I am currently booked at AKL Aug 27th - Sep 4th with a travel agency exclusive offer. I have been told that free dinning can not be combined with this offer. Would any of you choose AKL with no free dinning or a moderate/value with free dinning?
I'd choose a value with FD for that length of stay. If you were doing a longer stay, I'd recommend a split stay of FD and agency exclusive. That way, you get the best of both worlds. That's what we do. :)

So new to all of this! Have never gone in the fall or experienced the frenzy of FD. Really hope things fall into place the way we want

We will not arrive the first day at the airport until 5 something and we figure at least 1 1/2 hrs to get to resort from there. So we were think around 7:30 to 8 getting back to the resort, but we will want to eat dinner and the lasted I found is 8:30 so do you think we can do one at 8:30

You'll have to decide what you're comfortable with. Personally, I wouldn't make an ADR anywhere on my arrival day. Too many unknowns and unforeseeables to risk the non-cancellation fees. You could make an ADR once you're at the airport or on MDE. But as long as everything goes without a hitch, 8:30 should be doable. You may want to have an uber number in your back pocket, just in case the bus to DS doesn't come soon enough.

So I am trying to get a res for 8/30-9/5. Would you do WL or POR? Would you take FD or contact a TA about their specials? It will be myself, husband, and 19 month old! We love having the dining plan, but in not sure if it's as good as a deal for Food and Wine festival? Help!

No reason you can't go ahead and grab a FD deal on Monday and then explore your option

We will be arriving after FD typically ends, Dec.30 so I won't have to be worrying about FD this year. We had it last year and loved it. My question is this....we have not booked out resorts yet (staying at a value) should I be worried that they will sell out of rooms tomorrow because people will be booking FD tomorrow? I know that it can carry on past the 23rd or whatever the length of stay is. Should I be booking the resort today to be safe? We would normally have a TA do it but she hasn't gotten back to me this past week.
Thanks - and good luck to everyone in the morning!

The angle of the article seems to be talking about how this year is different. I think KimBean is right. I think they were just addressing the changes. Value didn't change in what they get from what we've heard.
i think next year values will only get breakfast free..just like the UK version

Can you do it online?
I don't see why not. It's been a few yrs since I've booked the RO Fall discount. This is also assuming that RO Discount drops tomorrow as well. If it was something I really wanted, I'd set the alarm and be up early, early tomorrow a.m. for best selection and to grab the room category that I wanted.

We (myself,DH,adult DD) are booked at POR, Dec. 6-14. I am so torn, we love POR, but I know there will not be FD. Our days cannot change because our daughter is attending a convention, and asked us to go with her:o I've priced out OKW and it would be somewhat better with FD, but I am not sure I want to stay there. We especially love the beautiful grounds at POR and from the pics it doesn't seem as lush at OKW. I just feel kind of stupid staying at POR and not taking advantage of FD. I am such a fan of a good dealo_O If it means anything this is our 3rd time at WDW but we haven't been back for 15 years.

Ah but I'm talking about an already existing reservation. I think I need to call for the discount to be applied to that, right?

I'm debating if we will go again. We went once before and it was DS 3rd birthday. We had a great time and went on everything with no lines! Only people on splash mountain! We dressed DS like Peter Pan and DH and I wore Halloween shirts. I normally love to dress up but it's so freaking hot! This year it will cost almost an extra $300 for the 4 of us so I'm still deciding. We would go 8/25.
We are going sept 12-20 and doing the party!!!!

I'm not as certain about modifying for RO discount. I've never done it. If you have an existing reservation, and have the modify button, then you can modify online to add FD when it drops. Hopefully, others on this thread who know if you can also do this for the RO discount will chime in.

I will direct this question to a more appropriate place. Thanks for the info my man!

So topic of the day
What is everyone doing tonight to wait for FD drop?

I am going to be here for the early part of the night, then I'm going to be sleeping. I booked through a TA. She already has my info about changing resorts, since we're currently booked at All Star Movies. She knows we want a preferred room at a Value, and knows we want to upgrade from QS to the regular plan. I cannot speak with her tomorrow until the agency opens at 9 a.m. So all in all to sum up I am trying to be very Zen about the whole situation and not freak out. If it's meant to be, it will be. *sighs*

I'm with you. Can't deal with it any longer. I'm letting TA handle it. I am letting go of my type A Disney personality

Yes that article was link earlier.
It just makes for even more conflicting info about the number of nights and days on tickets required.
Ugh. The ticket length is such an important piece of info for me. It's $750 more if I have to get 4 day tickets . If it's 4 days I am room only or offsite . I wish we knew for sure .
