What is the worst mistake you have ever made?

Not buying our company stock 8 years ago when it was below $1. It's around $50 now and has been as high as over $70.

Singing "Me and Bobby McGee" in Karaoke on that cruise ship in 2007 in the main theater auditorium room thing. I had no idea that there were like 18 bars of music and no singing in that Karaoke song version and I had nothing to do on stage but wait awkwardly for my singing part to happen again. About 12 bars in I actually said "awkward" into the mic. Lead balloon, people. Lead balloon.

Talking myself out of going to school to being a vet tech. It is what I would love to do for work. Doesn't make a lot of money but would make me happy. I was scared of all the science work and doubted myself. 20 years later in a job I hate I wish I would have went and followed my dreams.

Not finishing college in the 90's when the economy was booming and I was making just as much money at my "college job" that I would have at a job in my field of study. Having graduted in 1994 and thinking I knew everything about everything, I realized by 2001 that the economy is not always going to be through the roof. Went back and got my Bachelors in a better field of study in 2009. Wish I would have done it earlier - before kids, mortgages, and obligations gave me less options. I would have loved to become a speech therapist or a school psychologist. Instead I went for HR Management with a minor in Psychology in the (futile) hope that someday I will go back for my Masters. And now I work as an Analyst in Supply Chain. Fun, fun....

But without those mistakes you wouldn't be where you are now and I'm sure you don't regret the things those mistakes gave you and taught you.

Not taking more pictures before digital cameras came out! I convinced myself that film development costs were just too much even when I could have afforded it. The older I get the more I believe pictures are priceless. :guilty:
