New Year, New Experiences! A January 2016 TR - I’m here at WDW! 3/25

I've followed your reports before but I haven't commented in a while so I thought I'd join in on this one!

Congratulations on your newest addition!! How exciting :)

I love that the pilot let your little guy take a photo in the cockpit! I bet he had a blast.

This was literally DH and me that early morning at 4am! Well, DH joined my dance around 4:20, but couldn't believe how excited he was! He's never like that but I actually think it's because all the plans that he made was about to come to life.
Aw that's so great your DH was so excited that morning!:thumbsup2
Disney Departure day is always the best day!:jumping1:
she drove over a few minutes to 5 and DH got everything packed up in her car. I should note that for Christmas, we bought her a large roller duffle like ours, which is probably the best bags ever! It expands, has multiple pockets on the outside and we can easily fit 3 side by side in the trunk with no issue, plus some room! So for DH to pack the car in probably 3 minutes or less was AMAZING! I highly recommend these bags if you’re shopping around for some.
Thanks for the info on the bag! I will definitely look into this. My family needs a new suitcase for our upcoming Disney trip in July and this looks great!:goodvibes
t was at least 40 minutes before we got to a kiosk to check our bags.
:scared1:Oh gosh that sucks.
We literally took the last row of the plane with three seats together and DM took the outside seat of the aisle next to us.
I was going to ask what airline you used but I saw below on DSs toy plane that it was Southwest. I was just wondering, have you ever had any issues with seats for Southwest, like not getting seat next to your family? SW seems tempting with the rates, but I don't know how I would feel not knowing where I would be sitting on a flight.
Okay, they were right behind me. Turns out, one of the Flight Attendants asked DS if he wanted a picture in the cockpit!

How adorable! He looks like a pro!;)
I took some video of the takeoff and it’s a rarity that we were able to see the ocean during takeoff. It’s either super early and overcast when we leave so this was a real treat!
Alicia, can I just say again, how adorable! :lovestrucYour DS is so precious, and he has the sweetest little voice. He's grown up so much too, a lot since your last TR:goodvibes
So we went back and one of the guys brought over a paper model airplane!

How nice of the flight attendants! Your son was getting the royal treatment!:goodvibes
It was when we landed in Orlando when all of our good fortune took a turn for the worse.
oh no.:scared1:

Once we landed at the airport, I volunteered to check us into our room at the Hyatt Regency with DS and let DM and DH go and retrieve the luggage and I’d text them the room number. Side Note: I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to start or end their trip! The rates have always been very decent for us and the rooms are clean and nice.
If you don't mind me asking, do you always stay in the Hyatt when you go to Orlando? It seems very convenient!
Because it was New Years Eve, when I arrived at check-in, they offered both DS and I some sparkling apple cider! Very nice touch. DS was the most careful he’s ever been in his entire life, carrying his cider to our room.
Nice touch!:thumbsup2
Once in our room, DS told me, “Cheers!” with his glass and I wondered where in the heck he picked that up from! :rotfl:

Love this!:lovestruc
DS and I ended up going down to the luggage carousels to see what was happening and there was no one there :confused3 But there was a long line of people snaking out of the doors at the Lost and Found, including DM and DH at the counter :headache::mad: I wanted to cry.
Oh my gosh how horrible! I would feel the same way....I hope you were able to have everything returned, including the stroller...
I got DM’s attention and she came out and told me that everyone that had flown in from Los Angeles had gotten their luggage lost! Had to have been from that conveyor belt that was down, I just knew it.
Everyone? WOW that is a lot of luggage to be lost!
Side note. DM never sleeps with covers over her. She’s always warm. Well around 3am she got up to fiddle with the AC but instead, somehow, she managed to set the fire alarm off in the room! The siren was going, a light was flashing, DH jumped out of bed half naked, I jumped up yelling to get out but she managed to turn it off. What the DEVIL?! DS slept through that nonsense luckily, but it took us all a bit to settle back down. Now looking back, that was a hilarious moment but oh man, that was so not what we needed at 3am that morning!
:rotfl2:This is hysterical, but I can see how it would add to the stress of the day. It's good she was able to quickly turn it off:thumbsup2

Great updates Alicia! Looking forward to reading more!:flower:

giphy (1).gif

I'm late...As always....I totally take after my mother.

