Plan, plan and plan some more-AKA Mom's driving her son nuts- A September 2017 PTR

Happened upon your PTR by chance.

I live with fibromyalgia. I struggle, and hate how no one really "sees" me with a problem, so it seems like I am complaining about nothing. I spend a lot of time trying to figure out how to keep moving.

Your son sounds amazing. My teen boys don't enjoy the planning, but they do like to give advice on where we will eat (we always do Deluxe Dining!). My Littles are still in the "it's a surprise so you don't annoy is for 10 months asking when we will go" stage.

So glad I am following along!
OMG YES!! Fibro is one of those hidden diseases that no one sees so you must not have a problem. Most of the time I'm okay, but on my flare days. Wow.... I feel like my other friends think I'm complaining about nothing and making up stories when I tell them I don't feel like doing anything that night. So it's always nice to know that there are others out there that feel my pain. If that even makes sense. LOL!!

My son has a few places that he wants to eat at and he makes sure that they are on our list of to do's. We did the regular dining on our last trip. It was okay, but about half way through my son declared that it wasn't enough food. LOL!! So, this time we are doing the Deluxe dining. Especially since he is bringing along a friend this trip. I don't want either of them complaining about being hungry 20 minutes after eating. LOL!!

I had to laugh and you comment about the littles. That's just so precious.

Thank you for following along. You'll see that I ramble a bit. I try not to, but can't help it sometimes. LOL!!

I think the Express option is a good deal.

I've only ridden Tower of Terror once and I ended up crying hysterically so never again :rotfl:
Yeah. Just seeing it in the park makes me nervous. So, I'm probably not going to do it. Chris tried to tell me if I did it, then they would do a water ride. No. I don't think so. I don't think even going with them on a water ride is worth that. LOL!!

Yeah. I figure even if we only use it a few times, mostly on Disney Studio days, it will be worth it.

I totally get it! I just don't tell anyone, I homeschool my kids and unless I HAVE to be somewhere, we just stay at home on my bad flare days. My husband and the kids are supportive. Even when I do crazy things like plan to figure out how to run a runDisney race.

Have y'all ever eaten at Sci-Fi? A teen boy tip: on the Deluxe DP you get drink and dessert and Sci-Fi will let you get a milkshake for your drink AND a second milkshake for your dessert!

The Littles are precious. Crazy, but precious!

Oh wow...Thanks for letting me know about the milkshakes. Chris isn't one for sweets or desserts really, but he does love milkshakes. Vanilla only. Yes, my child is the only kid that hates chocolate. Jordan calls him a communist. LOL!! We did the Sci-Fi a long time ago. We might have to try it again.

Yes, my child is the only kid that hates chocolate.

My niece HATES chocolate! It works well for me, since I don't like things like skittles - so I can get her to trade with me! My sister likes it, too, as it makes sorting through her Halloween candy easy!:-)

We do love Sci-Fi. I'm a huge fan of fried pickles (one of the appetizers), and getting two milkshakes in one meal is always a hit for the kids. I have never been to the Prime Time Cafe, so I understand I'm probably not as informed as most. But our Hollywood Studios day is always Hollywood and Vine for the Disney Jr Character Meal (remember those precious Littles?) and then Sci-Fi for the milkshakes!

Actually, one of my favorite memories is when my oldest boy was 14 and we did the Disney Jr Character meal - and JoJo/Goliath from JoJo's Circus was there. Holy cow, the look on his face when he met his childhood favorites. Made my heart go pitter-patter. <3

Okay. So, I forgot to mention my little mishap the other night. I was in bed and Chris comes home from work. I could tell by the sound of his voice that something was wrong. He tells me, mom, did you know that there is a huge puddle in the garage.

Uh no. Crap. I throw on my shorts and go out to the garage to find that the water heaters reserve tank has sprung a lead. Crap. So I get on the phone with my plumber and he agrees to come out the next morning. He was here the next morning. He walked me through shutting it off....There's never a dull moment in my life apparently....

