What DVC studios and one bedroom allow 5 people. I asked wdw and they stated fire code laws. I asked DVC and they stated only member services can tell me that but I’m not a member. Can someone let me know.
For instance copper ridge say 4 people for both studios and one bedroom. Do they allow 5 in either if provide own bedding?
Otherwise copper isn’t a good buy for a family of 5

If you look at Dvc points charts, they tell you the occupancy for each unit. At the top of this page, click on DVC. Scroll down until you see points charts and then take a gander...

Copper Creek does not allow 5 in either the studio or 1-bedroom, even if you provide bedding...these are converted hotel rooms and there was no room to add the murphy bed/pull out chair like some other DVC resorts have. The only way you CAN have 5 is if one child is under age 3 as they sleep in the pack and play.

But I know I’ve read on here u can have 5 in some rooms for people over 3 years old if provide own bedding

Copper Creek does not allow 5 in any unit smaller than a 2BR, even for guests using points. Period.

For cash guests, the only 1BR units that sleep 5 can be found at BLT, AKV, OKW and VGF.
Points guests can BYOB at Saratoga, BWV, BCV and Boulder Ridge.

Studios that sleep 5 are at Poly, VGF, BCV, BWV and Boulder Ridge.
There is a hard limit of 4 at all other studios (Saratoga, AKV, BLT, Copper Creek, OKW).

This has a column that includes number each unit sleeps, even if bedding isn't provided for the last guest. But these limits are only for reservations booked on points.

It has nothing to do with bedding. It’s fire codes that determine occupancy. Those are set based upon how rapidly the building area can be evacuated. That has nothing to do with with bedding.

Not totally true. They can’t go over fire code but there’s no law that they can’t set a lower number based on bedding. They don’t want to advertise a room for 5 or 6 and only provide bedding for 4, so typically the occupancy limit is equal to bedding (keeping within fire code).

Resorts with exceptions, allowing 5 in a 1 bedroom for DVC reservations but bedding for 4: Boardwalk, Beach Club, Boulder Ridge, Saratoga.

Ok. This is what I’ve been looking for. So if we stayed at Saratoga we could get 5 in a one bedroom? That helps big time. Cause I like the resort and price. But we are a party of 5.
One other question. I know people say it’s hard to book at 7 months. But is it easier to book at 7 months if it’s a one bedroom?
Thanks

You will need to book on points to be able to book 5. You cannot on a cash reservation.

What is this bedding rule? I have a reservation the Poly. Will bedding be provided for all beds?

Yes, you can have 5 in a one bedroom at SSR. There is a king bed and queen sofa bed, so unless 3 are small children, you need to figure sleeping spaces. One bedrooms are easier to get than studios.

OKW is different because there is a sleeper chair provided for the 5th person. Official occupancy is 5.
Thanks, I didn’t realise that. I’m from the U.K. and booked quite a while ago for August 2018. I remember being given the option of SSR and OKW so just assumed they were all the same x

Reminder, they only allow the fifth person in those one bedroom villas if you book it through DVC on points. If you book it through Disney Reservation Center or through a travel agent/company, you are only permitted to have four persons.

You will not get towels for five in those one bedrooms that only have beds for four persons. You will get four bath towels, two hand towels and four face cloths. If your fifth person needs a towel, you'll need to purchase an extra towel pack as well.

And the reason they only allow cash to book 4 is because they do not have roll-aways to provide, generally speaking.