They are normally $100, but we purchased them on Black Friday for $20 from Kohls! Seriously, best 20 bucks we’ve ever spent.

Holy schnickies! That's a suitcase!!! And you got it for $20. I bow down to you!

giphy (2).gif

I’m not sure what was up with all the ‘gifting’. Perhaps they were rewarding his good behavior (he was amazing on each flight we took this trip!) or we were just being sprinkled with pixie dust, either way, it was very thoughtful and much appreciated.

Totally made out like a fat cat. I'm guessing the fact that he's so darned cute helps immensely.
That's also why I like flying Southwest. I've never encountered anything but super nice & helpful workers there.

“Cheers and Junk”

Bwahahahaha!!!! That is hilarious.

I'm sorry you guys got off to such a rocky start :( I hope things got better for you.

Ok...that's it. I've been reading your reports for years now, and while they're all hilarious, this one is especially making me make an a$$ out of myself here at work (yes, I sneak and read these at work). Had to comment, so I can get updated!

I cannot believe how big DS is getting!!! Feel like I have watched in grow in your TR's! Cant wait to read more!

Oh, I can't wait to hear all about your trip!

What a way to start a vacation though :sad2: Crossing my fingers that your luggage was on that a.m. flight :scared:

Love how excited the hubby was. Only a month to go until we are doing that same dance!

Woot woot! :cool1: Hope you do a TR/Dining TR for that one too!

Thanks for the hint. 2 of our 3 pieces of luggage are broken so we are definitely in need.

These are seriously the best! I can fit so much stuff without going over the weight limit.

You and me both. We went when I was pregnant with Casey and I was the same way. To this day Jason still calls the bathroom my favorite attraction.

:rotfl2:Yep that sounds about right!

Hey, you only had 25 minutes to make sure it was locked. Give DH a break ; )

I KNOW!!! We were literally 15-20 feet from the car too! :rotfl:

This is awesome. I didn't think they let kids do this any more. And I can't believe how big he has gotten!!!!

I had no idea they even did this, TBH. Seems like they would be too busy getting everything situated up front, but it was really cool!

I spy with my little eye a baby bump!!!!! Do I win a prize or something for being the first one to spot it?????

Yes you do!

In the form of a crazy dancing man!

Congrats! :dancer:

I had no idea you were staying here. We are doing the same thing next month, so glad to hear you had a good experience. We don't get in until 8 pm and I had some Hyatt points to use so it seemed a no brainer.

We just love the convenience of the hotel and not having to worry about catching a bus or shuttle to an offsite hotel, especially for us since flying is an all day event for us. I hope you like it too!

I'll never get away from the junk grabbing when this next boy comes

Having Mom with you certainly added a mother dimension!

Yes and no one wants to see that :rotfl2:

The "perfect" end to the not so perfect day. Gotta love Mom

Gah my mom! I hope neither of you set the alarm off when you stay. :rolleyes1

I forgot to tell you congratulations on your pregnancy. Your son is absolutely adorable. My worse fear is lost luggage when starting a trip. Hoping your luggage showed up the next morning.

Aw thank you! Totally my fear too. And now that I lived it, I've already told DH no matter what, we're packing one set of clothes for each person in our carry on for just in case. And you can bet that's exactly what I did for our flight home!

Oh I like that bag! We need another big one so I may look into that. It looks so roomy and I have the pockets.

The pockets are amazing and love that i'm able to find things easily in those pockets! And the main compartment, i'm able to fit so much stuff in it without going over the weight limit, it truly is the best luggage.

I can imagine! My favorites in MK are the ones back in Storybook Circus.

Oh yes those are really nice! And of course i'm a fan of the Tangled Toilets. Really, i'm a fan of any restroom that doesn't have a long line

Oops! I'm guessing this turns out well but it's so something my mom would do too.

Yep, in the end all was well!

