Discounts 20-30% off Disneyland hotels August 6-Sept 29

Thank you! Can this be booked online or do we have to call the reservation line?

This first week I would call, because they won't pop up a lower rate and system won't know if you're a Disney card holder. But on the 18th should be able to book online

We have reservations for the Desert Inn and Suites next month for four nights. We want to stay at the GCH some day, with this deal it would be an extra $1000. Tempted.... :)

UGH I am Canadian and have no Card we are not eligible as Canadians, this week wait is going to kill me! We have seven nights booked so this would be so awesome on the Sun-Thurs.

FWIW, Orbitz and Cheaptickets coupons usually work on Disney hotels and they stack with Disney discounts if the wholesaler is passing the current promos along. Sometimes they have caps though (max savings $XXX type thing). A couple years ago we did GCH with Disney discount + Orbitz discount code. Orbitz listed the discounted Disney rates a day or two (I think) after they became available to the general public and I stacked that with an Orbitz coupon for an extra like 15% off. Worked great. BUT you have to pre-pay the entire hotel bill at the time of booking. I don't see any Orbitz offers right now but Cheaptickets is running a 16% off code GETMOVING valid until 7/30/17. (I just plugged in an Aug date at GCH and the coupon worked.)

I'm not an enabler in any way, just an informer...

Only making it even more tempting. That would put it at 46% off a premium room at GCH. Do you have to book it through Cheaptickets first to do this, or will Disney apply the Cheaptickets code when you call them?

Through Cheaptickets. The way it works behind the scenes is Disney sells a block of rooms really cheap to wholesalers like Cheaptickets/Orbitz (they're owned by the same company actually!) and the discount is so big the wholesaler can sell those rooms to their customers attaching an extra discount at certain times and still make money. Disney does not have access to the wholesaler's inventory or coupons or anything like that.

(If you go that route fyi it can take a few business days for your booking to 'migrate' to the Disney booking system. We were able to do our room requests with Disney but it took a little bit for the booking to make its way through the systems to them.)

Cheaptickets is sold out on our days. :(

I just called Disney to see about the GCH standard rooms. Somehow, the numbers didn't work out like I thought. Website says for the four nights, $512 average per night. That should be $1536 after discount, then $1797 after taxes. But, I was told it would be over $2000 when I asked about it on the phone.

They weren't able to apply to our existing reservation, but after a lot of work they were able to rebook this and cancel our old one. Saved us $300 though, so worth it! And for anybody else trying, we are room only; standard. She did say they have very limited rooms at this special.

What are your dates? It's only good Sun-Thurs, so if you have any weekend nights, those would still be at regular rate. We're a Wed-Sun so it was only good for two our four nights.

Ah, that's the detail I missed. We're arriving Wednesday, leaving Sunday. So, only 2 of 4 nights.

Edit (no reason to reply to my own post): We decided to do it and got a GCH Standard Room reservation. We wanted to do a Garden/Courtyard view room, since it would have only been about $60 more, but they didn't have any left. I've only walked through the lobby, looking forward to staying there. :)

Ooh, this is exciting. We're booked in the second half of October (when they typically have another sale), so maybe that means that there will be an even deeper discount. Fingers crossed.

Got my 30% took awhile, CM did not have a clue about the special, but took care of everything. Very nice and helpful. Thanks for the special notification. Just like a senior discount used to be.
