Can we get a Beer around Disney and Universal podcast?

hey, I didn't start the thread ... I did contribute some thoughts though ;)
Oh - sorry - read this quickly, and somehow thought it was during the show when they read your suggestion on where to visit. And - in both/either cases, I was/am SO proud to know you! I seriously "fan-girled" just a bit. :o

Frankly, the parks and resorts don’t have an extensive beer list. It’s mostly Bud, Bud Light - that sort of thing. It’s gotten better in recent years, but the most “crafty” would be something like Jai-Ali by Cigar City which you’ll find in many places. It’s like their house craft beer now.

I know a lot of folks will object to this - noting the new “craft” beer place in DHS as well as all the beers in World Showcase, etc. But real beer enthusiasts know these are hardly far-reaching discoveries but rather pretty common offerings from places like Lagunitis, Stone, etc. breweries.

In fairness, Disney has to deal with high volume and as such, it’s hard to find breweries that can supply the kind of volume they need. So I think they’ve done a great job just getting to the point they’re at now. At least you can find something besides Yuengling if you look hard enough.

My point is that there’s not much to talk about in terms of a podcast.

I suppose one could do an adventure-like podcast talking less about the beer and more about the silly antics of a crew getting slowly inebriated. I might be highly entertained by that, but probably not the kind of thing the Dis wants to be associated with. Especially since one of the founding members is a recovering alcoholic.

you are 100% correct that as far as rea craft beer goes there really isn't much if anything on property ... so it would be more of "Given that the options are limited, where can I go to get something better than just Bud?" - and the baseline Taphouse, Nomad Lounge (actually, most stands in Animal Kingdom have a few "different" options), Germany and Canada in WS, etc. - there are some places to do OK

Not sure they would ever do like an official podcast about this, but they have done a number of "drinking around the World" videos around EPCOT so they are willing to touch on the subject

True about within- i know Universal has a lot and there's nothing wrong with venturing just in the local area. LOL

Without wanting to break the rules of promoting other people on here... there’s a weekly podcast hosted by a popular person who enjoys a tipple or two at Disney. I’m sure they discuss drinking at Disney on the odd occasion.

You could try an episode next time you’re waiting for the “3 o’clock parade”...