I'm thinking this won't have a happy ending... :sad2:

:sad2:

Too cute! I bet he loved that!

He did! One day he'll be able to look back and see how truly neat that was.

We'll be taking Jake for the first time in May with no seat on the plane. I've thought about a CARES harness but now I'm not so sure.

Like I said, we totally could have been using it wrong (Especially since it gets really good reviews on blogs and online!) and maybe it was because we were the last row, but it just never seemed to stay up. I've read that kids in those harnesses are much safer than us adults with just our seat belts cause it has the over the shoulder straps that keeps them in their seat in case of turbulance! Look on Ebay for a used one. I bought from a reputable seller for about 25 bucks cheaper than new.

That makes the flight so much better! And I hadn't even thought about it being such a long flight for you. We have a 2 hour flight down and it feels like an eternity. So DS did a great job!

Yes! DM would rather have a direct flight (I guess I would too) but I really don't mind the layover, especially while I was pregnant. I know much women are more comfortable sitting, but for me walking and standing is the best thing for me!

You totally deserved that chocolate. No guilt. :thumbsup2

Thank you for making me feel less guilty about sneaking one of them :lmao:

Now that's a pose we see pretty often around here.

OH my gosh, you can't get away from that i'm sure with all your boys (including the hubby!) And i'll never be able to get away either once this new boy comes!

Oh no!! That is the worst thing ever. Travel is stressful enough without the added element of lost luggage and a stroller. I'm sorry! :(

Thank you, it sucked

You have a pretty close family there!

:rotfl2::rotfl:

Your mom is like a comedy routine all by herself! :rotfl:

She really is! I feel the older she gets, the more comical and crazy she gets. :rotfl:

Thanks for answering me. I should have realized you're a Mac person. I got my documents from my Carbonite account, and the pictures I'm just using a thumb drive, but it's only 32 gigs, so lots of back and forth. I have a few more pictures than that! :rolleyes1

Oh geez that must be a nuisance to go back and forth like that! Hope you find a solution soon!

That's great that you DH was so excited due to the fact he did/was involved in the planning - it really is exciting when you get to realize all that effort you put into the planning

bummer about the delay with the shuttle and then the security line making it tight on time, high on stress, and low on pre-boarding alcohol for DM!

That's so cute that they let DS "fly the place" - that must have been such a thrill for him

And sounds like a great crew! I've never seen that paper plane thing before but they should always give those out to give the kids something to do!

oh no! That sucks about the luggage! Such a helpless feeling as just nothing you can do

Glad you can look back now and find the fire alarm situation funny - I am sure that was quite the scene at the time though!

Hope the next day goes better!

Exactly but I think what he loves the most about planning is the food (obviously :rolleyes1)
You can bet your behind one of the first questions she asked the flight crew was when she could get a screwdriver :rotfl2:

I didn't know they had those planes either and SWA is pretty much the only airline we fly as we are cardholders! They really should hand them out mid flight to all kids!

It was definitely chaotic in that room when the alarm went off :rotfl2:

Your son looks so big compared to your list trip report!! He is seriously adorable:lovestruc

The luggage mishap sounds awful... I'm always afraid of that happening when I fly! I never do well at packing enough in my carry-on just in case that happens.

Definitely cracking up at the "unmentionables" and your mom pulling the fire alarm in your room though!:rotfl:

Hoping your trip starts to get better soon!!

It's so weird to see how much he has grown in such a small amount of time, I hate it :rotfl:

On the way home, I definitely packed us some extra clothes in our carry on just in case it happened again. And from now on, i'll continue to do this! Losing luggage is hard enough, but it could ease the blow a little bit if I had clean clothes to change in to.

The fire alarm was just too much!

AHHHHH!!! I'm so glad you are back for another report! I've loved reading your last few (and caught them after you finished them, so I didn't have to wait :rotfl:) But here we are....so I have to wait now. I can't wait to read more and I can't wait to hear all about the gender reveal.

I sure do hope you get your luggage soon and that the trip gets better for you. :smooth:

:rotfl2:Sometimes it's a lot more fun to 'binge' read a TR all at once, right?!

