I would guess that you could find the dimensions of the studios on the Disney Vacation Club forum, but as far as I know, the BCV studios are larger than the Jambo studios. The BCV studios all have a regular balcony, so you don't have to request one. The BCV's don't have the best view. If you get a room facing the woods then you might get a view of Illuminations through the trees. The other views would be pool, courtyard and parking lot. I like to request a room close to the lobby elevators, for convenience. Is the room bigger then animal kingdom jambo studio? Also, what view do I ask for to actually have one, and possibly a full size balcony
Thank you to everyone who listened to me complain and who provided advice about my brother's family's Christmas trip to Disney World. They got back on Thursday. It worked out well for them. Apparently they weren't bothered by the crowds. They managed to do a lot more rides than I had anticipated. They had an ADR for the Candlelight Processional Dining Package, so they got to do that. I paid for the Jingle Bell Jingle Bam holiday dessert party as a gift, because one of my nieces really wanted to do that (and I am The Best Aunt in the World). I have an Annual Pass, so I downloaded their Photopass photos. Some of those photos were just fantastic.
I was afraid they would hate it because of the crowds, and it would ruin Disney World for them. Happily I was wrong.
I asked my nieces if they preferred the Contemporary or the Beach Club. They said it really just matters which theme park you want to spend the most time at.
I visited my parents in the nursing home on the 24th. I had planned to see the new Star Wars movie on the 25th, but it snowed. I had planned to see Pitch Perfect 3 today, but it snowed. I've had enough of winter already, and it's not even January!
Returned from our trip on Monday. We had a great time but we all missed the BC. We have decided that for our 2019 trip (pending Galaxy's Edge opening) we want to stay at either the BC or YC. We did stop by to visit and see the Christmas decorations, which made us miss it more, lol. We stayed at Coronado this past trip and while we loved the new rooms we much prefer the Epcot resort area and deluxe resorts for the multiple transportation choices. I know we are weird but we enjoy going more in the summer than when there is a chance it will be cool weather. We enjoy taking mid-day breaks at the pool and even full days at the pool, with the weather we had this past trip it was too cold for that. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to the best thread ever.
Edited to add: We had our first celebrity sighting this trip. We were on the same train as Mike Tyson and his family on Rockin' Roller Coaster. Only two seats back, lol. Walked out of the ride down the ramp with him. I didn't say anything as I didn't want to disrupt his family vacation but when we came out there were people every where taking his picture. Its kinda funny though cause we were just talking about him like 2 days before. Our daughter loves the henna and my husband jokingly said she should get one around her eye like Mike Tysons tattoo. She had no idea who he was so we showed her pictures.
Good Morning Everyone! Thank you to everyone who posts here and helped us have a fabulous Christmas trip and Yacht Club stay. We just got back yesterday from our second stay here and first stay since the refurb. This is now the perfect resort for us. Loved the location of course, the peaceful vibe, the very helpful cast members, the restaurants, and the room décor, design, and furnishings, and the lovely pool area!

I can't wait to stay here again!
Please add us to the “Be Our Guest” list. We just switched from a BWI Standard View AP rate to a BC Lagoon/Pool View AP rate for Feb 10th to Feb 12th. We’ve stayed at YC a few times recently, but this will be a first for BC.
Back from the YC. Our stay was 12-16-23. Room 4241

I'm glad it worked out for them - and you are the Best Aunt for helping them plan things! I hear you on the weather. It hasn't snowed too much here, but the temps have been about twenty degrees cooler than usual - getting sick of temps in the teens.
I wanted to pop in and wish everyone a healthy and happy new year! This is my favorite place to hang out on this board.
If it's just the two of you, you should not have to share a bed.I have a studio booked for Feb. Would I be able to rent a cott or bring in an air mattress? My cousin and I would have to share a bed and we are both quite big guys so sharing a bed is not really an option.

I'll pencil you in on the 2019 list, because it is never too early!
That is really cool about your celebrity sighting.
to posting on the thread. I love your avatar photo with the linked arms and magic bands.
I'm glad you were able to find some helpful info here before your trip.
Love your detailed review- may I add link it to the trip report section I have on Page 1 (Post 16)- I haven't been good about keeping that section up, but maybe I'll try to do a better job in 2018...
back!
Will do!
Thanks for your comments!
I would love to add your review to the trip report section.
Review of Yachtsman, August 2017, chunkymonkeyWe arrived at Yachtsman and checked in. We were greeted by our longtime favorite server, David. We were able to dine with him about 4 times this year which was great!Soon we were joined by everyone else and we were seated in Yachtsman. They didn't' have room to fit our gigantic party so Kelly's family ate at at the table right next to us. We started off with the delicious bread basket of pull apart onion rolls with the roasted garlic....mmmSteve and I got the tuna tartare appetizer to start. It was fresh and delicious. It's served with a tempura-fried seaweed which you can use as sort of a cracker for the tuna, and some light wasabi cream. We also got a few orders of the fried calamari which was great!Steve and I always share the porterhouse medium rare. It's delicious! Some sides we got for the table:Beef fat potatoesSauteed mushrooms, creamed spinach, caramelized onions:For the summer months they had a delicious pea risotto. It's seasonal though so they don't have it right now. Truffle mac n cheese, an all-time favorite!Oh and Chunkysis who is not a steak fan ordered a grilled lobster:Gosh we were so full we never really have room for dessert here! Everyone really enjoyed their meals with Kelly and Honyee proclaimed it "The Best Restaurant at Disney!" We saved 20% on almost everything including our bottles of wine, but they do only give the discount for up to 10 people, but David was nice enough to apply the AP discount for 10% off the other meals. They gave out petit fours for the table. It was a fantastic meal! I always recommend Yachtsman for a great steak dinner, and it never disappoints.
