That is CRAZY! And scary! I think we'll just leave our snacks in the room!

I do, however, get amused at the pictures of the stroller thieves (aka squirrels) in the parks.

We keep our quarters and pennies (for pressed pennies) in a mini M&M container. We came back to our stroller once to find our change scattered everywhere, and a family sitting nearby told us one of the stroller thieves had pulled it from our bag and pried that sucker open looking for candy!

So I read previously that the DME bus stops at either CB or POR then BWI/YC/BC correct?

DH has no idea we are staying at Beach Club! He thinks we will be staying at POP or POR. When I booked BC he had mentioned how much he would love to stay there and I know he will be ecstatic! I am trying SUPER hard not to tell him and I know he will be more surprised that I was able to keep it a secret. I would like to keep it quiet for as long as possible and I am guessing getting to DME at the airport is the longest that will be.

Our last 2 arrivals at the YC were very late night, the DME stopped at CBR, then YC - continuing on to BC & BWI

You would have to hide the yellow tags tags from him or he will see the name of the resort on that. If you manage to keep it a secret until the plane lands then it will definitely be revealed when you check in at the first DME check in station. Then the bus driver announces where he will stop, too.

Quick studio renovations update question - I read the update post at the beginning and the latest update shows that the second wing is almost done. My question is - how many wings are there? I am a little confused by the map because I've never stayed DVC before and am renting points . Thanks! Hoping for a murphy bed for my November trip!

I'm pretty sure they are estimating the BCV renovations will be complete at the end of August, early September so in that case you would be all set.

Just make sure you hide those yellow tags at your home when they arrive in the mail and then when you tag your luggage at your airport if you want it to at least last until you arrive at DME. The bold BC will give it away!!!! Have fun with the surprise!!

Happy dancing as we were able to reserve an Illuminations Cruise for next one. Shh...I haven't told DS or DH yet.

Has anyone had experience with ordering private dinning from the Yacht Club for the Cruise? In my initial phone call I was offered a veggie plate and chicken nuggets. Um...Looking for something a little bit more interesting. They promised to send a menu but I haven't seen anything yet.

We did the Illuminations Cruise last year and it was awesome! I hope you enjoy as much as we did. We did not order food, since we had an ADR prior. However, they provide a basket full of snacks (cookies, chips, etc.) and a cooler of cold drinks (soda and water) which are "free".

If you are staying for a longer trip you may need to call down closer to your departure day. I asked at checkin and was told to call back a day or two before leaving. I called back 3 days beforehand and got it sorted then

Cool. Thanks for the tip. We typically stay for a week and haven't had a problem or maybe I just have a bad memory, too many trips and they run together! I know the late check out availability is housekeeping driven. We will certainly be requesting for our upcoming August trip as we have a 7:00 PM departure flight. Happy we will have lounge access guaranteed for the remainder of the day at least after Check out.

Sandwiches are made to order and yes you can just get a side of fries. You can also trade out either the drink or dessert ( or both) for extra fries when using a QS meal. We often traded the drink out and shared meals as we had our mugs with us and used them for drinks. We always asked to come back for the dessert after we'd eaten main meal so out Mickey bars didn't melt

Years ago, before we bought DVC, I told DW we were staying at POR but to keep it a secret from DSS (her disabled son that lives with us who is now 34 going on 7. lol). Then, I just drove us up to the Beach Club, "surprise". Basically, I had her keep a fake secret just to spring the real surprise on them both. It worked pretty well. I have no problem keeping things a secret or waiting. I guess I just know it's coming eventually and worry about other stuff instead.

No
They are doing the renovations wing by wing. There are all size Villas in each wing.
The expected completion is sometime in August or September, so your chances are good, but not certain.