I think I am the only DISer who doesn't do that. I even wake up AT Disney going, "Well, I could get up and ride things or I could sleep some more..." and have to force myself up. :rotfl:

:rotfl2:You really are the only DIS'er that doesn't do that!

Glad he was so excited and involved!

And I was excited too since I felt I didn't have to do 'much' this time around! And really the only thing i'm not a fan of doing is making FP ADR's. DH doesn't mind doing that at all.

Thanks for the recommendation - they look nice. We got our luggage at Kohl's on Black Friday too - we got some large rolling bags that roll while upright and in all directions, which is SOOO nice. I like all the pockets on the ones you have.

The pockets are the best! Like my own drawers, I know where my undergarments are, toiletries, etc!

Well, at least you have the comfort of knowing that carseats are often a pain in the rear to remove, so they'd have to be pretty determined. Might be easier to just steal the whole car.

:rotfl2:Ain't that the truth?

Whoa! And she survived the flight?!?

Barely! The first leg she had 3 screwdrivers and only 1 on the second leg ::yes::

Wow, that's awesome! Of course, if it were Izzy, knowing how much she loves buttons would probably terrify me that she'd messed up something and our flight would be in danger. :rolleyes1

:laughing:I was actually thinking about that when I was looking back at those pictures. Thank goodness it was DH and not me, cause i'd be yelling, "don't touch that!" the whole time.

Yay! Glad you had such a good experience! That little plane is really cool!

It really was the best experience.

:thumbsup2 I'd do the same thing. I might have stealthily removed one from a snack box on our last flight, then ate it when Izzy wasn't looking. :rotfl:

Hey we deserve it! At least that's what I tell myself :lmao:

Maybe they knew where your bags were. :scratchin

:earseek:They secretly knew didn't they?!

Haha, Izzy's been "cheers"-ing since she could barely talk. My dad and step-mom had done it in front of her way back when and she picked up on it! So cute when they do that!

At least you know where she got it from! I have no idea where he picked it up from. DH and I are too quick at downing our drinks to cheers :rotfl2:

 I want to cry for you! What a nightmare!

I just wanted my 'blankie'! :rotfl::sad1:

I didn't even know you could do that, but I guess I'll avoid it.

Yes and of course I always wanted my stroller during layovers just cause it's easier/faster to get places, but I was pretty confident that DS would be fine without it during this layover so figured gate checking it all the way through to Orlando would be fine

That is really, truly awful. Ugh. :sad2:

:sad2:

Wow, could this evening get any worse? I guess at least it didn't set off the sprinklers or evacuate the hotel. But still...that's pretty bad. :scared:

I KNOW!!!! :worship: Could you imagine if the sprinklers went off in the room?! Ugh that would just plain suck at that point.

I hope the next day is better! What a rough streak of luck!

It does get much better :goodvibes

Awesome! I'm glad that he was so excited about it. I'm sure all the planning he did this time helped.

It helped so much especially since I wasn't my normal self for this trip. Now I wonder if he'll be wanting to take over from now on since he loved it so much :scratchin

But are they still big enough to accommodate your mom's souvenirs?

YES, hallelujah! :worship:

I may have to be the driver next time ::yes::

Yikes! It is pretty ridiculous for an airport parking shuttle to take that long at any airport.

They are usually on top of things at this parking lot since it's their largest one so it was definitely a bit disappointing.

:sad2:

Look at the bright side. If they want to break into the car, at least they won't have to smash a window.

Or we could have had an idiot who broke the window anyway :headache:

:sad2:

Wow... you had Group A and still had to miss boarding with them? That stinks. This is actually what I don't like about SW. I'd rather just know where I'm sitting ahead of time.

I was so stoked about snatching up that Group A boarding too! And I agree. I know they try to give us 'freedom' by choosing, but geez it would just be much easier for me to select them online when i'm booking.

Cool! You can't turn down that offer! I didn't even know they could still do this.

I had no idea they even did this so this was a nice little treat for him!

That's great! I'm glad they were so good to you.

