Where are we, Jersey? Bye, Phoenicians! An August 2017 TR * NEW DINING/TR LINKS*

Luckily, I have a little elf who is going to play hooky from school on Thursday so we can wrap and bake
I hope you guys got a lot done and had a good time :santa:

That's just terrible that her bad behavior got rewarded
I know :sad2: Unfortunately this seems to happen more often as time goes on, as if they just want to shut up the complainers.

That’s great news about your February trip. I’m glad you get to spend time with Cathy in Disney before going over to Universal for your training.
Me too! I was a little late signing up for this training; it was announced right after Ricky got hurt and since we didn't know at that point when his surgery was, I didn't sign up. Then it filled up so I had to wait for someone to drop out while Cathy signed up right away. While I was waiting for a spot to open, she and I planned the Disney part ;) Had I not gotten in to the training, I would have left Sunday night when she headed to Uni. But I like the current plan better!

I’m glad you got to ride it with the whole family. In March that’s the main thing she wants to do so hopefully I’ll have success on our FP day.
I had to make FP's yesterday for a client going during President's Week and got them for their 3rd day no problem! However the earliest times were later in the afternoon but still, availability! Ricky wants to ride multiple times so I'll cross my fingers we both get it.

After my DD and her family came home from Disney they added a new addition to the family. Meet Indy
How adorable :dog:

..but of course you'll be doing a February trip just two weeks before mine! *pout*
:o Unfortunately I seem to be missing a few of you, like @docsoliday1. And I'd love to be there when you guys are because then I'd be there for my birthday :cheer2: but hey, I'm going to take it when I can get it!

That may be true, but I'm not one of them!! I'll go any time at or before sunset. That's about it. Our nighttime ride was super lame.
Yeah. When Steve and I did the sunset one it was still lame, but not as bad as the full on dark one. I loved the idea when it was announced but................sounded better than it is in reality.

Same here! I don't have anyone's presents yet :rotfl:
 I hope you've gotten some shopping done! Did you not take care of any of that on your trip???

Happy to hear you get to go back in February.
:thanks: Excited I don't have to wait until late March lol

Great news about February trip! We will be there later in the month. I decided to bite the bullet and buy one day park to park tickets for US/IOA for our February trip. I was able to get a value ticket which has some black out days but was about 20.00 cheaper so a little savings.
That's right, I forgot you'll be there later in Feb., too! I'm missing everyone :sad1: Still happy I'm going though! Nice that you're going to Uni this time, hope you guys enjoy it :)

Where are you staying in March???
:wave2: We're staying at CCV which I'm excited about! Small chance we'll change if something better pops up under my discount, but I'm really happy about being back at my favorite WL so I'm not really looking to move.

Disboarders will always find a way to meet!
So true!

If my niece begged to ride Peter Pan again I'd probably get back on that 75 minute standby just for her...
lol, I believe you would! While Steve took a break at the resort :tiptoe:

Wish it were about 2 weeks later. We'll be there the 18th - 24th.
Yeah...............you, @MeghanEmily, I believe @disneyAndi14.......everyone but me!

We weren't able to get FPs for this, so we will try to rope drop this with EMH on the 19th. DW needs an ECV, so me and DD will have to hoof it and let her catch up.
I meant to quote your PTR earlier today but had to leave before I got around to it. I had to make FP's yesterday for a client also arriving on the 18th. I did get FOP for them on the 21st, they're a party of 9 but only 4 wanted it. Earliest time available was 3:50.....you may do better riding at park close, but try for RD and see how you do! It's really am amazing ride.

Will have to check out your DR...we're going there for the ROL package (we've never seen it, so want good seats at least).
Yes check it out! The character interaction is great and the food is very good.

I love the Goofy picture. He sure knows how to tease the boys. :)
I think TH has some of the best character interaction :goofy:

Your February trip sounds like fun. Even though the Festival of the Arts doesn’t seem too exciting, at least it is something new to do. We will be there in January for a short - better than no- trip. :)
Oh yes, I'll take any trip over none! I'm happy to be going during the festival to see what it's all about. It can't be bad and it certainly won't be a waste of my time, but since we only have two days we won't be spending all our time there for this one.

Yeah...............you, @MeghanEmily, I believe @disneyAndi14.......everyone but me!
@MeghanEmily and @disneyAndi14, if you're there the 18th - 24th, it would be cool to try a DISmeet. I've been a member on the boards since 2008, but really haven't done much until the last year. Seeing all the DISmeets in other folks TRs have been cool to see/watch/hear about.

