Post 15: Be Our Guest List

:goodvibes

Dee we added a day to our November trip so now we're staying 11/17-11/26 BC
Thanks :goodvibes

Have a wonderful time on your cruise :boat:

I am considering staying at the Beach Club over Halloween. How is the bus service after the MNSSHP? I've not stayed deluxe before so I am not familiar with how crowded the buses can be. Value and Moderate can be torture. Thanks!

We stayed at YC/GF this past week and got so lucky with the buses. Never waited more than 5-10 minutes, even, to and from Disney Springs. However, I do not think you could ever say 100% that you are going to have some fluke, and have to wait a long time, at a long line. If you are going to stay til MNSSHP till the end or close to it, you are probably going to be on a crowded bus and have to wait. Consider taking an uber or Minnie van if you want to avoid that after MNSSHP. It will be worth it.

Enjoy!

How die you manage to get a king bed room, is that a preferred option with online check in?

Perhaps not requesting a king size bed is the way to go. Two weeks ago (8/19) I checked into the Yacht Club with my only request being two queen beds. The room number (2143) showed up on the app through online check in. It was a king bed room with a pull out couch. Down to the front desk to get a room with two queens. Easier said than done. No queen bed rooms available, says the poor front desk cast member from Lima, Peru. After much back and forth with the desk agent and the manager, they could only find a queen room over at Beach Club, along with a $50 room credit. Unfortunately the room she gave us at the Beach Club was a single queen bed with a pull out couch. My second appearance at the Yacht Club front desk resulted in us getting a fourth floor YC room overlooking the quiet pool (4090), with two queen beds and a day bed.

Checked in to the YC yesterday. The room is gorgeous, but good grief is it loud. We can hear our neighbors' conversations, stomping around, every toilet flush, the buses out front, and the worst is that our room is directly under the club level lounge so we can hear footsteps and chairs scraping loudly on the floor up above. We've just got one more night so I don't know if I should bother complaining. :guilty:

While our room is better located than yours apparently, I agree that the noise level is higher than expected.

We'll be there in less than a week now! Sep 8-13th! :cheer2:

:welcome:

Where are you staying?

Have a great trip!

Actually, not until December 1-7, 2018. Give the deluxe room at the yacht club time to gain some identity:).

I'll add you onto the Be Our Guest list for 2018.

Hopefully we will see some info about the YC Deluxe rooms before then, but like you have witnessed, there is not much out there!

:sad2:

I don't have any direct experience to offer. We left during the second parade at last years MNSSHP, and we didn't have much of a wait for a bus. We were also coming back from the Contemporary about 20 minutes after Hallowishes ended another night and the bus from MK to YC was not bad at all. I think we boarded the first bus that arrived.

But I don't know what it is like if you stay until the end. Hopefully others will give their stories.

Please let us know if you book here.

:thumbsup2

Also have the Captains grille, and peaking of which has anyone might know why I can not reserve a dinner reservation for any date in October, I can all Sept long but not in October. Just curious otherwise Ill make a call to the reservation line to get a spot

Word on the street is that the Ale & Compass Restaurant (formerly Captain's Grille) will be reopening in mid-October. Perhaps they are not taking dinner reservations yet as they will be training CMs to become familiar with the new space and menu.

I was going to like your post, except I didn't want to appear like I liked what you went through. That is not ok. The front desk really should have been able to help you without sending you from room to room to room!

:sad2:

I'm so glad that all's well that ends well.

Do you happen to recall the room number of the one at the BC with a Queen and pullout?

:magnify:

So sorry to hear that!

You probably should give your feedback about the room- are you willing to move to another room to get a good night's sleep. A bit disruptive, but I think I would ask.

:(

Even if you don't want to move, you might want to at least say something to the manager at the front desk, then when you get home, write to Guest Services and relay your experiences. The decision was made to remove carpeting, which at least muffles and absorbs sounds... they need to know what the results of that decision are.

Yikes! This was my concern when they started removing carpet from rooms with the remodels. Ugghh.

