Welcome! :goodvibes Just as a precaution..my suggestion would be to stop at the desk in the lobby...there used to be an information/concierge desk..but I do believe that it has now been merged with the check in desk....and ask what the transportation schedule is during your stay....:thumbsup2

Another page two rescue....:teleport:...whatcha up to GF fans??? I know that Trish is off to California enjoying her DL trip....:goodvibes but...what where is everyone else....???? Tom are you maybe out shopping for a suitcase..;)...lol.....

Hope that everyone is having a terrific Tuesday....princess:

@BlueSkies, I have a work trip that I leave for on Monday for a week, and I haven't even bought a new suitcase yet!!!!!

Tom

@KonaKaiTom and @BlueSkies thank you for your responses to my room request question.

I ended up calling and requesting Boca Chica, corner room, upper level. My DH laughed when I told him. In our many trips to WDW we never get our requests! We have asked to change rooms however and that has worked out well now and then. So we shall see!

I'm just thrilled to be staying at my fave resort for 6 days!!!! After 3 at Poly CL. And F&G too. How can you go wrong with that? :)

That's a wonderful request. Our first stay at the GF was in a corner room in Boca Chica. We had balconies on both sides and amazing views. (This was way back, before there even was a TPV room category). I hope you get your request!

We just booked a deluxe garden view room (outer building) for early December for 10 days. We're traveling with two small children (3 & 5). Which building would you recommend? First priority is close to main building/monorail/food, second priority is view, third is pool! Thanks for your advice!

Couple of opinions: If you really want close to main building and right in the middle of both pools, Big Pine Key fits the bill. Keep in mind the QS and bus transportation is on the opposite side of the main building so if you believe you will travel to those areas more you may want to rethink your priorities. Main building will give you easy access to monorail and our your car if you plan to drive places. Also, GF is a very compact resort there is really not a long walk to anything.

As for view, I believe all of the outer building deluxe rooms face inward so your view in all of them will be of the resort itself. Sago may arguably have the best view out of your choices because it overlooks the marina. Keep in mind many of these rooms do not have a balcony depending on what floor they are located on, so if a balcony is important you may want to make that your primary request. Sago would put you close to bus transportation and QS.

Not sure where I should ask this, but we are staying club level at the GF and I got the first information from the IPO. It mentions they can arrange a photographer can come. Is this just a photo pass photographer? Anyone done this and have an idea of cost?

Do all Garden View rooms have some type of balcony? I thought they did, but this post mentions that some do not, depending on what floor you are on.

All outer building garden rooms have the same balcony. Only outer building DELUXE garden may not have a balcony. These are larger rooms located in the turrets of each building.

That's what I thought...just double checking. Thanks! :)

Why are the deluxe rooms occupancy 4? We are only going to be 4 but will have 1 of the 4 in a separate bed. (Ie one brought in or something else)
I posted a while back about the Deluxe Room Main Building CL still being maximum occupancy of 4....which should have been updated to 5 (at least) since they added a queen sized sleeper sofa when they renovated. This was the occupancy guideline as of October 2015 and was concerning the main building deluxe rooms only.

I don't know about online since the queen deluxe RPC is book by phone/agent only but my SIL did book/stay with 5 in the room this Christmas. We booked the deluxe king RPC in January 2015 with a party of 3 online. I don't like how they don't update the website and don't fully disclose the details of you booking category. If you don't do research like you are invading a country you could end up with something you don't understand or want.

I had a friend that book outer building deluxe. When she made the reservation she said the available categories were garden view, theme park view and the deluxe room. She booked the deluxe believing that it was club level. I had to explain that she just did not see the club level rooms because they were not available for her dates. Now I fully realize it was her fault, but Disney really should do a better job of listing the amenities, occupancy, and what services are included with each category.

We are going back this summer as we already had a split CL stay at Beach and GF and that will be it for CL for awhile for us. I have been an apologist for CL but our last two trips morale for the CM's was so low, it bothered me more than the lack of lounge food etc. We will continue to exchange Christmas and birthday cards with CM's that we have known forever and will visit with them when in Orlando. Hopefully, the amount of compensation they are having to dole out convinces them of guest dissatisfaction.

However, it is obvious that I am part of the problem. We had an awful stay at BC CL last Easter and we booked it again for this summer. If we could book the 2br without CL we would but we need the space when all of us go. I have not posted much because I dislike being so negative and in general most first timers will have a great time and will not be aware of what the service used to be.

What are the chances that my daughter and soon to be SIL get a king size bed. They have a lagoon view outer bldg booked and I requested pine key I believe. Its their honeymoon and its listed on their reservation. I want this to be so special for them.

Has anyone booked a manicure or pedicure at the GF spa? Wondering if my daughter and I should book these together at the beginning of our trip. But, also wondering how steep the price may be!? Thanks

I had a GF signature manicure when I was there in February. It was $70-something dollars which included a DVC discount and the automatic gratuity which you pay up front/pre-service. It was a long service for a manicure (I want to say 80 minutes or so) and was very nice, as far as manicures go. I can give more specifics if you're interested.

Hi - do the the floor rooms in Sugarloaf have balconies? I'd like an upper floor but the 4th floor rooms look as though there's something different about them. thanks!