I get up at oh-dark thirty for work and I was on by 6am. Problem I had was the FP reservation page didn't ALLOW me to go to Feb 18th even though I had reservations. I had to wait until 7am when customer service opened and by that point I guess it was too late. :sad2:

[/qoute]
Have to find it first ;)

 I hope you've gotten some shopping done! Did you not take care of any of that on your trip???

I did some of it online, have to pick up some gift cards tomorrow. I would’ve but no one in my family wants anything from Disney :confused3

Oh, that's AWESOME!!! Jealous! We will definitely have to plan on meeting up (maybe at Geyser Point...)!!!!!! Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!!

Ricky had better feel loved after a 90 minute wait. Yay for Disney in Feb
LOL!
I'm so totally excited about February! Now if I can just find the time to make some plans for that trip...............and our March trip for that matter!

I cannot believe I'm even attempting doing an update tonight; I spent about 7 hours baking today, still have wrapping to do, and haven't cleaned yet for the 16 people who will be here Monday. Yet the DIS calls and will calm me, so here I am!

WHY YES WE'LL BE YOUR GUESTS

We were at AK somewhat late the night before, but we were still up early to do our 2nd EMH morning of the trip! Yup, not the boys idea and not something we normally do, however with the ungodly hot weather I told them we were doing some this time. And really it turned out to be a good thing, since more than on our previous summer trips we all liked the mid-day downtime and this enabled us to get stuff done early. Today's EMH was at MK beginning at 8am and we were there for it.

IMG_7106.JPG

And where did we go first? The same place everyone else was going, of course!

IMG_7108.JPG

I almost never run anywhere when we're in the parks because, well, I'm a pro :snooty: But then every once in awhile I do something that would make other guests mistake me for a newbie - see my previous post about standing in line for the safari for 90 minutes - and we were almost running to 7DMT. Granted it was more like a gallop but more than a walk nonetheless. It was worth it though because we walked right on and as we were zigzagging through the outside queue, the line grew insanely long.
We only rode once and then moved on to something else that normally sees long lines:

IMG_7109.JPG

I'm so happy the boys humor me by still riding this. Stay tuned for a few more queue pics; the line wasn't long at all but we did get to stop a few times and admire the new(ish) stuff in line:

IMG_7111.JPG

IMG_7112.JPG

Strangely enough he looked happier last night with the characters at TH, go figure!
I think the next picture is so neat because it's Ricky and Steve's "shadow's", and mine taking the picture :goodvibes

IMG_7113.JPG

It wasn't quite time for regular park opening yet so crowds weren't bad, but we decided to go on a favorite that was in the area:

IMG_7115.JPG

OK, here's what I think about every time we go by this scene: I always wonder if the dolls with the masks have actual faces back there. Creepy to think they don't, right? So when we go by I try to look; once I'm pretty sure I saw that the one on the end does so I assume they both do. I'm just going with yeah, they do....................

It was getting close to our breakfast time which was good because we were hungry! We hadn't stopped by the lounge since they only open at 7 and we were rushing to get out for EMH; plus I had an ADR booked. We were doing breakfast at BOG

IMG_7121.JPG

We'd been here for lunch once, dinner 7x (once just Steve and I) and the two of us had breakfast here once but not the boys. It was fine when we did it and also before the current prices were in place, the best part was getting on Mine Train twice before the crowds came in. This was Jan. of 2016. I had snagged this ADR the day before just because I thought it would be nice for the boys to eat the one meal there they hadn't yet. *Spoiler alert, we MIGHT be back here for dinner this night, too.......*

Close up of the suit of armor:

IMG_7124.JPG

I'll save my review of our food for my dining report but here's Steve's coffee cup:

IMG_7129.JPG

LOVE the sayings on these now! We started getting these earlier this year I think? And this was one we hadn't gotten yet.

After we ate we spent a little more time at the park and had another DISMeet! Since I'm at my picture limit I'll save that for next time; I hope all of you celebrating Christmas have a VERY MERRY ONE :santa::santa:

The early bird does get the worm! We always try to go to EMH at MK. I find the pay out there is the best for EMH.

I never thought about the masked dolls, funny!

