Bad rides for the very tall?

I feel like I asked this before, years ago, but I can't remember what the responses were! My dad is 6'4 with very long legs. In the past he's had trouble with rides where a bar comes down and locks over your lap - his knees come up so high when sitting in the cars that the bar literally can't go down all the way.

So which Disney rides does he need to avoid? Grateful for any input!

My husband is 6'5" and my son is 6'6" (with long legs) and there is no ride they have had to avoid. Space Mountain is a challenge to get comfy but they ride it without hesitation.

Do you go on any 'kiddie' rides? I'm wondering about, like, Dumbo, 7DMT, that kind of thing.

This was the one that came to mind right away with me too. I'm only 5'11" and it's hard to get in the car at space mountain.

My husband is 6'5 with long legs and refuses to ever go on space mountain again. He gets big bruises on his legs every time. No issues with anything else really. 7DMT is tight but he can make it work (granted he's only ridden it with our 4 year old so he doesn't have a full size adult next to time).

No issues with lap bars on anything. And we ride PP, Pooh, etc about 10 times each trip because we have 2 kids under 5.

DH is 6'3" and built like a linebacker. He says nothing was "unrideable". Space Mountain and Mine Train were tight but doable. We rode most kiddie rides with DD and the tightest fit for him was the teacups.

Oh god I don't think I could get him on the teacups under any circumstances! :rotfl:

I'm 6'4" with a medium/athletic build (why does this sound like a personal ad?) and have not had any troubles on any of the rides. As a previous poster said Space Mountain can be a little tight but it isn't horrible. 7DMT isn't too bad. The biggest issue that we have is BTMRR because the lap bar only comes down to my lap and my wife is 5'2" (with her big girl shoes on :) ) so she tends to slide into me and around the car/whatever it is called you ride in (my mind is shot after a long day and we leave for the airport for our Anniversary trip at 4:30 am tomorrow 9/24/2016).

i'm 6'4", long legs and nowhere even close to skinny.

Don't bother:
- astro orbiter

Yes but very uncomfortable:
- barn stormer.
- 7dmt, this is whre really long legs might be a problem as it's a close to your legs bar and it just gets over my legs and they are stuck in that position until the ride is over (the wall is closer to the seat than it should be). again ridable, just don't expect luxury.

Yes but with a catch22:
- space mountain, do not sit in rows 1 or 4. rows 2,3,5,6 you put your legs under the seat in front of you. you'll look interesting getting out but you'll fit just fine.

Yes:
- everything else.

Haven't done in awhile:
- mission space. I remember fitting fine but it was very tight with the design of the capsule you sit in. not for the claustrophobic.

I would say DHS RnR. However I am taller. RnR is a once or twice a trip thing for me. Space Mountain is 2-3 times per trip.

As a wife to a 6'4" 250lb husband, I agree completely with what Accident said about Space and 7dmt. I don't doubt the comments on the Astro Orbiter or Barnstormer but he's (dh)never ridden them. Probably never will, lol!

Dh is 6'7" with a forty inch inseam. He is normal weight not real big not real thin. He does not rise space mountain. He can't get seated comfortably enough to make it enjoyable. Everything else he can do. Rnr each car has two rows, the back row has more room. Crossing his legs as he sits somehow helps. They do give him his own seat on goofy coaster even without asking.

We're both tall and tried to get into one carriage on the astro-orbiter! Never again! Other than that, no serious problems!

Space is the only ride DSis who is on the taller side refuses to ride and cause if I don't think I've rode for about 5 years

Stitch's Great Escape always hurts my shoulders. I sit very straight though, DH is taller than me and slouches but it hurts him too. Also, Stitch's Great Escape is pretty much bad for anyone anyway lol. Also the astro-orbiter is NOT tall person friendly. At all. Oh, and even at 5'11 I have trouble with my knees on 7DMT. Doable but not particularly comfy.

Dumbo is actually super roomy leg wise.

I'm only 5'2" and find It's a small world uncomfortable

I was going to say this exact thing! I'm 5'4" and IASW is miserable, and my husband is 6'3" and vowed to never ride again. After riding with our daughter on her first trip, we just don't go on it anymore.

My DH is 6'5. He said he rode Space Mountain for the last time this year - he was saying 'OW!' behind me the entire ride. Every curve, slammed his knees and he had bruises the rest of the trip. We are hoping Disneyland's version will be more comfortable since the seats are different!

He only fits with 1 other person in the teacups - we have tried 3 and one of us had 1 leg practically hanging out because it wouldn't fit in the floor :rotfl2:

DH just reminded me that my 4 year old niece was basically air born the entire ride on BTMR with him because the lap bar was at his level and not hers.
