We have a 6:40 reservation for one of our Epcot days during our upcoming trip. We've never been to Le Cellier but have wanted to try it for several years.

I've seen mixed reviews, especially as of late. So, for those of you who have eaten there, do you recommend us trying it?

I think it's overpriced, but definitely worth trying at least once. We went for DD's 16th birthday in Feb. 2016. We had a party of 9, we all had a great time and enjoyed the food! I love the atmosphere there, and if the pretzel bread is still there it's super yummy!

Thanks for your response! We're on the Deluxe DP, so we aren't worried about the price this time (thankfully, LOL)

We go just about every year at eat there on the DeluxeDP. Is it the best steak ever, no ... there may even be a couple at WDW that are better. But we enjoy it. I don't think it is "bad" like a few Disney restaurants.

Don't be swayed by reviews unless they are overwhelmingly positive or negative; almost every place gets good and bad reviews, and Le Cellier's are mostly good. As with most WDW restaurants, delivering a consistent experience can be a crapshoot. Having said that, I have never had a bad experience at Le Cellier.

Definitely worth keeping the reservation since you're on DxDP and it's on one of your Epcot days.

I'm probably in the minority in that I prefer their other dishes instead of steak and the beloved cheese soup. There are better steaks at quite a few other restaurants and more interesting appetizers on LC's menu besides that soup (which IS good). I had a fantastic pork belly appetizer a few weeks ago. The mussels were good, too.

For me, it would be a hard "no" as there are other places I'd rather eat at than Le Cellier, especially when it comes to steak. And I wouldn't waste a sit-down meal on free pretzel bread and cheese soup.

That said, objectively it would depend on what other ADRs you have ... I'd pick Yachtsman, Cali Grill, Citrico's, Flying Fish, Monsieur Paul, Tiffins, Morimoto, Boathouse and Paddlefish over Le Cellier for a sit-down meal.

I already have Yachtsman, as it's a favorite. We have Cali Grill currently, but thinking about cancelling it to be able to keep Le Cellier as we didn't have an 'amazing' experience the last time we ate there.

Cali Grill is definitely a "sacred cow" for me, but I get that the experience can be lacking at times - I haven't been to dinner at a time where I couldn't see fireworks, so I know that has a lot to do with it!

That said - the menu can play a large part too. I think one of the reasons I love Cali Grill is that the menu changes seasonally ... I didn't really care for much on the summer menu, but I LOVE all the items on the fall menu.

Good luck making your decision - having to choose between a bunch of excellent dining choices is a fun problem to have! :lovestruc

The other signatures I have done are Narcoossee dinner and Cali Grill brunch. Le Cellier filet mignon is still our favourite and our only must do that we will continue to repeat in future trips. Despite the crazy costs even though we are normally very price sensitive.

That said, our tastes are not super fancy and we really like sauce on our steaks.

If you've always wanted to go and price isn't a big deal as you're on the deluxe DP, I'd go for it!

Some places highly recommended on these boards have been among my most disappointing meals and some that are not recommended very highly have been among my best experiences.

For example, last August, my family went to CRT for the first time (for lunch), a place that gets a lot of "It was neat being in the castle, but I'll never pay that much for that meal again" reviews. I really wanted to take my kids there, and my adult nieces really wanted to go to see the princesses, lol. I warned everyone in our party ahead of time that we should probably concentrate on the experience and not expect amazing food. And yet, our meals were all really good. Not one complaint and a lot of requests to go back. I wouldn't go back every trip, as there are just too many places I'd like to try, but I'll certainly try to snag another ADR during a future trip.

So true. Mickey's Backyard BBQ gets slammed on the Dis. But we really enjoyed it and I loved the ribs!

Unfortunately, for us Le Cellier is a nay. We had the worst restaurant service EVER (not just in WDW) several years ago at Le Cellier. The CM took our drink order and never came back with them. We had to flag him down and get him to bring them - that took about 20 minutes. Then it took him another 20 minutes to come back and take our order. Took another 30 minutes to get our food - from a different CM. My food was fine, my husband's steak was almost all gristle. Then the waiter NEVER came back. My husband had to finally go ask another waiter to bring us our check. We never saw our original CM after he took our order. It wasn't just us. Three other tables were almost totally perplexed about what was going on. My husband was not happy and vowed to never return.

Fast forward to last month at F&W. I convince my husband to give the Canada booth a try because everyone is raving about how great the steak is. We decide to split the filet. I take the first bite. Yummy!! I tell my DH that Canada has redeemed itself. He cuts off a chunk, starts to chew it and promptly splits it back out. Almost solid gristle. The rest of the piece was also all gristle. We won't be going back. There are several other restaurants at WDW that have better service AND better steak.

We have never had a bad meal there. It is a very good over priced steak house. If you live in an area with really good steak houses, it may not be worth trying. However, if you have never been there, then i would go at least once.

I recommend the Yachtsman instead. We've had two great meals there, and one bad meal at Le Cellier. We won't go back for a second- it's just too much money to spend for cramped tables and burnt food.

I really like it and we're pretty picky with good food. The Cheddar soup, sides and steaks are really good in my opinion

I only order the filet mignon at Le Cellier, and I've NEVER been disappointed. It's sooooooo tender it cuts like butter, I don't even think I've needed a steak knife. And really when you consider that everything in Disney is marked up a ton, the mark up on the filet really isn't beyond the realm.

Last trip my father and brother ordered the riveted. Nowhere near as good as the filet mignon my DH and I ordered, even though they usually like ribeyes better. I was so tempted by the porterhouse but glad I stuck to the tried and true.
