Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

We were there is past December at the start of PW. It was a last minute trip and the only value room available for us was at POP. Turned out that the little PW kids were at POP. The only signs we saw of them were at breakfast in the food court and cars in the parking lot with team logos. I asked at check in if the PW kids were in any certain area (and could I have a room in a different area pls) but I was told that they were all over the place.

If this year is the same it won't be a problem. The kids we saw last year were probably under age 10 so most would not be out and about on their own and certainly not up making noise late at night. The way it was explained to me was that the first weekend when it starts is busy and then as teams are eliminated they go home so by Tues/Wed it's considerably quieter.

Most of the negative things I've read about PW is about the older kids and the parents of the older kids. Although I think some of that negativity is based on things like kids just being rude and oblivious to others around them. Which is just a teenager thing period.

Thank you, this is just what I wanted to hear! I thought the little kids might be better supervised, I'm glad you had a good experience!

Checking into POP 2 weeks from today!! I'm looking for some feedback on room location. On previous stays we've been in 70's, Building 10 and 50's, Building 3. I liked both areas just fine, but am thinking about trying something different this time and requesting 60's lakeside. I like the idea of being closer to the bridge to AoA while still being relatively close to Classic Hall. What do you guys think of this location?

How long have the Surrey Bikes been available for rent for POP/AoA Guests?

POP had them in the early days-nice to see them back!

Now if they could just rent some paddle boats or something for Hourglass Lake!

60's Lakeside is an awesome location! We loved it. We are thinking the same with our upcoming vacation, I'm looking at 60's lakeside or the backside of 70's with somewhat a lakeside view.

Do you remember how much the bikes were?

Could someone tell me about the POP bus stops at the parks? Are they always the furthest away from park entrance?

Hey guys! Gotta question, and sorry if it's been covered. I'm following the thread, but can't remember coming across it...We're staying @ Pop for the 1st time in Aug for DD's short surprise bday trip. So excited that hopefully DH will find some Pop love! (He didn't like the last value & is stuck on mods). Our package w/dining & 10 day PH tix (bc we'll be upgrading to AP when there) is 8/3-8/6. We're driving & I had booked a hotel off property for the 2nd so we could start the 3rd as a full day since trip is so short. Well duh, light bulb went off this am when I realized why not a split stay & see what Pop's price for room only was! After tax, ONLY $28 more bucks than off property. Sold!!! So I booked. DD using the pool, & DH not having to drive on the 3rd is WAY worth that difference; not to mention getting "Disney" one night earlier. I've never done a split stay before, so def not at the same resort lol. Has anyone else done this and had luck getting to keep the same room? If so, how did you go about coordinating that w/them? We're just Standard thru the whole stay, and not picky where since so short. I'd even tell them we wouldn't need mousekeeping if we could keep the room, so that'd be a win for them too right? I'm ok if we'd have to change rooms. Heck, we were prepared to change since off property anyway. It'd just be more convenient to unpack all our stuff and stay put.

Call the Main Reservations line and ask the phone CM to link your 2 reservations in their system. Then make 1 room request on your package reservation that you be able to stay in the same room.

When you check in for the room only, ask the CM if you are going to be able to stay in the same room for your package. If not, then ask if you can switch to a room that you would be able to stay in for both.

At MK it is indeed a bit further, but they also run the double buses for this resort during peak times. The double buses needed a new build out at the transportation hubs, this is why you will often find the value resorts a little further away

Hello, we are thinking of changing our trip dates from the third week in August to the third week in October. The potential heat, humidity and rain in August is really scaring me.

My questions: Has anyone gone the third week of October, and what has been your experience? Also, is there a history of large groups at Disney or Pop in October?

We have been in both and....October was much hotter for us. October (we went from the 11 - 18 or something?) was just plain GROSS with humidity and heat. I am not sure if it was that awful because my body had already acclimated to the cooler weather at home (I mean, when I go in August, my body is already used to the oppressive heat/humidity...so it's like being at home..).

But, I was SHOCKED at how hot October was. Just a heads up. Skipping August doesn't mean skipping the (wonderful, beautiful, joyous) misery ;)

We have 10 days at Pop on tap in just under 2 months!