For a moment I had a panic moment. Why? Because whenever we go on vacation we have our dog sitter come to the house to watch Buddy. Well, he's a huge Disney fan also. He used to work with my husband and they would always talk about Disney. Well, him and his husband are planning their Disney trip. No big deal. Then he tells me the dates. Oh crap. They are the same dates that we are going. Well crap. LOL!! Actually just the last few days of our trip will be an issue.

I usually pay him $15 a day. Because we live in the middle of nowhere and it's about a 30 to 45 minute drive from where he lives. Well, I have a friend that literally lives 5 minutes away. I'm considering having her do it this trip. And my next door neighbor has offered also. I just have to make a decision....

Oh and I'm going to be making envelopes for the Mousekeepers. That's something we've done for every trip. At least the trips where we've stayed on site. When he was little that was always Chris' job. To make sure the envelope was left out. We also print out cards for Cast Members that go above and beyond. Just an extra little thank you to brighten their day.

On our trip in 2012 we had an amazing bus driver. We had gotten up early because we were going to Chef Mickeys. Well, we were trying to figure out the best way to get there. So, we asked our bus driver. He told us how, but then said, I'll take you there. That way you don't have to wait or risk being late for your ADR. To say that I was speechless was an understatement. That's the kind of magic that I love about Disney. Which is why I print out the cards.

Okay. So I broke down and bought a Minnie backpack today. Well, I actually got three of them. The place I ordered from had a special buy 2 get one free. I'm a sucker for those deals. LOL!! This is one of them:

Minniebag.jpg

I'm also a sucker for purple. LOL!!

They were on sale for $25 each. I'm super excited about it. I'm going to give one to a friend. I also got a pink one and a black bag with a red bow.

I'm still trying to narrow down our dining choices. So far, it's going very slowly. LOL!!

Where did you get that?! It's the cutest!!! :lovestruc

So, I ended up getting seriously mad at Target. Because yeah, I'm buying a lot of gift cards so that I can pay off my reservation. Well, I went in there the other day and the card was denied. Okay.... So, I call them and they told me that I was making too many large purchases and that I wouldn't be allowed to buy more than $200 in gift cards. Really? I've had the same card for 4 years. Before that, since he was a Target employee, I used my husbands and we made much larger, up to $1000 at a time, multiple times a month.

So, I got a little mad. LOL!! I told them to cancel my card. The woman on the phone starts in on, well you save 5% with every purchase... Blah, blah, blah. I replied, I know the spiel. I used to work as a cashier at Target and used it on people to try and get them to sign up. Cancel my card. Well, you can use cart wheel. Okay. Cancel my card. They finally cancelled it. I've found that I can get them at Sams for the same as Target. So, I got the rest of my gift cards there. LOL!!

I tried to get Chris to agree to do a Back Stage Magic tour with Jordan. I told him that I figured that he and Jordan would want to spend some time away from me.He looked at me and said, "Why would we want to do that?"

I figured that they would get tired of being around me all the time. He literally told me that I'm making it sound like I'm a burden to them. LOL!! That's not what I was doing. I tried to tell him that they should have some time alone. He wouldn't budge. LOL!!

So, I'm spending my time looking over videos and menus and other trip reports and dining reports. Trying to decide on where we want to eat. Just when I think I have it figured out, I see or read something else that looks good. Ugh!! Luckily I still have a little over a month before I have to make my ADR's. I have a feeling i'm going to need every second of that time. LOL!!

Sorry for going on and on. I just feel like everyone can sympathize with me here. LOL!!

I ended up getting the black and red because it'll match everything better but they were all too cute!

I can't believe the Target card was limiting you on what you could buy. Well if they don't want your money, then it's good you found them elsewhere.

I still have to sit down and figure out Adrs there's too many choices :rotfl:

Yay!! I loved them all and would have bought one of each!! LOL!!

