2017 DISNEYLAND RESORT HALLOWEEN TIME / MICKEY'S HALLOWEEN PARTY THREAD!

As far as characters during the party - are the princesses who don't meet in the royal hall ever out? Like Moana?

The last year the princesses met as Duos. The rare ones were Mulan and Pocahontas. Moana wasn't out yet last year.

Does anyone know if Snow White and her prince are out at the party? I think some of the princesses were meeting with their princes last year I'm correct.

Not last year. You'll find Rapunzel with Flynn throughout the day, but that is it.

The pre-party traditionally starts one hour before the party and lasts until one hour after the party starts. So for a 6:00 pm party start, the Toontown Pre-Party is generally from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Personally, I would probably head over there around 4:30 pm or so, but it's not critical to me to see all of the characters and do all of the trick-or-treating. Just note that they don't usually announce the pre-party, so we won't know for sure about it until reports come in from the first night.

If characters are your priority for a pre-party half an hour early won't do. At least it didn't work out last year. Then 45 minutes weren't enough. The lines were crazy long.

Can anyone confirm that, at least last year, Halloween Screams had projections on It's a Small World? I'm seeing conflicting things on Youtube. I think I'd rather watch the parade and fireworks there since it's less crowded.

I didn't attend the party last year, but I did in 2014 and 2015. In 2014 there were projections, but in 2015 there weren't. I did see someone else who went in 2015 say the projections were there, so I think it just must depend on the night.

Yeah, I see 2 Youtube videos that show IASW during Halloween Screams 2016. One has projections, one doesn't. Dammit. I guess I will have have to brave the castle/Main Street. :( Thank you for the response, though!

I feel your pain on this one. Getting a good spot in front of the castle is really hard to do unless you wait out there for a long period of time which sucks as you don't want to waste party time sitting and waiting for fireworks.

What is a better day to go to MHP October 3rd or October 6th? I know gay days are going on that week. I would like to go on the 6th so I can have the weekend to rest. What do you guys think? I won't buy my ticket untill September 1st, that's if the 6th is still avalibale over the phone

That's the one thing that's great about WDW's party. Like 3 minutes before the Hocus Pocus show, just moseyed on over to the Hub and got a great center spot. 10 minutes before the fireworks, moseyed on over to the Crystal Palace and got a great spot (though it was heavily delayed and we ended up leaving before it started). Curse the DL locals who have no problem waiting 2 hours for a 10 minute fireworks show. :(

Yeah, WDW is mostly tourists like you who are tired at the end of the day and don't want to sit forever/waste time and wait.

DL has a lot of locals who can afford to just show up and watch the fireworks and don't need to worry about missing 2 hours worth of rides. Stake out a spot for a parade or fireworks and bring a little picnic, then go home and sleep. Kinda sucks for other tourists and once in a lifers though.

Personally, I like the Friday parties more than the weekday parties because there is more time after the second parade to do things. In terms of the crowds, I don't know that there will be much of a difference because both are likely to sell out at some point.

I don't think this holds as true for the Halloween Party. It's a hard ticket event with a lot of other special activities that party goers wants to do (e.g., trick-or-treating, character meet and greets, etc.). There will always be guests willing to wait (locals and tourists alike), but I do think things are a little different during the parties.

I'll still probably need to camp out an hour before the parade to get a decent spot for the fireworks. :(

did anyone notice the whole month of October is blocked and not available yet for world of color, all dinner and dessert packages don't appear past september, I wonder since halloween stuff is moving also to california adventure if something is going on with world of color.

Well the good thing about MK is that there is a huge grassy area where people can sit in front of the castle to watch the fireworks at DL not so much as in the center there is a planter and statue of Walt etc. So not as much sitting room as MK. I agree you do have more time to get a better spot at MK but I believe its because there's a much larger sitting area that DL is lacking.

I've been watching for the first week of October to hit the schedule.
With only 46 days to October 1st, you'd think Disney could get it together.

I did notice the schedule wasn't out yet so Im guessing once the October event schedule hits it should unlock hopefully

This totally depends on your definition of "decent spot." If you want to be right in front of the castle, then you probably will have to invest several hours camping out in that spot for Halloween Screams. We've viewed from front row, center -- and, yes, it was spectacular. But we spent over 2 hours waiting and deliberately missed other party offerings. We've also camped out on a bench at the Hub for the parade and fireworks (not our first choice, but we were with friends with special needs). That required over 4 hours of camping out and taking turns holding the bench. Totally worth it for our friends' excitement, but I wouldn't ever do it just for us. And we've had great fireworks and parade viewing by planning well and being in the area where we wanted to be with less than an hour's wait (which is plenty of time for one person to hold spots and another person to go get corn dogs!). Decide what your priorities are for the party, make your plans (and back up plans), then go with the flow and the fun. You'll have a great time!

So, we will be going to the party on Oct 3, and I don't want to spend many hours to get a prime spot for the fireworks and parade. However, I still want to enjoy them and have my son be able to see them. What is a good spot for the fireworks that does not require a huge amount of time to camp out???
