also like to enjoy the amenities at the resorts. We go often and have learned to also relax while we are there.

I am here again trying to get the layout of the YC. I was looking at touring plans room views (I know they are not accurate). We are cl lagoon/pool view does anyone have any suggestions where to request a room. I know nothing is guaranteed. I would like to be in the area where we can see both Epcot or HS fireworks. Love to sit on the balcony to watch the resorts come to life in the morning and watching fireworks at night.

Good Morning!

My sweet sister gifted us a trip to WDW December 7 - 14! We are staying at the YC. I am trying to find pictures and reviews of the newly refurbished rooms but struggling on these boards (so much to cover!) We usually stay at the Deluxe Resorts but this is the first time at YC. We chose it because we thought the boat ride options to Epcot and HS would help with walking! Are we correct to assume that? How are the bus's to MK and Disney Springs? Just wondering if there is a particular section or floor we can request when it's time to pre-check that would put us close to those boats! Any info you care to share would be fantastic. TIA

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1.

:cool1:

Check out Page 1, Post 8 for a video and a link with room photos. I am behind in getting pictures of the refurbed rooms in that post. I need to do that. Sooner rather than later.

For close to boats, you could request "Close to Lobby". Unless you have mobility issues, it is quicker to walk to EPCOT than take the boat.

Best way to get familiar with the resort is to read over Post 1 (intro), Post 13 (FAQ) and Post 14 (Other Useful Info) on Page 1 of this thread.

:thumbsup2

I was told by a CM that the accessible rooms have very low height beds. There was an earlier post on this thread that mentioned a very low height bed in their accessible room.

Sorry, I don't recall if the bed type was mentioned, or not, but I would presume both king and queen-bedded wheelchair accessible rooms have the lower height beds.

Does anyone know how to find out if a room has a connecting door? We are going in 2 weeks, and i'd like to put a fax through touring plans requesting 2 rooms side by side with connecting door, but nowhere can I find any info as to which rooms may have them. Thanks.