We did BoG breakfast once and shared because it was after the price hike, we enjoyed it and also got to be first in line for 7 dwarves so win-win.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours!

This is my life except that instead of having to wrap presents we still need to decorate the house! It is our worst procrastination ever, and very easy to do when you are empty nesters. ;)

I'm so happy the boys humor me by still riding this. Stay tuned for a few more queue pics; the line wasn't long at all but we did get to stop a few times and admire the new(ish) stuff in line:
We make Peter Pan a regular ride, too. I'm not sure why it is so appealing, but it is. ::yes::

It wasn't quite time for regular park opening yet so crowds weren't bad, but we decided to go on a favorite that was in the area:
I can't believe the boys agree to do Small World. :)

Have a wonderful Christmas. :)

Even tho dinner at BOG SUCKED in July, I still really want to give breakfast a try. Because, up until July's big disappointment, dinner had always been delicious and we've also enjoyed lunch there...
And, can you believe I have still never seen the PP queue????? We always ride it FP, so I always miss it...

Oh my! on the 90 minute wait. But I totally get it. I would probably do the same... well maybe...well, if I had a kid that was willing to wait that long. As of right now, I don't. :)

I'm also right there with you on the night time safari. We did it for our first time this last trip and it was okay. It was cool seeing and hearing the lions but that's about it. It was just too dark to see anything else.

We always try to go to EMH at MK. I find the pay out there is the best for EMH.
I agree. I think HS would probably be worth it just to ride RnRC and TOT a few times, but we haven't done that for awhile, either.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours!
Same to you!!

This is my life except that instead of having to wrap presents we still need to decorate the house! It is our worst procrastination ever, and very easy to do when you are empty nesters. ;)
Oh my goodness!! I like to decorate right after Thanksgiving; this year I didn't get to start until the Tuesday afterwards and I was losing my mind lol! I hope you got it all done :)

We make Peter Pan a regular ride, too. I'm not sure why it is so appealing, but it is. ::yes::
I'm not sure, either! It always amazes me that it has such long lines continuously. I love riding it because it reminds me of riding it with my Grandmother so many years ago so maybe it's the nostalgia factor for adults and the "dark ride but not realy scary" factor for kids :scratchin

I can't believe the boys agree to do Small World. :)
It's even one they never whine about in the least!

Have a wonderful Christmas. :)
You also :goodvibes

Because, up until July's big disappointment, dinner had always been delicious and we've also enjoyed lunch there...
Same here, up until this particular trip when we also did dinner we always had great experiences. I just figured something was "off" in August but with your negative experience maybe it's just going downhill which would be a shame.

And, can you believe I have still never seen the PP queue????? We always ride it FP, so I always miss it...
I believe it! We used to always ride with FP until they redid the queue, and then we made it a point to ride early so we could do it SB without a wait and see all the changes. Since then we've done that 2 more times so we've actually gotten to see the new queue 3x :thumbsup2

I'm also right there with you on the night time safari. We did it for our first time this last trip and it was okay. It was cool seeing and hearing the lions but that's about it. It was just too dark to see anything else.
When they announced it was starting I thought the idea was great, but unfortunately it didn't pan out that way. I'll stick with our morning safari's!

I’m glad you were able to ride 7DMT and Peter Pan :tink:
Don’t think I’ll ever outgrow this ride :goodvibes
Have to check out your dining review
We really enjoyed BOG breakfast especially for the Masters cupcake
Wishing you and family peace and joy :santa:

I spent about 7 hours baking today

Oh my gosh!! You're a good woman.

Sounds like your Mine Train dash was worth it!!

:rotfl2:

I always wonder if the dolls with the masks have actual faces back there. Creepy to think they don't, right?

Oh my gosh, why did you tell me this!?

I still have never gotten to go through the queue! The line is always way too long for us to wait or we have a FP.

: I always wonder if the dolls with the masks have actual faces back there. Creepy to think they don't, right? So when we go by I try to look; once I'm pretty sure I saw that the one on the end does so I assume they both do. I'm just going with yeah, they do....................

:rotfl: I've never even thought of that. I'd think they do too.

And yes I'm using Christmas colors now :santa::santa:
Tis the season!

