What do you bring to the parks when you don't have kids? What bag to bring?

It's been YEARS since DH and I have gone without the kids and I can't remember what I carried or what bag I brought. It's going to depend a lot on how hot it is, if we'll need more water and a spray bottle/fan thing. But I am drawing a blank.

I know you can get water at any of the counter service restaurants, but I don't want to wait for 20 minutes for a cup of water every time I'm thirsty. So a small water bottle will have to come with me. We've had a stroller so it's never been an issue bringing everything but the kitchen sink!

Anyone have a bag they love?

i'll be at the park this weekend without kids for the first time ever! I'm planning on bring a cross body small bag that would hold a bottle water, and space for my phone and sunglasses.

I brought a small backpack, and it held my phone, portable charger and cord, band-aids, digital camera, money/credit card, and ID.

Baggallini cross body. Collapsible water bottle, Altoids mint tin medical kit, small thin wallet, travel size sunscreen, phone or small camera. I did get a new LeSportsac Mickey purse for Christmas so I may take that instead.

If I was going without my kids, I would bring:

wallet
Cell phone, charger cord, & battery pack
Park ticket
Park map
A pen
Travel sunscreen
Hand sanitizer
Water bottle
Hand held fan - not the battery operated ones with a squirt bottle but the traditional one that you flick back and forth in front of your face

I only ever bring a small cross-body purse with a small wallet (essential cards and cash), sunglasses, sunscreen, brush, eye drops, chapstick, a couple granola bars, and a water bottle.

You don't wait for 20 minutes to get water.
You walk up to the counter and ask for it and they already have them sitting there ready to go.

I like my VB hipster.
I carry...
-small wallet
-phone
-travel size hair brush with extra hair ties
-chapstick
-tiny perfume
-small plastic cosmetic jar with OTC pills
-eyeglasses case only if I'm going on an upside down ride
-poncho for Splash Mountain
-water bottle if I feel I will need it

I wear a hat and put sunscreen on before I leave for the parks.

I go frequently and I like my cross body. I carry wallet, cell, water bottles (I also get water at cs as I drink a lot), charger if I am there all day, glasses case, chapstick, bottle of stuff (head, stomach, sinus, etc), poncho if I am doing water rides, hand sanitizer, travel sunscreen and a hair tie and clip. A lot of what has been said minus a few. My bottle of stuff is vital to my having a great day because if I forget it, I could be miserable :)

While it is true it's easy to walk up to get a cup of water, that's not really feasible if you're in the middle of a rather long line and you're stuck in the sun (like RSR), so unless it is supposed to be cool, I'd still bring a water bottle ... but that's just me.

I've done a crossbody, but I like the Eddie Bauer packable sling bag ... perhaps not the most fashionable, but it lets me bring said bottle of water, bottle of stuff (a la previous poster), snacks, sunscreen, wallet, phone, charger, chapstick, hand sanitizer, small thing of bandaids, comb, and if needed sweater/packable jacket (if I plan to not go back to my room during the day). I've also thrown my baseball cap in there when dining or on a ride that I'm worried it will fly off on.

As I've gone usually in November (and will go late October this year), so if I do head back to my hotel late afternoon when I head back to to the park I tend to forgo all that and just wear a light weight "active" jacket with largish inside pockets and zip outside pockets, and bring phone, wallet, chapstick, comb, maybe a granola bar. That won't really work if you're going in summer.

I try not to carry a bag but it never works out just because I don't feel comfortable with having my phone in my back pocket - I have seen people lose their phones on rides, or drop them without even noticing. For just my phone, tickets, $, sunglasses, Ibuprofen, Band Aids, and chapstick I carry a Kipling Iani or a Kavu Napsack. The Kavu is super small but it is light, and the straps have clips so I can attach stuff to it, like when I got one of the travel mugs and just carried it around all day hanging from the bag. The Kipling is very flat so that even my sunglasses are a tight fit when my phone is in there. But I use it when that is not an issue, like at night or when not worried about my sunglasses flying out on a ride. Kipling doe shave small bags a little bigger than mine that would fit more.

