Disney's BOARDWALK INN Information & Questions

Wow lounge is busy tonight. They are actually serving the wine tonight so it must depend on how busy they are. There were many upgrades the last two days so our quiet lounge is no more:sad1:

Sounds like they were at lower occupancy club level so they had some upgrades from regular rooms to club level. No biggie just not much room at times now and manners not always abundant. :rolleyes1

We just arrived today, room ready at 12pm, love it so far. We are CL but outside the doors, couldn't be happier, our balcony is huge, with a boardwalk view to our right...Room is immaculate! Very impressed! CL staff the friendliest we have ever met.. We were so happy to hear that Flying Fish was opening earlier, but very disappointed to see our favorite dishes removed from menu

This just in from @pas130. I've never seen this offer before. I wonder what percentage off rack rate it is and how many guests actually take advantage of it? Very interesting and pas130 said she would try and call later for more details.

Don't get to see those on the Villa side, but that would be an interesting find.

My family and I are so excited to be staying at Boardwalk Villas this December! When we were at WDW earlier this month, we had breakfast reservations at Cape May and decided to explore Boardwalk before our ADR time. As excited as I was before, I am even more excited now! Can anyone tell me if they still have acts and performers on the boardwalk in the evenings? I have heard some say that they don't still have acts, some say that they only have performers on certain days, and other say that they have just as many performers as ever.

They have a rotation of the performers, with more of them on the weekends than on the week days.

RESERVATIONS OPEN TODAY!

The news was already broken here by @oceanmarina and @AGoofykindagirl, but here's the FLYING FISH GRAND RE-OPENING ANNOUNCEMENT and menu:

Thanks for posting. Sadly, I just can't get excited about the place and I really want to. It was one of the worst meals we had at WDW, and just can't get the nerve to return. The only two things I found interesting were the 'tour' appetizer and the Wagyu beef. I was hoping for a seafood entrée at a restaurant with the name "fish" in it.

We DISers are quite famous (or infamous) at Innkeepers Club. It's so cool to meet my computer friends in real life, meanwhile my kids just roll their eyes lol

Every seen the movie, "The Three Amigos"? Yes, we are infamous, which is a lot better than just famous, because we are bigger than famous. :lmao:

I've met several of the DisDads around WDW, but not sure I met anyone from the Boardwalk thread. And yes, my girls roll their eyes as well.

It is 30%off and of course available just to torment me lol. No changes yet.... Busy day today at Epcot and I need a nap but Mommy had to do some laundry. How conviently located right by the elevator on the third floor. When I but it in the dryer it'll be wine time in the lounge! We are loving our stay even just chill axing in the room is a vacation! I've been amiss taking pictures since Pokemon are being caught by my Princesses. Thank you to @WDWKOOK for being you and taking care of all the work

Oh I got to meet @Dispro1 and @trishadono today briefly (planning on sneaking to see @BlueSkies at the Poly as well)
Ah yes the laundry. Got to know that room too often last week. It is in a convenient location though. Glad you're having a great time.

They always offer upgrades at Check-in if there is capacity. I have been offered an upgrade at check-in many times, some times a free upgrade and other times for a discount. You just have to ask at check-in.

Hope we have more DISmeet photos soon. If only doing laundry at home worked this way! It is my pleasure posting your photos - we all love photos!

My experience has been that Friday - Sunday is noticeably much busier in the parks and in the resorts and CL lounges. Just curious how you know the additional guests have been upgraded from non-CL bookings? Did the CM or guest tell you? I wonder if they're pouring now so as to lessen the amount taken since there are more guests?

This was our experience when we stayed at the Innkeeper's Club, but I will say that at some point, at all CLs we've experienced, there have been some days that are much more crowded than others and some guests who were ill-mannered or broke some rules. Some CLs will enforce them and some will not. It's really hard to transition from a peaceful and pleasant lounge experience to what you experienced yesterday.

It never hurts to politely ask and the worst that can happen is you have to remain in the room category you booked.

For anyone that is currently staying at the BWI CL do you notice any difference in how crowded the lounge is compared to in the past? I was just wondering if the new rooms they added to the CL are affecting the staff or the room in the lounge. This was talked about last year when they were adding more of the fourth floor to the CL but I haven't heard any commits about a more crowded feel to the lounge. Hopefully it has not affected it at all.

This was my first experience with CL.

But we were never NOT able to find seating for my family of 5.

Seating is a little tight in there, thankfully it was just my daughter and i this trip but I agree about seating. Unlike the Polynesian lounge that has multiple levels. You could snag the sofa and chairs right outside the lounge though.

Yes we have spent much more time in the lounge this year and you overhear conversations from everyone, guests and CMs. Right now as we are waiting for our Tiffany Towncar to the airport we sit in the lounge with nobody else. there was a large family that checked in yesterday and with all the other check ins it is just busier. Not sure so much because of the new rooms that are now club. I will say if they do change the whole fourth floor over like some have discussed, they will have to expand the lounge.

Just done my online check in. I have a standard studio booked so have just requested a high floor and left it at that. Excited that my first visit is getting closer :flower1:

I hope you have a safe trip home and we really appreciate all your photos and updates you've posted, @sfbank. Your furry family will be so happy to be getting out of the kennel soon!

 Wow - lol. When we were there a couple weeks ago, they had peach sauce to go with the chicken waffles. It wasn't a big hit with my family, but it was fun to watch facial expressions when they tried it!

@pas130, who is there now, reported to me that they are no longer serving the chicken in the waffles, unless I misunderstood her. I thought she said the CM told her they weren't popular.

Your trip feels more real now!

I think it's an interesting idea, but I can see why it wasn't very popular. I think many people see mickey waffles and get really excited....until they notice the chicken part. One of my DD's did ask a CM for some maple syrup, and the CM did check but reported they didn't have any.

@pas130 reported maple syrup being found for her DS yesterday. I guess they got some from the tree out back:laughing:

Chicken was in the waffles about 4 nights ago.

This was yesterday that @pas130 mentioned the chicken was no longer in them, but again, I may have misunderstood her text.
