From what I read yesterday, Trump is not cooperating with the requests to record a speach.

Not exactly. The article said,

"That's a part of this—just getting time with him [to record]," said the source. "I guess there's also been some back-and-forth on his proposed script, which is something they're hoping to use as a 'Get Out of Jail Free' card. If he's not available to record, they can use that as a legitimate excuse… that's kind of what Disney's hoping for."

What does the "back-and-forth on the proposed script" statement mean? How much effort is really being made to record him? As the article states and others have posted, this is how they might get out of doing it altogether. I don't necessarily blame them, given the potential consequences.

I guess we just read it differently. Based on the source and the wording of the quote, I personally can't tell who is "cooperating" and who's not. I don't expect to ever know for sure.

Pretty much ALL of what we have been hearing the last 5 months is "rumors"

The only concrete proof of ANYTHING right now is that in Nov. Bob Iger said "a bust was being prepared"

Thats the only proof of anything we have right now.

I like this! If you throw in non-presidents Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr, I think you'll have a real winner!

I think it's time to get rid of the whole thing and put something new in there.

Now that I disagree with. This attraction goes back to Walt and his admiration for Lincoln.

Walt passed away long ago, it doesn't need to be on both properties. He had great vision but not a half century ahead of him vision so the clock is ticking when most of the "keep the classics" just won't be around anymore and I'm sorry if that sounds harsh but it's time to update with the 40 and under in mind. Some of these lands don't really make sense anymore... When something has no line, it's time to retire it or re-envision it.. It is a nice sized space that something else could happen in like a haunted mansion table service.

But I would move this one as it's an overlapping theme. Put it over in the american pavilion or a variation that might be able to share the same theater over there and alternate shows..

They do keep the HoP up to date by adding the new presidents. Doing that keeps it relevant. Not every attraction needs to be a 3D philharmagic type show or something.

we're just going to disagree, it's just a unpopular attraction in a prime spot something better could be that is maintained well to me. no line=time to go/move in my book to make room for something that'll chip away at all these other lines. I don't think it would work in a different method also but it would be very fitting over in epcot and then we can get a rethemed liberty square or even change it to be more fitting to the anchor attraction of haunted mansion.

but i'm also the person that would just bulldoze down that large center set of buildings and redo adventure, frontier and liberty square keeping the attractions along the edge (and the swiss family robbinson tree, I still can't believe they wasted money overhauling that thing). Maybe keep skippers canteen around.

Not every attraction needs to be a major popular thing though. You need some of those less popular attractions that eat people to help with crowds. That's why things like the HoP, country bears, and carousel of progress. The people mover doesn't always have a line does that need to go?

I would love to see a HM table service, and generally agree with you, but at the same time I love Figment and would be terribly sad to see his ride go. So I guess I can't fully agree.

If they eliminate the speaking role, then I hope they stay consistent with that from here forward. But what if a woman is elected next? Do they not give the woman a speaking role? This is fraught with all sorts of issues. They need to stay the course and continue what they have been doing.

Sure it is, but picking and choosing which sitting presidents to give speaking roles to is clearly asking for trouble and bad publicity.

that ride hasn't been the same since kodak dropped sponsorship.. I also like figment and think he needs to stay, but I don't think that setup he has now is good.

I'd agree with that - his ride needs help (or he needs a new one) but he needs to stay somewhere.

We're both making the same point, I just want more attractions that more are interested in so instead of hiding a couple hundred people for an hour, we can hide a couple thousand and make all the lines more even and get back to when everything was popular as everything was a 20 minute wait back in the day.

Just for the sake of argument, I wonder if this is even possible nowadays with the way the current FP system is.