Thank goodness, considering the day was just going to get worse for us.

Boys

I'm glad the food helped. But this definitely isn't the way to end/begin the year.

Definitely not, we were watching the ball drop in our room with somber faces :rotfl2:

Really? They couldn't spare a couple more toothbrushes for you?? :faint:

And they gave us 3 tubes of mini toothpaste for our 2 toothbrushes?!? :confused3

Seriously how does one even do this?! I checked out that area where the ac was the next morning and could not figure out how she could have set the alarm off! :rotfl2:

I'm really sorry about the lost luggage. This isn't the way anybody ever wants to start their trip.

Heck no, it was so not fun. But now I know from now on to pack extra clothes in our carry on, that's the only good that came out of this.

Wow! What a way to start a vaca.... yikes! At least your accommodations were at MCO -- so you could be close when / if your luggage arrived on a later flight :thumbsup2

TOTALLY! I'm not sure how soon we would have actually seen our luggage had we stayed at a Disney resort versus staying right there at MCO!

I cannot believe how big DS is getting!!! Feel like I have watched in grow in your TR's! Cant wait to read more!

That's what I love about doing these TR's! I get to look back on all our trips too :goodvibes

Oh, I can't wait to hear all about your trip!

What a way to start a vacation though :sad2: Crossing my fingers that your luggage was on that a.m. flight :scared:

More coming up! :cool1:

This was literally DH and me that early morning at 4am! Well, DH joined my dance around 4:20, but couldn't believe how excited he was! He's never like that but I actually think it's because all the plans that he made was about to come to life. This was his first trip he's ever planned before so the anticipation was too much for him, which made me even more excited :hyper:

That's great that he was excited. I wish I could get Fran excited about things. All she does is complain about not being moved out of the old house, and how much money we are losing. :sad2:

Our flight was set to leave at 9:30am out of LAX and it’s about a 2 ½ hour drive from where we live, depending on traffic so we needed to be on the road by 5am to give us enough time.

OMG, I can't believe you cut it that close! I allow 4 hours minimum driving from your neck of the woods!

When we were about to arrive into the LAX area, DH suggested dropping us all off and going to park the car. UH. BIG FAT NO FROM ME! If anyone can remember last year, DH did this for us, which did help a little, however, he ended up missing the main parking lot 3 times due to just not paying attention.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

DH and DM took them over to a worker and I heard DH ask, “Are you sure this is where we drop our luggage off?” and the worker replied, “yes, sorry for the inconvenience but our belt is down.” Let’s remember this, shall we.

Uh. oh. :crazy2:

Turns out, one of the Flight Attendants asked DS if he wanted a picture in the cockpit!

I didn't know they could do things like this anymore!

Now is the best time to mention it, this was definitely one of the best flight crews we’ve ever experienced!

Well at least you had that going for you!

Our second flight from St Louis to Orlando was very uneventful and short and both DS and DH slept the entire time! :bitelip::hyper: Which gave me more time to read and watch some Top Chef on the free TV Southwest provides.

Very cool! I didn't know that Southwest has free TVs! Cool that's how we're flying back from NOLA. I like that!

Because it was New Years Eve, when I arrived at check-in, they offered both DS and I some sparkling apple cider! Very nice touch. DS was the most careful he’s ever been in his entire life, carrying his cider to our room.

How cute that must have been!

Once in our room, DS told me, “Cheers!” with his glass and I wondered where in the heck he picked that up from! :rotfl:

They're like little sponges and pick up on lots of stuff.

“Cheers and Junk”

This made me laugh so much I showed it to Fran!

DS and I ended up going down to the luggage carousels to see what was happening and there was no one there :confused3 But there was a long line of people snaking out of the doors at the Lost and Found, including DM and DH at the counter :headache::mad: I wanted to cry.

I bet!

Although DH and I were so ready to go to bed, we had to stay up and go back down at 11:30 to see if anything had come in. At 11:30pm, luggage was coming around the conveyor belt, people were picking up there things and soon it was just DH and I left in the room. Nothing. No luggage. No stroller. Next arriving flight was at 10:30am the next morning

Oh, no!

