OFFICIAL NOVEMBER 2017 THREAD

Our Thanksgiving will be spent at Animal Kingdom with an early dinner at Tusker House, although the turkey bowl at Satu'li Canteen is looking really good. May have to get it to go for in our room later.

We have taken a small insulated backpack cooler into the parks with snacks but never a full meal, and never a larger cooler.

We leave on Friday! Finished packing and painting magic bands yesterday! ( I’m no artist, but pretty happy with our bands.)

Also, finished Christmas decorating both inside and outside the house, so it’s ready when we get back from our trip!

Your bands came out great!

You guys! I've been home almost a week, and fighting off a bit of a Disney crud, and reality is not nearly as much fun as Disney! LOL! We had the best trip!

Highlights included:
  • Flight of Passage: this ride seriously lived up to all the hype and surpassed my expectations
  • Food & Wine and Food & Wine
  • Have a sweet view from our "standard" room at the Boardwalk where we saw fireworks and the Boardwalk
  • Halloween party
  • Running 19.3 miles
  • Brunch at Cali Grill
It was an amazing trip! And although I'm ready for a non running trip with my family, it was the most magical of vacations as always! Wishing loads of pixie dust and memories to last a lifetime to my fellow November travelers!
Welcome Back

Sounds like a wonderful trip and running 19.3 miles impressive :thumbsup2
So excited to ride FOP for the first time glad you liked it.
How was your brunch at Cali Grill?

Great job on your bands :thumbsup2

We got back on Friday and I'm so sad. It was such an amazing trip! The weather was perfect, highs in the mid 80s and lows in the 60s all week. Drizzled a tiny bit the first day but only when we were already inside so we didn't even notice it!
Highlights:
  • Wizarding World at Universal Studios was awesome! We had so much fun on all the rides and the interactive wands were harder to use than expected but so cool! Using an Uber back and forth was perfect.
  • HS: 50's Prime Time Cafe was probably the highlight, our server "Granny" was the best! Also my 10yr old daughter went on Rock'n Roller coaster for the fist time and loved it!
  • MK: All the rides were great as always. The highlight for me was doing the Pirate's Adventure. We did 3 out of 4 and everyone enjoyed it and we got an extra FP for Pirates of the Caribbean after doing 2! HEA was amazing! We did the dessert party with plaza viewing and it was worth it to have good spots without fighting for them.
  • Epcot: Test Track was the group favorite. This is our least favorite park. Not enough good rides and too much walking.
  • AK: Flight of passage was amazing! So glad we had FP for it! Navi River was not worth the wait. My younger daughter rode Everest for the first time (and 2nd!) and loved it so that was exciting too. Loved the safari as always, our driver was great and the animals were really moving around. We also really enjoyed River of Lights.
I wore my birthday pin and birthday ears all week at the Disney Parks and got lots of "happy birthday"s. At 50's diner and Crystal Palace I got birthday cupcakes and sang to. It was a really fun trip and a super special 40th birthday celebration. I'm so glad we went. Don't know when we'll go back but it will probably be more than 2 years which makes me so sad.

Reading everyone's trip highlights is really making me excited for my trip. It's so much fun to hear about your trips!

Sounds like you had a wonderful trip! I want to go to Universal to do and see all the Harry Potter stuff so bad. I'm just waiting till my kids are a little older so they will enjoy it more. Can I ask how much the uber was? My cousin's family is doing Universal for a day and they didn't do any research on transportation from Disney to Universal. And I know nothing about Universal so I'm not much help to them.

50s is a lot of fun. My kids still tell people how I was fed by Aunt Carol when we were there. We've never done the pirate adventures but my kids would probably like it. I'm kicking myself for not booking the HEA dessert party when it was open.

We love Epcot. My kids are young enough to enjoy coloring at the kidkot stations which gives me and dh an opportunity to relax and enjoy a drink while they color. Plus dd5 likes to meet characters so she can do that in the countries. This trip we're going to try the Chip N Dale ornament hunt too.

We did an UberXL because there were 5 of us. I think it was around $25 each way which was pretty good. We had waited a while for the same reason for the HP stuff. My girls were finally 10 and 7 and we had been reading the first 3 books earlier in the year so they knew more about it and could appreciate it. The youngest didn't do the Gringots ride but she did everything else.

My girls are not as into the characters as they used to be, they are more into rides now. We did 3 character meals: Chef Mickey, Crystal Palace, and Ohana to get most of the main characters that way and it worked well so we didn't waist ride time. I think with them getting older and liking the rides more, we may do Universal next time we do a theme park. It's hard to come more often b/c it's sooo $$$ now days and there are other vacations we would like to do so we'll see. I love Disney but the hubs doesn't as much so I knew going into this it might be the last one for a while and tried to get everything crammed in.

I am so glad to hear good things about 50's! We will be going there for the first time next week. Our staples had always been Hollywood & Vine (for Disney JR) and Pizza Planet while at HS so I'm excited to try new places. We also told my parents it's a diner place but didn't tell them about what goes on there so I can't wait to see their reactions! My dad is going to have a blast. The kids are really looking forward to this.

Thank you for the Uber info. I think we'll look into Universal in a couple of years. My youngest will be 7 then like your's and that seems like a good age. But like you, there are other places we'd like to go to too.

We just got back too and now I am feeling the post Disney vacation blues.
FOP was the absolute highlight of the trip. We were lucky enough to have fast passes and ride it 3 times with no wait (Rope drop twice and fast pass use).