For when I carry more stuff I usually carry a Keen Brooklyn II bag. It looks small but can hold tons, is super light, and the strap is very comfortable. I seriously think this is THE perfect bag! Has a mesh bottle holder inside, zippered pocket on flap (this is where I keep my sunglasses while going on rides), back pocket, mesh pocket in main compartment, zippered pocket and a key clip in front section.

I just got a small Kipling backpack to use this upcoming trip just because I am obsessed with Kipling bags - their zippers are like butter :p

I bring a backpack with a change of clothes, different shoes, a sweatshirt, and possibly some snacks that I keep in a locker. I carry a fanny pack with my phone, cards, lip balm , and portable charger. I wear my sunglasses on sunglass straps so I don't have to put them in my bag when I go inside!

We don't have kids so it's just DH and I when we travel to Disney. I've always carried a LeSportsac Deluxe Everyday Bag (I think the model is now discontinued but there may be some older colors floating around out there online to still buy) because they weigh practically nothing and I take the following:
  • ziploc bags for water rides when DH and I need to keep our watches and cell phones dry
  • cell phone
  • hair ties
  • band-aids
  • hand wipes
  • poncho
  • lip gloss
The extra space in the bag is nice because I can store small gift shop purchases in it.

The only thing having a little dude with is caused us to carry was the same type of stuff for us, but for him. (Ok we didn't carry cloth diapers for us lol)

So going alone means I carry my stuff and not his or Dh's.

Sunscreen sunglasses hat extra clothes depending on the weather, bottles of water (anaheim water, like Orlando water, tastes atrocious to me and since Dasani is just filter she municipal water I don't drink that either...we get lots of spring water on our trips)...phone camera lipgloss type stuff...

We were never big Sherpa type people when ds was little (had stuff stolen from under a stroller early on so we pared it down to what we would carry) anyway so it's really just lowering the number of people we are carrying stuff for.

Dooney Disney leather crossbody.
Phone, ID, occasionally cash. Chapstick, lipgloss, a few bandaids and a few small cut pieces of moleskin. Spare hair tie and a few bobby pins. A tube style aleve bottle with a few aleve and a few dirietic.
A standard bottle of water fits. But I prefer to carry my 24 oz contigo. If I don't, I forget to drink enough water and my damn feet swell.

I have no issue just carrying it by the hook. If I get irritated my husband always wears and empty string bag and i'll put in there.

OMG, we used to carry a backpack and I feel so free now that we've stopped doing that! I would either carry no bag and wear shorts with comfortable and deep enough pockets for my phone, or wear a super tiny purse with just my phone, and maybe rain ponchos, and plastic bags for cell phone if I'm planning to do water rides.

This. Pants or shorts with good pockets and I can easily take my wallet, phone, fuel rod charger, small tube with ibuprofen and chap stick. All set!

I also bring a small crossbody with room for a water bottle. I do have a child but she's old enough to carry her own things. I made the mistake of putting my phone in my pocket (deep pocket too) on big thunder and it fell out. Luckily, someone found it. But now I make a point to zip it up in my purse.

I've been carrying a Vera Bradley Mini Hipster for my trips. I fit a small umbrella, license, credit cards, etc., cell phone, portable charger, chapstick, Advil and reading glasses. We have a rental car, so i will usually put a light jacket in the trunk just in case, but we usually go when it's warm/hot so I never use it. So nice as it's small and light but fits everything I need.

When we have gone without our kids we went very light, bringing what we could carry. We have used a backpack, but in general dislike carrying them around and fiddling with them on rides.

Phones (also works as camera) and water are the two musts. And maybe a snack. That and the tickets and ID/Credit card is all we really need if we don't have kids.

Even with the kids we travel pretty light, though the stroller holds food and diapers that we don't need when it's just two of us.
