The water on the ship is actually very good. If you haven't tried it, you should. I am a runner, so I always carry a refillable bottle with me. The one I use on the cruise is decent size (about 24 oz.) and has a wide opening on the top, which is convenient for filling with ice, and an insulated cover which keeps it cold. I find this great for walking around the ship, the treadmill in the fitness center and going on excursions. I just refill it (with ice and water) at the drink station on deck. But if you go this route, just ensure you use one of the disposable cups provided to fill the bottle.
But on Carnival, you can pre-order a 12 pack of water for $3.99, and two six packs of beer that will be waiting in your cabin on arrival. Carnival also puts a one Liter bottle of water in the cabin for every returning guest, so there's no need to lug anything onboard their ships. I wish Disney would take a hint from that and do something similar.I know it is more expensive, but no way I am lugging water onboard. Still like to have some in the room in case of an emergency. I know we are not on Carnival, haha.... but still prefer to spend a bit to be prepared.
DCL policy requires any beverages brought onboard by guests be in their carry on bags, not checked. Time was that many full cases of water/soda were taken by the porters to be handled as checked bags, but DCL doesn't allow this. Yes, the porter at the dock will say that you can check it, but they do not work for Disney, and they're wrong.I've read here on the DIS, that you just bring a pack of water with your luggage and the CM's bring it in to your room!
They are the same if you preorder they will be in your cabin when you get there if you order on board you have to wait for it to be delivered. Is it cheaper to pre-order the water bottles from the gifts and amenities before your trip or to buy them on board or are they the same?
