**Official March 2017 Thread**

I almost don't even want to go anymore.

:charac2::charac2::charac2::charac2:

As luck would have it, I am sitting in the ER at Lebonheur Childrens Hospital with my son. While playing on the playground at school and climbing the twisty tower thing with holes, his shoes got caught and when he "jumped" his foot didn't let go. He flew face first into the ground only stopping himself with his forearms. Broken the bones (both radius and ulna) in his left arm near the wrist. Because of how bad the break is, he requires sedation to set it and then we will have to wait for him to wake up. Waiting till 11pm to roll around so we can get the sleeping stuff going.... I just don't know what else is going to happen or if we will even make it to Florida at all.

I'd post the arm picture but don't want y'all to :crazy2:

Everyone who is there or going soon, PLEASE ENJOY IT EXTRA WELL for me and my family.

Oh man! I'm so sorry :( As terrible as this week has been for you, it's good to get all the bad juju out before you head down there! I've been alternating with anxiety over the trip being perfect and comforting myself about the fact that we'll go again...and even if it's super crowded and the weather isn't perfect...it's still making family memories.

Quick question for the ladies is it too early to wear white capris?
I got this pair at Kohls and they are bright white.
Debating to pack them or not.

Murphy's law dictates that you will spill the most stuff on yourself while wearing white lol. I would worry about sitting in chocolate or getting my hiney wet sitting on a ride.

OH NO! I hope everything goes well and he heals quickly.

I've had so much fun counting down and planning with all of you :grouphug:
At the airport now getting ready to board. Should be landing at 9:30 and at the CR by 10:30 :goodvibes
I'll try to post updates with crowds, ROL and weather.
Off to Disney party:

YAY!!!! Have a WONDERFUL time!!

:grouphug: Gosh y'all are swell :cutie:

Thanks for all the reencouragment. We are home now, resting. I attached a picture of him with his cool cast, he wants to show off.

Tell him his cast is awesome! :)

Praying that all goes well with your trip! I just found out a snowstorm is expected for the exact morning I'm supposed to fly down to Florida. No snow all winter and now we get a forecast for a doozy, but on the exact wrong day! I'm hoping that the forecast is more severe than it actually turns out to be.

I'm bringing white shorts......but then again I wore them on our November trips and December too. I say fashion rules don't apply at Disney...anything goes. :rotfl:
Before I read your quote I was going to tell Tammy @wdwnut61 that I wore my white capris in Florida last month and back in Nov. lol

I almost don't even want to go anymore.

So sorry that happened! Glad he's home recovering and I hope you are still planning to go!

Glad you got there safely! Hope you and Kathy have a magical time and yes, please post updates!!!

Perfect first day room was ready early. Went to Epcot and we didn't have a problem with the crowds. Now I'm comparing to Thanksgiving week but there was plenty of room to walk around. Very warm today with a light breeze.

Here today and still here lol. The crowds are actually smaller today but lots of college and high school kids. Not sure why our last Epcot day was so insane but this Friday has been much better! Just waiting to get in to Les Chefs de France. Even had a reservation for awhile ago but alas, still waiting.

I finally have a free moment to log back on here. We got back home late Wednesday night and I spent all day Thursday unpacking. It is 30 degrees here back home and we got a lot of snow here overnight too :crazy2:. March is a beautiful month to go to Disney. The crowds were higher than we expected but the weather made up for that . It didn't rain once during any of our park days and the weather was in the mid 70's-low 80's during our trip, and the evenings were pleasantly cool. The Flower and Garden festival at Epcot is really nice and it definitely had the World Showcase hopping last Friday night! This was our first time going to Disney during a seasonal event. The gardens and topiaries are so beautiful. Butterflies on the Go was my kids' favorite garden area as well as the playground area next to the Lightning Mcqueen topiary down from Test Track. My favorite outdoor kitchen foods were the sugar cane shrimp skewer at La Isla Fresca and the pineapple dole whip with rum at Pineapple Promenade :sunny:. Rivers of Light was very nice but our favorite night show was Fantasmic at DHS. It was our first time seeing Fantasmic and it was definitely worth getting the dining package for the preferred seating. So happy we got to see Wishes one last time too. I wrote a little summary of our stay at Pop Century over on that thread on the Disney resorts forum. We enjoyed that resort and were able to get two connecting rooms in 50's building 3 on the third floor and had a lake view and could see the Star Wars fireworks from our location. We had an awesome trip and we can't wait to go back. I hope everyone that is there now or is going soon has a magical trip. I enjoyed sharing plans and anticipation with everyone on this thread :thumbsup2.