The stupid thing is that my husband worked there for 25 years when he passed away. They had never done that before. I don't even shop at Target anymore. And now that I cancelled my Red Card I have no reason to shop there in the future. I got seriously annoyed with them and might or might not have used some colorful words. LOL! I don't really remember, I just know that they upset me and I'm like the Hulk when I'm mad. LOL!! Plus, it was like the third bad thing that had happened to me that day. So, I was really over it. LOL!!

There are so many places that I've never tried. My son is so picky that I'm afraid of going anyplace with exotic things to eat. LOL!

I know I had a serious dilemma! I really wanted the pink and the purple but I knew the black and red would get more use.

:rotfl:

Now we might have to plan our adrs around 2 more people. Josh asked his friend and his friend's girlfriend if they wanted to come. I'm not sure how serious they are about it though, they keep saying they are. But I told Josh I need to know by the adr date so now we might have to pick some restaurants like Be Our Guest that we've done but that's new to them. I'm picky too :rotfl:

Oh and about the water rides. Something I personally love doing is getting quarters and using them to soak the people on the Dudley Do Right ride. I actually go to my bank before we go and get 2 rolls of quarters. They are earmarked for that ride. :rotfl2: I love how the people on the ride react. The last time, on of the machines was giving out two tries for one quarter. The people think that they are in the clear. And then bam.... LOL!! It's so much fun!! I've been told it's a waste of money, but I don't care. It's sooooo much fun. LOL!!

Those quarter machines are gone

Some other set up is in their place

Just trying to save you a trip to the bank

Enjoy your plans you are sharing here!

Well darn. Are they gone from the Popeye ride also? I loved doing that on our trips. Lol

We went to the Disney Outlet store today. I got a matching shirt for us. Then I got 2 other shirts for myself. I wanted to get 2 of the Mickey shirts and a matching Minnie for myself, but they didn't have my size in the Minnie shirts. Dang...Well, I just got a shirt to match the boys shirts. I'm good with it though. I'm still going to do a few tie dyed t-shirts. LOL!!

Then I got me a Grumpy shirt. Because I like Grumpy. Then the other shirt I got was a Minnie shirt. It's pretty far away so we make a day of it.

Does anyone remember the Disney Dollars? Well, Chris and I were talking about it on the way there. He asked if we could get some. I told him that they don't make them anymore. To say that he was upset was an understatement. LOL!! We used to get them all the time when he was little. His grandparents used to get them for him for his birthday. He told me that they were good in teaching him how to manage his money. Because we would let him put them in his wallet and whenever he wanted to buy something he would take out his Disney dollars and pay for it himself. It was a good learning experience for him. I'm pretty sad that they got rid of them. Chris is upset too. LOL!! Since Jordan has never been I think Chris wanted to trick him into believing that he could only use Disney dollars to pay for things at Disney. LOL!!

Chris told me yesterday that he wants to do MNSSHP. I think it's just because he wants to use his costume again. He always dresses up like Jake from State Farm. LOL!! Name tag and everything. Last year, the cast members gave him extra candy. I was like really? He had about twice the amount that I did. LOL!! And he was getting high fives and cool costume from practically all of them. LOL!! This year, I'm going to see if my agent can give him stickers and we can dress up the name tags a little. LOL!! I think it would be an extra touch. LOL!!

I haven't been to a Disney outlet in forever I need to go!

I never went while they were offering Disney dollars, but that sounds like a good way to teach kids about money.

Ooo what day would you do Mnsshp? Lol that's a clever costume idea. We've never dressed up much at the party but maybe this year.

I hadn't been to the outlet store in a long time.

Yeah, the Disney dollars were fun. They had pictures of all different characters on them.

I haven't really decided on the date yet. LOL!! I don't really dress up. My costume last year was a T-shirt with a pumpkin on it. LOL!!