Midnight came and went as we did our best to get ready for bed, with the TWO toothbrushes for FOUR people that Housekeeping sent up and no clean clothes to get dressed into after our showers.

That stinks.

DM and DH on the other hand both wore jeans and button ups/polos so we had a good laugh before falling asleep that if anyone needed to get up in the middle of the night, to announce they were getting up so we could all look away since they were in their unmentionables :lmao:

This is too funny! I could never stay in a room with anyone else, as well lets just say I'm always wearing my jammies (so to speak). :rolleyes1

I hope you guys to get your luggage, I would be way bummed, for NONE of the bags to make it through.

Oh geez that must be a nuisance to go back and forth like that! Hope you find a solution soon!

Luckily I got the new computer on the Network and was able to do it wirelessly, but I didn't figure that out until I got to the 2013 folder (going backwards chronilogically). Doh! I finally just finished. I think my new PC will be ready to make it's first trip.

 Wow, that's a steal!

For you to say that, it's got to be a steal! ;)

But now I'm sure he knows where it is.

Uhhh....sure! As long as i'm i

:faint::faint: Come on, people! That's the worst.

It was terrible! I hope I never have to do that again...at least not with a toddler in tow.

How cool is that??

It was very surprising cause I had no idea where my family went and to find out that DS was able to sit up there was very cool!

Hey, what does this button do?

Ugh thank goodness it was DH and not me with him. I would have had his hands tied behind his back before entering the cockpit!

Ma'am, please put away your electronic devices.

:blush::bitelip:

This is the best flight ever!

Totally!

That's awesome! For some reason, they only give my kids stinkeye. :confused3:rolleyes1

Oh please, they take one look at baby Drew and swoon! :cutie:

I love him!

Urge to kill...rising...

DM definitely let folks know that she was not happy.

Holy cow. So far I like it better when she was staying home!

:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

Wow! That's a gift! You are truly blessed!

And yet he ALWAYS hears me quietly open his door at night when I check on him :confused3

I've followed your reports before but I haven't commented in a while so I thought I'd join in on this one!

Congratulations on your newest addition!! How exciting :)

I love that the pilot let your little guy take a photo in the cockpit! I bet he had a blast.

Yay and :welcome:!

I was so excited when DH showed me what they were up to when I was waiting for them in our seats! :hyper:

Aw that's so great your DH was so excited that morning!:thumbsup2
Disney Departure day is always the best day!:jumping1:

Heck yes that is always the best day!

Thanks for the info on the bag! I will definitely look into this. My family needs a new suitcase for our upcoming Disney trip in July and this looks great!:goodvibes

They are seriously the best bags! Especially for how much stuff I 'need' :rolleyes1

:scared1:Oh gosh that sucks.

Yeah and with a toddler that has been stuck in a car for a couple hours didn't help matters, poor kid!

Nope never! And we're cardholders so it's really the only airline we fly because we build up so many miles over the year we get free flights. If you're in boarding group 'A', you will for sure be seated with your family at the very front of the plane (or wherever your most comfortable). I've been lucky a few times to get 'A' but i'm mainly placed in Group 'B' and still haven't had a problem. As long as you check in at exactly 24 hours before your flight, you won't have any issues. You could also pay the the extra $15 per person for 'Early Bird Check-in' and automatically be placed into group 'A' but for us it seems like such a waste since we're always seated together. Hope that helps!

How adorable! He looks like a pro!;)

Future pilot perhaps?! :scratchin

Alicia, can I just say again, how adorable! :lovestrucYour DS is so precious, and he has the sweetest little voice. He's grown up so much too, a lot since your last TR:goodvibes

His voice is so high and cute, isn't it!? Everyone always comments on how high is voice is :rotfl2::goodvibes

How nice of the flight attendants! Your son was getting the royal treatment!:goodvibes

Heck yes he was!

If you don't mind me asking, do you always stay in the Hyatt when you go to Orlando? It seems very convenient!

