Recommendations for wheelchair accessible van rentals

Does anyone have any recommendations for renting wheelchair accessible vans? I searched and found a few companies in Orlando but wasn't sure if one company is better than the other. If anyone can share their experiences, I would greatly appreciate it!

Are you staying offsite? Or are you planning on doing a lot of touring around Orlando?

If the answer to both of those questions is "No" then you might not need to rent the van; Disney transportation is very accessible (aside from a couple of boats, and there is always at least 2 ways to get *everywhere* on property).

Additionally, with the Minnie Van fleet running their own accessible vehicles ($20/ride, fits up to ?4 - someone here help me, did we ever figure out if it was 4 + the chair or 3 + the chair?) you have an "Uber/Lyft" type option for use on WDW property as well.

It is 3 passengers plus the wheelchair (4 guests in all). I have heard that since the regular Minnie Van is for up to 6 passengers, if you have 5-6 in your party and need an accessible vehicle, they will provide a second at no additional cost.

OP - I don't have experience with accessible rentals. I was under the impression they can be very expensive, and with WDW transportation (now including Minnie Vans) as well as availability of accessible taxis in the Orlando, I think most guests don't deal with rentals.

We rented an accessible van once when our own van was broken, but have not rented one since.
There are several accessible van rental companies listed in the disABILITIES FAQs thread.

Non-accessible vans are a lot more than renting a car and accessible ramp vans are much more expensive than a regular van, so be prepared for sticker shock. As the other posters mentioned, if you are staying on site, you have accessible transportation for anywhere you want to go. So you might not use a van that much if you rent it anyway.

We are staying off site and doing Universal the first three days of our trip, so we definitely need a van then. We also have a lot of medical supplies, pumps etc for my daughter so we need the space. For the Disney part of the trip I realize we won't need it everyday, but the convenience of having our own vehicle is worth the cost. I realize it is very expensive but we have a few resort ADRs and having our own vehicle gives us the freedom and peace of mind to control our schedule. I hate waiting for buses, taxis etc. So we have been saving all year to cover the ridiculous cost of the rental. I wish we could bring our own van, but driving from Toronto, Canada to Orlando is not an option!

The same company bought our wheelchair van dealer here in Austin TX. I'm not sure if that has affected the service.

We used WVoA because it was the same company that Make a Wish used when we went on my daughter's wish trip.

We had the same company for our Make a Wish trip as well, last May. We were very happy with the service as well. Their quote was a little higher than some other companies, so I am trying to decide if I should just pay the little bit more with a company I know, or pay a little less for companies I do not know. I was hoping someone on this board might have experiences to share, but I guess not. Thank you very much for your response!

Looks like Mobility has bought everyone out. We had used Rainbow wheels 10 years ago and when you go to their site it redirects you to Mobility.

Just wanted to let you know that we went with Mobilityworks and were very happy with everything. Great van, very good service, we would definitely rent from them again. I wish rates were not so high, but it is what it is! Have an awesome trip!
