The below are listed as across the streets from the parks. Any reviews of either? Currently Tropicana inn is the cheapest

I'm wondering too, especially about the best western. Anyone stay there recently? We usually stay at Candy Cane Inn and like it, but just wondering if we should give something else a try. Also thinking of the Grand Legacy. Any thoughts appreciated!

We've stayed at the Tropicana. It's an easy walk to and from the parks. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. Couldn't hear noise from other rooms which was nice. We will stay there again on future trips. The hot tub was nice after a long day of walking. The price is affordable.
The Desert Inn & Suites might be a little less money. But I don't feel it's as nice as the Tropicana.

We stayed at the best western park place inn this past August. We've stayed there numerous times. It's our 'go to' hotel because of its location and free hot breakfast. It's definitely nothing special but we've always had good experiences there. Our room is always clean and the staff have been pleasant. The pool is very small so if you are pool people you may not like it. We aren't swimmers so it's never bothered us.

Great details--thanks! Noise level was ok, too? Yeah, the hot breakfast is definitely a selling point!

I don't think it's any more noisy than any other motel with outside doors. I've never found it to be bad.

All are very similar in my opinion. If free breakfast is a factor in your decision, BW is the only one that offers it. Make sure you are considering the parking fee at each hotel and factoring that into the total price. A couple other similar choices close by are Park Vue and Anaheim Desert Inn & Suites.

I second the Best Western. It's nothing special but it's a decent place to sleep and the included breakfast is fine (not amazing, but it's better than just cold cereal and muffins which I've gotten at other places). We stayed there a year and a half ago and will be there again next month. Unless you stay at the Grand Californian you really can't stay any closer to the parks either.

ive stayed at the best western. It was ok. Nothing fancy but a place to lay your head !

My brother and SIL stayed at the camelot this past nov. and didnt have any complaints

My husband and I stayed at the Tropicana in August 2016. We really enjoyed it the rooms were silent, the valet was absolutely AWESOME, the walk was super easy (and we'd just checked out of the Grand Californian when we checked in there) and I loved being able to book a king room!

Park Vue also offers a free breakfast and they also have free parking, which adds up with a rental car to park :)

OK, let's look at the full list. At the Pedestrian crossing, you have the BWPPPI&MS and the Park Vue Inn.

Going north from the BWPPPI&MS, you have the..

Tropicana
(Blank spot where the new bridge will be going)
Camelot
Fairfield Inn
Courtyard
Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel

Then behind the Courtyard, you have the Holiday Inn Express and Quality Inn on Manchester..

Headed South from the Park Vue Inn, you have the...

Anaheim Desert Inn & Suites
Best Western Plus Anaheim Inn
Grand Legacy at the Park
Anaheim Plaza Hotel & Suites

I have stayed at BWPPI and Tropicana...felt they were equal. I only ate the free breakfast once...it wasn't memorable. Would stay at either of them again.

Of this list, I've only stayed at Tropicana. That being said, Tropicana is our "cheap go-to" motel. It's clean, it's nice and open, the rooms are fine, it's safe, and it's a really short walk to/from the parks at the end of the night. Our favorite is still Park Vue (which is *right* at the pedestrian entrance currently). Park Vue is our overall preference for a few reasons: closer, nicer linens, returning guest discounts, they call a cab when asked (Tropicana seems have a kickback situation they call when you ask them to call a cab), a fairly extensive hot breakfast, and awesome customer service. They have also stacked discounts for us before (returning guest, with military discount). However, most trips we just do Tropicana. I may stay at Park Vue for my solo trip next winter, because I miss them, but it's $30+ more a night, usually.

Just for the sake of argument, because it's the title of the thread, I always like to point out that the "Good Neighbor" designation means very little... It means the motel/hotel signed a contract with Disney to allow Disney to sell some of their rooms. In trade, they get to sell Disneyland tickets in the lobby, and have cute Disneyland signage, and they get the "Good Neighbor" designation, which sounds like something great, amazing, a "stamp of approval from Disney" kind of thing. But, there's some great hotels/motels that only sometimes have the designation, largely because they didn't want to pay for it any given year. I've watched Park Vue hop on and off the list often, as has Super 8 on Katella (another favorite of mine, but a longer walk).

I've stayed at both Tropicana and Desert Inn and Suites with DIS being the latest stay. Tropicana is one I would definitely recommend, DIS is one I wouldn't.

We have stayed at the Trop 3 times. They have great military rates (including former military- not just active or retired like with Disney hotels). Rooms are decent size, mini fridge, microwave, and it's pretty quiet! Walk is 4 mins from hotel to security check. Love it! Downside is expensive parking and no breakfast.

We stayed at DI&S this past October as they had a $99/night promo and I booked it 4 months out. I had nothing but issues with them. We checked in and 3 (!!!) times they called me and demanded me to come to the lobby because they showed I didn't pay at check in or my payment was declined. Each time I would take time out of my vacation to go and show them my bank account and finally on the 3rd time they realized its bc even though I paid, they were trying to also charge the card I booked with (that expired bc I got the card with the chip). So they would have double charged! Not only that but room was a bit tighter, water was lukewarm at best, and we could hear the vending machine and elevator all night. You also pay for parking here too. Upside was there was breakfast included, which wasn't bad. Location was great too.

I just want to point out that Tropicana also has a returning guest discount however sometimes the public discounts ($20 off/night if staying 5+ nights for instance) are better.

FYI
With the East side Entrance, construction noise might be an issue at a few of the Harbor places.
You can find information in this thread http://www.disboards.com/threads/new-parking-structure-pedestrian-bridge-question.3535621/

For our October trip I have booked DI&S to be a little further from construction.
The rooms at DI&S aren't as quiet as the Tropicana. But the parks usually open earlier in the day during the dates we'll be there.