I believe this is the second time (with DM - we've stayed one time before our Disney Cruise in 2011 so 3 times total for DH and I) and I think we're going to be making it a tradition! It's totally convenient, especially since our travel day is considerably long if we don't get a non-stop flight so by the end of the day we just want to be done traveling. Grabbing our luggage (well not on this trip! :rotfl:) and heading up to our room without getting on a bus is AMAZING! And the rooms are very, very clean and comfortable.

Nice touch!:thumbsup2

It really was and at that point I had completely forgotten that it was New Years Eve!

Love this!:lovestruc

:goodvibes

Oh my gosh how horrible! I would feel the same way....I hope you were able to have everything returned, including the stroller...

We do, eventually!

Everyone? WOW that is a lot of luggage to be lost!

It is and people were so mad! I knew it had to be from that broken belt.

:rotfl2:This is hysterical, but I can see how it would add to the stress of the day. It's good she was able to quickly turn it off:thumbsup2

I was thinking, seriously I didn't think this day could get any worse but I guess it can

Great updates Alicia! Looking forward to reading more!:flower:

Thanks more coming up shortly!

 Following along! Your family is so adorable!

Aw thank you! :goodvibes

I'm late...As always....I totally take after my mother.

:rotfl2:That GIF totally made me giggle! :lmao:

Holy schnickies! That's a suitcase!!! And you got it for $20. I bow down to you!

View attachment 156466

Yes! A definite score! If you're in need of luggage around Black Friday, check out the deals at Kohls!

Totally made out like a fat cat. I'm guessing the fact that he's so darned cute helps immensely.
That's also why I like flying Southwest. I've never encountered anything but super nice & helpful workers there.

He totally did! And they are super relaxed and laid back, which I think puts customers much more at ease if they're nervous flyers, like DM ::yes::

Bwahahahaha!!!! That is hilarious.

:laughing:He's a total crack-up and he doesn't even know it!

I'm sorry you guys got off to such a rocky start :( I hope things got better for you.

It definitely goes up from here, just not the best way to start vacay!

Ok...that's it. I've been reading your reports for years now, and while they're all hilarious, this one is especially making me make an a$$ out of myself here at work (yes, I sneak and read these at work). Had to comment, so I can get updated!

:rotfl:I find that the best time to DIS is at work! ::yes:: Thanks for commenting and reading along! More updates shortly!

That's great that he was excited. I wish I could get Fran excited about things. All she does is complain about not being moved out of the old house, and how much money we are losing. :sad2:

But that will all be done soon I hope!

OMG, I can't believe you cut it that close! I allow 4 hours minimum driving from your neck of the woods!

I know, when you think about it, what if we got a flat tire? Or if there was a major accident on the freeway and traffic is backed up :scared::scared: Don't make me think like that!

Yeah, he's not allowed to drive anywhere by himself anymore. Which reminds me, do you know where the Best Western Park Place Inn is on Harbor across from the main crosswalk to Disneyland? And do you know where the Toy Story Parking Lot is located?? Not sure if you do, but it's located about a mile from each other...on Harbor blvd. We went to Disneyland for literally one night last week for DS's last trip as an only child and the hotel wouldn't let us keep the car in their lot past a certain hour, so DH was going to move the car first thing in the morning while we walked over to DCA. By the time we walked to DCA, go past security, enter the park and go on the Tow Mater ride AND the Little Mermaid ride, DH finally calls and says, "Where did you say the parking lot is?!?":headache::mad: After I specifically SHOWED him on the map the day before.

I didn't know they could do things like this anymore!

I'm literally the only person that didn't know this was even allowed in the first place! It just seems like such a safety issue, especially for a toddler! I could see an older kid that listens but a three year old :scared:

Well at least you had that going for you!

OUr saving grace for sure.

Very cool! I didn't know that Southwest has free TVs! Cool that's how we're flying back from NOLA. I like that!

Well, as long as you have an iPad, Laptop or Phone which I'm sure you do! I think they have 10-12 channels including my favs Bravo, Food Network and HGTV ::yes:: I'll be on the lookout for any freebie stuff they send me via email. Sometimes i'll get free internet codes and if I do, i'll send it your way:goodvibes

How cute that must have been!

