Disney's BOARDWALK INN Information & Questions

Yes, we have always picked ours up at Guest Services (left kiosk), but have you customized your magic bands and linked the new AP to MDE or hasn't your current AP expired?

Yes I customized my magic band and have linked my AP. My AP expired in December but I will get April, sept and dec 2016 vacation out of this AP

Then you should be good to go. . .there was some talk somewhere (Theme Parks Board, I believe) that Disney was not giving "hard copy" AP tickets anymore, but we picked up hard copies in October at IG guest services. :confused3 With Disney, one never knows--I know I don't trust the MB alone. . .they fail too often for my liking.

Thanks Sandy! We're staying at the Poly before the BWV this summer. Love the Boardwalk but really wanted to go back to the monorail.

Want to know something funny? Even though Moorea, which is the DVC building is closest to the TCT, we opted to walk and take the resort launch for something different. It was a really nice ride.

Here's our view from our balcony:

Love reading all your tips and information
I'm booked into a standard view studio 28-30 Sept for my birthday and The F&W. Never stayed here before.
Looks like a good choice

Tracey I think you'll be very happy with your choice! Nothing like strolling into World Showcase through International Gateway for Food & Wine! Actually, I just love entering Epcot through IG anytime of day or year!

Ironically, we're also cheating on the BW this week with a DVC studio at the Poly. :)

There are definitely positives to the Poly, but to us it pales in comparison to the BW. We would still put BW way first, and then BLT second.

One thing that is really bad with our studio is the bed. It has a wooden base with under storage drawers, instead of a box spring, and it's REALLY hard. The BW 1BR bed in Dec was sooooo much better. Do the new studios at the BW also have the wooden base? I hope not.

Some other side notes, we did Hoop Dee doo for the first time this trip, and loved it!! Definitely recommend. Also since it close to the BW, I can mention we did Akershus for the first time. Really expensive for a non-signature, but we liked the food way more than we thought we would. The princesses were fun, I can see those with kiddos really enjoying it. We thought it was better than CRT. Of course Disney world isn't just for the little ones, right? :thumbsup2

For any women whose husbands don't want to go to Disney World, just show them those pictures. :lmao:

Any updated pictures on the refurb. Last I knew there was scaffolding up on the main building and it was getting painted. New pictures would be appreciated.
Just got home from the BWI late last night and I hope to have some time to post in the next few days. The scaffolding is down from the main tower. They are working inside the Flying Fish and painting right beside it. The rooms that look over the village green area. If you have young children and want to go back before 4:00 pm I would stay away for the next couple of weeks. The sound of loud sanders and what sounds like a jack hammer start right at 9:00 am and go off at 4:00 pm. We stayed CL in a garden room and it could be heard clearly over the TV. They are working fast though with the painting at least. All the windows around the Flying Fish are covered up so no idea what is going on inside.

Thanks for the update. I'm sorry about the jack hammering you had to deal with during your stay. Not a very relaxing sound.

I look forward to hearing more.

Just booked BWI CL for 4/16-4/18, a quick trip for the Star Wars 1/2 Marathon. First time staying at BWI and first time at an Epcot/HS resort, always so much to learn about new resorts! Thanks to everyone who posts on this thread, so much valuable information. Just reading through it has me fired up for our stay. :):):)

I'll be at BWV on September 1-8. My first time staying there. Loved walking through the area on my last trip to BCV.

You are in for a treat...visiting the BW area is nice..but staying there is so much nicer! Enjoy! :goodvibes

:) She definitely did

 My heart will always be filled with MK resort love, but the Pas clan loves that Epcot side!

Gotta keep everyone happy...best of "both" worlds my friend!! Its going to be great..:thumbsup2

So I couldn't resist the new AP discounts released, plus I love the look of the BWI deluxe CL room, so I booked it for July! We'll start out there, then move to our beloved Poly LV CL cause we can't miss the July 4 festivities there! Totally can't wait to try BWI CL -- it will be new to us, and those deluxe rooms will guarantee us a boardwalk view and full balcony, right? I put in a request for "near lounge inside CL security door."
!
Disney math and Disney logic!!! :wizard: I use it often...Sounds like a fab split! We recently did a BWI and GF RPC split :teleport: and loved it....:thumbsup2

I renewed my annual pass on the phone. Can I pick it up at the boardwalk. TIA

I renewed online...but as long as you have the info inked in your MDE you don't need to do anything to enter a park...but they no longer send the AP card with the MB linked to it..so if you want a hard copy you will need to stop at Guest Services at any of the parks...we stopped at the one at the International Gateway...which seems to be a quieter location...easy peasy! :flower:

gometros Thanks for sharing that beautiful pic..what a view! Magical...:lovestruc

psac More great pics! My DH is a fan of taking some princess pics too....especially Belle..princess::cool2::confused3:eek:....LOL!!!

Kook Thanks for not spilling the beans to K&A&C's mom about my defection ....lol....for as much as I love the GF...I can't say enough good things about our BWI stays ( so far!!??lol)...simply magical...:cloud9:

~So I shared this on the GF thread..and now here too....Rivers of Light is set to debut on April 22...had to do some changing around of our trip plans...we are usually morning AK folks....but..am so excited that we will be able to see it this spring....:rainbow:..Hoping there will be a dinner package or FPP available in time for our trip...I'll be keeping an eye out ::yes::..

Can anybody update me on the status of the Villas renovations? Are they finished with the second floor and moved onto the first yet?

Just letting you all know that the MB is now offered in purple. My dh and I are getting these for July since we will be celebrating our 20th anniversary and purple was our wedding color.

So excited! Now I just need to wait for July to get here.

We were just there, and we didn't have the purple, but the magic bands themselves actually seemed different. They seem lighter and more flexible and a little cheaper. Ironically, though, I think that's a good thing. The old ones always seemed a little too rigid and didn't form a good circle around the wrist. No longer the case with the new ones, I thought they felt a lot more natural!

That's good to know. I'm not a watch or bracelet person so the MB always took some time to get used to for me. Maybe with the new fit it won't bother me as much.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO after deciding to change my BWI CL stay to RPC for August..... I couldn't do it. Staying put with the split stay. Something about BWI that makes me want to try it!!! :grouphug: maybe all the fine peeps here :)
I really hope you love the BWI as much as we do. We enjoyed our recent stay at the GF RPC but my husband and I both agree that we probably wont return. The value for the price (even with a discount) just isn't there anymore for us.

::yes:: The IG entrance is so terrific. I like to slow down and watch the boat spin around to dock. But, the best is watching Illuminations and then exiting the IG back to the BWV and no mass transportation.

DVC infidelity? :lmao: I figures that would be staying at Cabana Bay Resort. :rotfl:

We enjoyed HDDR and Akershus as well. We are eating at Rose n Crown first time this trip in my plan to eat at all the TS restaurants around the WS.

We arrive on April 14th. Very concerned with the construction. Not so much the scaffolding, etc but the noise. For those of you there now (or arriving soon), please keep us posted on the progress. Hoping things will quiet down in the next 5 weeks. Wishful thinking?