Hi all! We check in 30 days from now for a pre cruise stay. We adjusted last minute from post cruise to precruise so I had to piece together a plan. I was able to get 1 night YC cl sv on discount followed by YC gv for 2 nights. My kids really wanted yc or BC and that was the best I could do. A 3 night consecutive stay wasn't avail at either place.

We arrive late (9pm landing) on that wed pm so I am considering just staying at the Hyatt mco that night on points and canceling our yc cl sv ressie. Since we have to move rooms again the next night either way, I may as well save the $500. I will keep checking but I doubt anything is going to open up for me to get all 3 nights on one reservation.

We are looking forward to enjoying yc/BC! We will have a resort day then mnsshp that night. Next day we will relax then head to AK early afternoon. The following morning will head over to the port to board the fantasy!

I am planning on a car service so we can get to port earlier. Anyone have experience with pickup time for the dcl bus from yc?

After the cruise we are trying out WL for one night then fly home late Sunday.

Can't wait!

Single digit day...but I can't get too excited yet. Mother-in-law lives in Daytona Beach and is supposed to drive up and watch the kids, but Irma may foil our plans. She does NOT like to be far away from her place when hurricanes threaten - she rode out Matthew at a neighbor's house. Hopefully Irma's path will become clear in the next day or two. I'm praying she just spins up north and out to sea.

I'm ready for some Disney Magic & YC! We stayed at Pop last night due to an amazing flight deal that saved us hundreds. Let's just say, I'm not a fan! Beds are hard as rocks & the pillows are laughable. We also didn't have our luggage after 5 hours. I called at 10:30 to ask that they hold the luggage since we were going to bed. So, of course, they called at midnight to say they wanted to deliver our bags but we had the "Privacy Sign" up and didn't want to knock! Seriously?? I grumpily, in my half awake tone, said I'd come get it in the morning. So they called at 7 and woke us all again! oh well! Being anywhere at Disney is better that not being at Disney! I imagine the next 6 days at YC and dinner with the Beast tonight will make me forget all about it!

Out of Curiosity, were you in a refurbished room?

Out of Curiosity, were you in a refurbished room?
No. We didn't request one though. We are in the 50's section. I'm hoping to hear good things about the refurbished ones. I'm bringing my niece, step-nephew, their friends and my mom next summer and was planning on Pop or AoA for cost purposes.

Thank you very much, we are really excited already... OK I say we, my Mum and I are thrilled the guys are "uhhuh cool"!

Off topic for this forum but I had wondered about booking Narcoosee's for our first night on property in order to watch fireworks and then EWP but have read some very iffy reviews of Narcoosee's from all very reputable sources saying the service/food is not worth the price... Anybody have any input on this? I add to this by saying my Dad is hard to please with restaurants. We will definitely go to Jiko as I think that will be a hit. I had just thought fireworks and EWP would be a nice first night - may play it safe with an Epcot restaurant for fireworks...
We went to Jiko last week and we loved it so much, we booked another ADR for our November trip. It's funny because we had Narcoosee's booked but we really wanted to go to Jiko again and we replaced Narcoosee's with it. I've never been to Narcoosee's so I can't give my opinion on that but I can say we were very pleased with Jiko.

Wow. Thank you everyone, I would say that is a pretty consistent view that Narcoossee's is not for us!! Really appreciate your input and confirmation of what I was already thinking. It's such a shame though as it's a fab location. The fact that it is loud particularly puts me off, we don't mind louder QS or some TS restaurants but I think signatures should be a relaxed yet refined atmosphere! Thanks again everyone, you're all very friendly on this forum!! As an update I am looking at Tokyo Dining now, 3/4 of us love sushi and there seems to be great options for non-sushi lovers. Then a late-night dessert in France!
My husband and I love Tokyo dining as well. It's my husband's must do on every trip...

When doing online check in is there away to request a balcony?

Would love to be able to sit out there while DD sleeps!

Dee our dates have changed as we've added an extra day. We're now staying 11/17-11/26 at the BC.
Could you update us on the list. Thank you
