My original trip was supposed to be last Weekend, but cancelled due to Irma and rescheduled for this weekend. I'm so excited that I finally get to do something that I have always wanted to do; a solo trip to Disney! Leaving the husband with the kids, ask me if I feel bad!

Originally booked a stay at the All Stars Movie resort. Whenever I called to rescheduled I was only able to book at the All Stars Sports. Would have been my last choice of resorts really, but I don't want to seem ungrateful. I'm just happy to be going! Most of my time will be out of the room anyway.

What do you guys think of the All Star Sports? Any tips or suggestions? Also, if everything goes to plan, my plane should arrive just before 1:30pm. I am taking the Magical Express to the resort. I would like to be at the Animal Kingdom ASAP to spend the rest of the evening. If by chance I would like to go to the AK before my room is ready, will they hold my bags for me? I am only taking a carry-on with me, no bag check.

On Saturday I am planning on visiting the Magic Kingdom. I have read that the bus could take a good 45 mins to arrive. Should I just take Uber? Will it be faster and less hassle? Willing to pay the price for convenience. Where do they drop you off at?

Sorry for all the questions. I like to be aware!

I hope I can answer all of your questions. As you stated, most of your time will be out of the room so yes, you should have a nice stay. If you had mentioned you liked to stay around a resort and avail yourself of their spa and other amenities I would have warned you not to stay at Sports. My wife and I stay at Music evey year and like you we are there only when it is time to go to bed and we love our resort. If you arrive at MCO at 1:30 you will probably be at your resort around 3 or 3:30 given the time it takes for the plane to begin debarking, walking down to the ME station, getting a bus and finally the trip to your resort. Your room should be ready as that is the beginnng of the check in time. I usually arrive aorund 1:30 and have always had access to my room. If for some strange reason the room is not ready, they will watch your bag for you at the baggage check in area. Finally the 45 minute ride to the MK from Sports? Why so long. It usually takes 20 minutes for us. If you take the bus you are dropped off in the parking area for the buses in the front of the Magic Kingdom. If you take uber, I believe you will be taken to the transportation center and will have to take the boat across the lagoon, adding more time to your travels. Now for this I may be wrong but in all my years of travels, I have never seen a car at the bus drop off area unless if was a police car. I will be there in 61 days and I can't wait. I am so happy the Disney World survived the hurricane. I may be an evil person but I was more concerned about Disney World than I was for those poor people in Florida. Enjoy the magic.

Thank you so much for your response! I will take your advice and skip Uber. The 45min. bus ride to Magic Kingdom sounded odd to me as well.

Oh my goodness, your last line made me LOL.. I'm so glad that you will be a Disney soon and I hope your trip is the best one yet! Hopefully I can start getting my husband as stoked for Disney trips as well. We were there as a family in May 2016 and Feb. 2017 and he was Disney out! Me on the other hand, never! He said he wanted to take our next family vacation somewhere else. I understand so I did what any logical rational adult would do, ask for a Solo trip to Disney as a birthday gift, cause that is how adulting is done!

I understand. My wife and I made a few trips with our kids and then the grandkids. It took some time to get "stoked" as you put it. The planning and the trip itself was exhausting. THEN, we went as a couple-no kids. We have since mde the trip every year since 2009, twice in 2013. We find this vacation without the kids to be more enjoyable and truly relaxing. When you get older like us (mid 60's) you may appreciate it more as well. Not only are we there in 61 days but I have already booked for next February. Enjoy.

They probably say 45 minutes as that would be the maximum time expected to plan for. Buses usually arrive every 20 minutes or so. If you arrive right as the previous bus is leaving, you could have a 20 minute wait and a 20 minute ride to the park with 5 mintutes added in for loading/unloading and in case you have stops at the other All Star resorts. During the slow times of the day, the 3 resorts will share buses.

I'd typically take the bus because I'm not in much of a hurry. However, if you do ever want to get to MK quickly, you can also take an Uber or Lyft to the Contemporary Resort. It's a short 10 minute walk from there to the Magic Kingdom. It's much faster than getting dropped off at the TTC.

Have a fantastic trip!

I have no advice I just want to share that my cousin and I were supposed to go last weekend too and now we're going next weekend, everything was booked so we have to stay at Dolphin. I hope you have a wonderful time! And #disneytripsforallthebirthdaysplease
