Hi Mark...the short answer is, yes!
The long answer is a bit more complicated and the reason I hadn't got round to revisiting this thread. Unfortunately during our first night at VN I received a text to say that my mother in the UK had had a heart attack and was in hospital. The rest of the holiday passed in a worrying blur and we didn't really take full advantage of what was there. My initial response was to try and get a flight back quickly but when it became obvious that I wouldn't get one the following day we thought we would stay put for the remaining time. This was over a month ago now and my mother was in hospital up until three days ago, with Oliver and I staying nearby visiting daily. Fortunately she is now home in time for Christmas and slowly recovering with help.
So, it seems ages ago now! But yes, we were very impressed with the VN park generally. We had a two-bedroom "cottage" which was light and spacious and very well equipped. There was a dishwasher but no washing machine - I must have got that bit wrong in the description! We had a bathroom with wash basin and a separate shower room with loo and hand basin. I loved the natural, eco-friendly building and decor. We had an outdoor decking area with large table, chairs and sun-loungers (not that we made any use of those in November). The park itself was a little difficult to navigate, especially at night as quite dark and vast with many paths not brilliantly signed but there was lots to see and do although mainly for more able-bodied children than Oliver. It really warrants a holiday in itself but of course Oliver still wanted plenty of Disney so what with that and spending an awful lot of time on my phone to my sister and brother re my mother we never even got into the fabulous looking pool. Oliver liked the farm as he loves animals and there is a little show there which was not at all what we were expecting but he thought it was great. It was a sort of live mime with actors and puppets - really only for very small children.
The whole park was very quiet at the time we were there and even so there were times when it was quite a queue getting in and out of the complex in the car as wristbands have to be shown every time. Parking is in lots but it may be quite a walk to an individual accommodation unit. I suppose that if you are choosing an environmentally friendly, nature themed holiday this is not so much of an issue. We liked the shopping/restaurant area. The supermarket is good with a great range of organic food and we didn't need to go into Auchan for anything. There is a Nature et Decouverte which is a shop I really like. There used to be one in VdE but it went a while back. The general landscaping is typically beautifully Disney imagined and will only improve as it matures. We saw enough we liked to book it again in June when the warmer weather and a hopefully less stressful time will allow us to make the most of it.
Any questions do ask and I'll try and answer. Also I do have some pictures which I'll put up when I've more time.
