What are your favorite (cheap) souvenirs?

Hi All,

With each visit, DW and DD go on a pin-trading frenzy. It starts with a short visit to a pin station right after arriving and escalates to chasing down any poor CM within 20 yards, wearing a lanyard. This always adds a lot of fun to our visits and we have several shadow boxes filled with them on our walls at home that remind us throughout the year of our successful hunts.

When we visited the parks a couple/few years ago, we loved collecting the Disney-themed You Are Here mugs. They could be the most useful souvenirs we have.

We're heading there next month and they're looking forward to the Kingdom of Cute blind boxes (ok, I am too.. I'm looking at you, People Mover!).

So I'm curious.. what fun, (cheap), unique, souvenirs are you looking forward to on your next trip?

Thanks in advance for your ideas,

TandDandE

My all time favorite WDW souvenir is a pack of matched from the Atlantis Bar and Grille.

I used to always get a mug (from wherever I went) but I have no more cabinet space for those so I switched to magnets. I get one from every vacation destination we go to. They are probably the cheapest souvenirs I get.
I also like practical stuff like kitchen gadgets and key chains.

My next trip will be the F&W festival 2018 so I will definitely get the magnet for that and that is probably it, except for the D&B purse for that year which isn't cheap LOL.

When my boys were younger we also were in a pin trading frenzy! Loved those days!! We still look for pins but we aren't chasing anyone down anymore. My boys have a great collection! I usually buy a coffee mug and lately I am on a kitchen apron kick!

We love mugs, but like PP we have almost too many. For some reason i enjoy my morning coffee just a little more in a Disney cup.

We loved collecting pressed pennies. That was our task for our last family visit. We filled up a whole book of them.

My son loves to do the pressed pennies and that's the only souvenirs he came home with last trip. I like Christmas ornaments and get a couple every trip. I also collect ears and we each pick a new set each trip to add to our collection.

I am a die-hard souvenir cup collector! One of the reasons these are my favorite cheap souvenirs is because you get the cup and a drink for less than $5! They usually have a different design in each park and are updated frequently. We also save the paper cups from the parks' quick service restaurants, especially the Christmas and Halloween ones.

Mugs here too, but I ran out of room :(
Always magnets no matter where we are traveling to- for the ones from Disney I try to get magnets with the year on them.

Popcorn buckets. I'm an elementary school teacher, and can always use another container for supplies. They remind me of Disney while I'm at work.

I also like nice resort magnets, to reminisce about places we've stayed. I have a great, large set of magnets representing Fort Wilderness. I wish all resorts had such nice magnets. I put them on my school filing cabinet.

Haha. That screen name checks out.
That's awesome.
No, seriously, I make weekly visits to thrift stores just to search for these cups! I look for other Disney Parks items too, but mostly cups. I've collected refillable mugs from every Disney resort when they each had their own design plus different versions of them. A trip to Disney isn't complete without a souvenir cup!

Park maps.

When I was little it was those oversized souvenir maps most theme parks sold; these days my kid is happy with the freebies (but would love for them to sell larger ones). Like I did, he'll pull them out to reminisce (and plan). Plus, they are flat and don't collect dust.

It used to be those little tiny vinyl display toys back in the mid 1980's, but I didn't see anything like that in Jan 2017. Lots of over priced action figures, too-big Vinylmations and playsets galore.

So I think it's gotta be all the random little things that were unique to this trip - napkins, maps, our note from Mousekeeping, the shopping bags, the celebration buttons...
