Craft beer drinkers unite

Does anyone have a current tap list and/or list of canned beers offered on the Fantasy? Looking for some good IPAs to drink while lounging by the pool.

Good IPA and DCL is an oxymoron. You might be able to get Loose Cannon. Maybe. They stopped carrying Jai Alai.

Wow, basically Disney has no actual craft beers, from reading this post. I am a stout and porter guy and that mass produced Irish stuff does not count.

Ok, where have you purchased beer in nassau that didn't involve taking a cab? We had intended on buying some to take home from the brewery right by the port but after contacting them and finding out they want $17.50 for a six pack I'll pass I think.

I've had their beer. It's not worth $7.50, much less $17.50. That's just stupid.

You're looking at about $3 each which is a bargain compared to what you would pay on board and well below the avg price of a 6 pack from other craft breweries. About 1.2 miles east of the port there is a liquor store (Pit Stop Wine and Spirits) that will have less expensive beer. Another .25 miles past there is another liquor store called Jimmy's (this is on Shirley Street). At either of them you're looking at most of the basics (Miller Lite or something lik Kallik)

I'm not going to get into semantics or anything about craft brews but the average here is probably around $10. I get that they are a tourist trap and will most likely get whatever they want from their beer. I was hoping to buy it to bring home as gifts since I work at a brewery and maybe replenish our room stash. No biggie though, it sounds like we'll just deal with whatever we can get on tap on the ship :)

+1. I don't think I've ever paid $17.50 for any six pack that is 6.9 ABV or less.

Hence the reason I bring a sixer of Ten Fidy with me.
Doesn't ten fidy come in 4 packs? You add another 2??? Also I think Death by Coconut is better than ten fidy.. your thoughts? Have you had the rum BA ten fidy & rum BA death by coconut?

we were in Nassau last week. We walked the 5 blocks from the pier to the straw market. We passed a fat tuesday and the pirates brewery, but we stopped into a liquor store next door and bought beer. I don't think hey had the best selection but the refrigerated section had a lot to choose from and the prices were reasonable.

I've had them all. Living fairly close to Oskar Blues East is a big benefit for us. I put the Ten Fidy in a six-pack snap set to keep them together. I typically have a few that have been in the cellar for at least a year, as I rotate them through.

I fondly remember the days of drinking Pliny on the Currents deck, watching the Havensight Mall recede from view.

How much are you paying per pint at your local breweries? I'd love to find a craft brewery that sells their beers for $2 or $3 each.

From a brewery or a packaged store?

From the grocery store. No package stores here, and I work at the only local Brewery which we sell our 22oz bombers cheaper than the local stores. We will start canning this summer. Generally six packs of anything "considered" craft beer run 8.49-10.99. There is one store in town that will special order stuff for you and charge much more than that.

Pints at the brewery are $5. Craft beers at local bars and restaurants run $5-$8.

I can get a six pack of Highland Gaelic Ale for $8. You can get sixers of the legendary Cigar City Jai Alai for $10. Cigar City Maduro Brown is $9. Dale's Pale runs in the $10-11 range. All are infinitely better than the junk I've had in the past from Pirate Republic. Their stuff, until a couple of years ago, was contract brewed in Massachusetts. Perhaps they've gotten better at what they're doing since they now own their canning/bottling line, but I'd drink a couple at the tap room before I'd commit to buying an overpriced six pack.

Buying a 16-20 oz. "pint" from the tap in a brewpub or a beer bar has a completely difference price structure than buying a six pack of 12 oz. beer packaged for resale, so the "package or brewery" question is irrelevant.

No arguments here on the quality of Pirate Republic.

$5-$8 seems close enough to what ive seen at most other breweries Ive been to (local and while traveling). I guess the difference in my mind was I didnt think Pirate Republic was sold packaged in any store (I havent seen it on a shelf anywhere before and honestly havent researched much beyond that). I just assumed they were charging on premise pricing ($5-$8 per beer, although not pints) for off premise packaging because they had no off premise pricing structure which I have seen other places that served packaged beer from the brewery that was not shelved anywhere else.

If they are charging $9.99 for a 6 pack for Island Pirate Ale in the store and $17.50 from the brewery, then yeah Id agree...thats absurd.

Didnt see the edit until after I posted but I agree completely. I get that 100% (spent quite a few years in the industry myself). I did not think Pirate had a packaged pricing structure because I didnt think they sold packaged products anywhere else but onsite.

Could be ignorance on my part because it hasn't been good enough for me to look for on a shelf, but Ive just never seen it.

Anyone know the latest offerings on the Disney Dream? Looking for IPAs or Pale Ales. I just saw they removed the Jai Alai in this thread, so curious what it was replaced with. Cruising in early May. Thanks for any info.

It was replaced with Loose Cannon, at least a few months ago. Hopefully somebody else can tell you the most recent.