I recognize you from DISBoards!" and with that, Kathy @KathyM2 came up to me!

img_7018-jpg.287775
This is awesome. It's like your a celebrity.... kind of... ;)

Feb. 2-4 Disney-CSR
No idea yet what our plans are but I know we'll be in Epcot! I asked Cathy if she wanted to try to get into all 4 parks, just 2 or 3, or what, and her answer was "yes
OMG!!!! We will be there. Maybe our first meet can be in Disney. I think we will be doing the following:
Feb. 2nd: AK
Feb 3rd: MK
Feb 4th: HS
Sadly, we are planning Epcot on the 5th. I will send you a message on facebook to see if we can make it work. #fingerscrossed

While we were there a woman was complaining like crazy because nobody told her she had to make FP's ahead of time, and now there were none left for FOP and her kids were devastated. Devastated! Her kids, at least the ones with her, were both still in diapers. This poor CM ended up giving her SIX anytime FP's for any park for her "trouble". Unbelievable.
Ugh, I hate stories like this! It rewards bad behavior. I know the CM need to move on at some point. But I hate it!

img_7075-jpg.289318

Goofy being goofy :goofy:
Still an awesome pic!

I kept asking Ricky if he really wanted to ride and he kept saying yes, so we did it.
See, I know it was probably a painful wait, but you are a good mom!

This was Ricky's first nighttime safari, my first full dark safari (Steve and I did one at dusk) but we both agree it's not worth it. I'm sure some of you have had really good experiences with the night safari's but we'll stick with day ones!
It is def only worth doing once. We couldn't see too much. And I can only image if it was your first time ever, you would be like What the Hell?!?!

I cannot believe I'm even attempting doing an update tonight; I spent about 7 hours baking today, still have wrapping to do, and haven't cleaned yet for the 16 people who will be here Monday. Yet the DIS calls and will calm me, so here I am!
Better than me! I am just coming out of the Christmas coma!

I think the next picture is so neat because it's Ricky and Steve's "shadow's", and mine taking the picture :goodvibes

Love this feature.

So when we go by I try to look; once I'm pretty sure I saw that the one on the end does so I assume they both do. I'm just going with yeah, they do....................
Now I need to know! Is it just a head? Do they have eyes and mouthes?

Sorry, I'm behind, but I'm catching up!!!

See how those bushes are squared off? When Steve and I did the UnDiscovered Futureworld tour last year, we learned that all the bushes in FW are square because......of the future :scratchin and over in WS they're rounded; the curbs are the same. Um, that isn't the best explanation and it was much better on the tour lol, I probably should have just left this part out. But I like the picture and wanted to try giving you all a little trivia. My bad!

I appreciate the trivia! One can never have enough Disney trivia! That's pretty funny about the bushes...

img_6854-jpg.276998

Aaaaaaaalllllll those peeps that are small in the pic as well as those in the front were in the SB line. The wait was around 40 minutes which is far too long to wait for SE, as good a ride as it is.

Wow agreed! That's way too long for SE!

When we got to the "Thank the Phoenicians" line I turned to Chris and said "Thanks, Phoenicians!" because I'm a dork like that. He said "OMG Mom" which prompted me to say "Bye, Felicia!" I'm sure most of you remember that? Which then led to me saying, "Bye, Phoenicians!"

:rotfl2:

Stay tuned, the answer might just

BOWL YOU OVER!
I know. I'm sorry. It's late.

OMG I love this!

All bowling balls should look like this!

Beautiful pic. Congrats!

This looks awesome!

We noticed Hook walking towards us while Ricky was out using the bathroom; Chris was like, "he better not come to me!":

:rotfl:

Well, at the bathrooms here Patch said this is your last chance if you have to go and one person ran in - Chris.
Followed by Capt. Hook lol!

:rotfl::rotfl2:

:hyper: I actually gasped when I saw this pic of Peter Pan waiting for the boat to return. DD would be shrieking. This might be a must-do for a future trip...

Okay so it’s obvious but I’m way behind!

I actually tried the fruit and nutella waffle from Sleepy Hollow
I really want to try this one day.

They gave us Nov. and asked if we'd gotten Sept. and Oct. buttons. When we said no they gave us those, too!
Nice!

We were in Casitas 3 which is where we were on our first stay and we also lucked out and got a refurbished room!
Very nice! I’m looking forward to getting a refurbed Pop room in October.

Three great DISMeet's down!
Envious!

we saw "Bad Moms Christmas". Not as good as the first Bad Moms but still funny!
I loved the first and did a Mom’s Night Out for it...but I haven’t caught the new one yet.