Where are you at? We are in Ohio and same thing here. No snow most of the winter- but now the extended forecast looks awful. We are driving so I don't know if that's worse or better. Hoping it goes away, we still have 11 days.

Northern Virginia, near DC. My flight is Tuesday morning at 8:30, and that seems to be right as the snow is ending. Problem is it's supposed to have been snowing hard all night, so who knows if I'll be able to make it to the airport, etc etc.

Seriously considering switching my flight to flying out Monday night before the snow starts!

I am glad you are having a great time. We have one day til we check in at SSR but we decided to get here early so we arrived last night and are staying at Vacation Village with my RCI points. We just couldn't waste a Friday and Saturday at home!! We at off to DHS tomorrow & the SW dessert party that night. Maybe we'll see you there. Have fun!!

You should do that! Keep an eye on the airline websites as I imagine they'll be offering free switches to those in the east trying to leave Monday - Wednesday. Even if they don't have anything posted yet, it wouldn't hurt to call and ask. If Tuesday is going to be as bad it sounds in the east (11" predicted here in PHL), the airlines might be happy to move you, 'cause there's going to be lots of scrambling once that storm gets close.

We're just back from a week in Orlando. The highlights of the trip were remarkably the hotel, and a restaurant.

We have been dvc members for twenty years but this is the first time we stayed in a one bedroom Villa at Kidani Village. It is so much roomier and better overall that one bedroom villas at our home resort, the Boardwalk, or at any of the six other dvc resorts where we've started in the past. We especially like that it has two full bathrooms (though even one and a half would be appreciated). And of course the savanna view cannot be beat. We were seriously considering making this our last visit for a long time, selling our dvc membership, but I could be very happy just making Kidani Village a destination resort for us, as long as we can exchange into it no problem. Who needs the theme parks??

Except then we would not be able to return to Tiffin's. In the past we have had other favorites, Spoodles, Artist Point, Narcoossee, etc., but Tiffin's is the new king. We had both lunch and dinner, and had both lunch and dinner at Nomad Club, over the course of the week. Excellent food and service. (Especially Ritch, our server at both of our visits to Nomad Club.) I worry what will happen once Pandora opens. Will Tiffin's become so popular that that adversely affects its quality? And will we ever again be able to meander up to Nomad Club and casually plant ourselves on one of those wonderful couches overlooking Pandora?

Rivers of Light was supposed to be or main highlight this trip. But it was only okay. I understand the considerations that preclude fireworks, but I though they could have employed more fire at least. And the story was much less cohesive than I thought it should have been.

We did manage to visit practically every hidden and secret path in the park this time, at least that on which I could push my wife's wheelchair. So much to see if you take the time to see it!

We also went to Epcot. The festival is just too diluted now, with all the food kiosks and impromptu playgrounds and such. Frozen Ever After was good, but it doesn't warrant the tier I status it has now. We did use my employee benefits to take a couple of rests in the VIP center at Spaceship Earth, and the back door entry to the ride. That was cool.

The bottom line is that we will be back, something that wasn't 100% assured when we arrived on Sunday. I doubt we'll see our home resort ever again... If we start having problems exchanging that may prompt us to sell. But as long as we can sleep on the savanna, we will be happy.

I'm actually piggybacking off a work trip, so it's super easy to change everything, just makes the adding up of what's personal time vs work time a bit complicated. BUT! they upped the chance of 4 in or more of snow to 75%, and said snow could continue through midday Tuesday, so I called and got it all changed. Flying out Monday late afternoon now, before the snow starts (*fingers crossed*--before it's predicted to start at least!), and just booked a La Quinta Inn by the airport for that night. Hopefully I should miss it all!

Also, 11" predicted for you? No fun!!

Oosh, hopefully it's all gone by the time your trip starts!!