It really was. The one and only time he was taking his time!

They're like little sponges and pick up on lots of stuff.

Ugh you're telling me  He loves watching Peanuts and he called someone a 'blockhead' the other day :eek: but hey that's a children's cartoon it's not my fault!

This made me laugh so much I showed it to Fran!

He is a crazy child!

Yep, sucked!

That stinks.

Yeah this wasn't fun either.

This is too funny! I could never stay in a room with anyone else, as well lets just say I'm always wearing my jammies (so to speak). :rolleyes1

I hope you guys to get your luggage, I would be way bummed, for NONE of the bags to make it through

:rotfl2: I know your 'jammies' that you speak of! I would do that, but i'm always worried that there's going to be a fire or earthquake or something that will make me need to run out of the house. And let's face it, no one wants to see all this naked!

Luckily I got the new computer on the Network and was able to do it wirelessly, but I didn't figure that out until I got to the 2013 folder (going backwards chronilogically). Doh! I finally just finished. I think my new PC will be ready to make it's first trip.

Yay at least it's done!!!

Caught up on all replies but will post an update hopefully in the morning but wanted to post a Life Update since i've been doing pretty good at keeping up on here until recently....

This week has not been the best. Poor DS had a Febrile Seizure on Sunday that sent him to the ER via ambulance:sad: It was one of the scariest things to see and it's hard to get his face out of my head, but I guess it's fairly common in infants and toddlers. I've had one and DH has had one is what we were told that day from our moms. We were there for most of the day which was exhausting. Was told he also had a touch of Bronchitis according to the Xray they took, gave him a double dose of antibiotics and got sent home with the prescription.

Early the next morning around 5:30am he was throwing up and that continued for hours. The paper we got sent home with said that if he starts vomiting to see a Dr immediately. So I made an appointment with his Pediatrician for that afternoon. Long story short, she didn't see any bronchitis and said that the antibiotics made him sick:confused3 So we stopped that and he was back to his normal self within hours, thank God!

As DH and I were taking him to bed that night, DH stepped in water on the floor in the hallway. Our guest toilet had flooded the entire bathroom and was starting to seep out into the hallway :scared1: So what was supposed to be an early night to bed for all of us, turned into a 3 hour clean up of tearing out the baseboards, shop-vacc'ing, laundry and mopping

Tuesday was my 32 week check-up and she was concerned about all the braxton hicks i've been getting over the past few days. Not sure if it's related to all the stressful situations, but I now have to go back every week instead of every other week.

This weekend we're going to the coast, just DH and I for my early birthday present and it couldn't come at a better time! It's been planned for months and I think I chose the best weekend for it! Planning on eating, sleeping, relaxing, DIS'ing and reading, which sounds like heaven :cloud9:

Tomorrow is a new day and one day closer to the weekend! :worship::worship::worship:

Oh no! That must have been really scary!

Yes, I'm glad to hear that.

Ugh. Where's the do-over button?

That's more like it! Hope you get to rest and forget your worries!

Wow, sorry you've had such a rough streak lately. Glad everyone and everything is okay, though. Hope you have a wonderful, rejuvenating, problem-free time at the coast!

OMG what a stressful time that must have been...ugh!! And I just finished reading about your lost luggage too...I know that was now a while ago...but sounds like a lot has been going on!! I hope you have a great relaxing time with your mini vacay!! You deserve it!

oh gosh - that must have been really scary! Glad it is all under control and DS is doing better now!

And ugh, when it rains it ... well, seeps out of the toilet! Gosh, that is just not fun at all! Hope it was just a one time thing and not something that will require major plumbing fixes

Glad to hear you have a weekend getaway planned though - like you said, perfect timing!

Oh, no! That is really scary. Nate had a febrile seizure when he was a baby and it's just awful. Glad DS is feeling back to normal now!

And plumbing issues are never fun. Especially at bedtime after an already stressful time. So sorry!

Hope the weekend away gives you some much needed rest and relaxation!
