:welcome: to the thread.

No, we don't.

I had assumed that the refurb would be starting soon after the lounge was completed, but it doesn't appear that folks with YC club level reservations have been given notice about work going on.

One poster said last week that she thought the work wouldn't be started until August based on info from a friend of hers, but we have received no info or timeline from anyone at the resort or Disney.

:)

If you do decide to postpone your return by a day or two and want to keep costs down, Orbitz has the promo code "bestvacay" right now, which can be applied toward a Disney resort booking. Both BC and YC have Standard View rooms available. Just think, if you stay an extra day, you could see Teena, one last time, before you both depart WDW. :)

OOOH! You are DANGEROUS!! Great suggestion and help!:banana::banana:

Flight cancelled. Van booked. DD12 just started singing "Jesus, Take the Wheel."

Shoreward - that's awesome. I'm hoping to sneak in a visit to see Teena on Sunday.

Staying at Beach Club for a work conference next month. I'm bringing my 75 year old mom who has not been to Disney in decades. Any room request suggestions? (we are booked as standard view) Does the room have robes? Thanks!
The majority of the standard view rooms are on the third and fourth floors facing the parking lot. I would request a room close to the elevator in your situation. It would also be central to the lobby, transportation and restaurants. :)

Only the club level rooms have robes.

That works. :) Thanks for the list.

My pleasure - FYI, when I was logged into the DVC site, the "know before you go" information section is still stating that BCV construction is due to start in January 2016 and is estimated to be completed in the summer of 2016.

Summer doesn't end until September 22nd though!!

I think that Ninja Mom has some good advice.

Here is the weather advisory from JetBlue, with a link to change flights:

http://www.jetblue.com/JetblueAlerts/WeatherUpdate.aspx?intcmp=global_travelalert

I was once at the BC, when my return flight was delayed a day, due to WX back home. I spoke with someone in the back office at the BC, and they extended my reservation, at the originally booked room rate.

Hope that everything works out well. I imagine the kids won't mind an extra day down there!

That was nice that they extended it at the original rate. We inquired about an extension once, due to a flight delay, and they wanted to charge us current rack rate. In the end, we decided we'd wait our flight or maybe I would have asked to speak to a manager. I'm not one to ask for special favors, but under the circumstances you'd think they could work with a person.

Found this question over on the main resort boards. Anyone going to BCV soon care to check out the sofa to see if you can find a label or other info?

Does anyone know what kind of mattresses are on the sleeper sofas at Beach Club Villa? I want to get a sofa bed for a guest room and theirs was so comfortable!

I know the answer for the Beach Club resort rooms because when I was there in August, someone asked on the FAQ thread for the same reason and we looked for the label while we were there.

I'll post the question over on the thread to see if someone who is staying at BCV soon could check.

:thumbsup2

Thank you! I thought the same thing when I saw the refurbished lounge photos. I figured they would start on the lounge floor and work their way down . Maybe they are waiting till all the work is done over on the BC side. I think I read that they are refurbishing the villas???? Either that or all the different resorts are melting into one in my mind:rotfl:We were at BC last June and the rooms looked really nice there. Cant wait to see YC if and when they are done.

Hello folks! I'm new to this thread and haven't read all of it, but hoping I am coming to the right group of experts!

We are staying at BCV May 14-18 (we have a triple split stay over SW Race Wknd - crazy!).

I am wondering how long it is to walk between BC and DHS?

And how long is the friendship boat ride? (I seem to remember this being a 30-40 min process but my memory is very foggy about this!)

Thanks! Feel free to point me to somewhere else!

The walk takes about 10-15 minutes and the boat ride if you add wait times is about 30-35 minutes. We usually walk over and take the boat back when we are tired.

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1 (Post 15)

:cool1:

The walk between the Beach Club and Hollywood Studios is about 20-25 minutes at a moderate pace. Depending on the weather/temperature, it can be a pleasant walk.

The boat takes about 20 minutes I believe, once it leaves the Yacht Club dock. But you can have a wait at the dock.

Every time I have "raced" the boat from HS to Beach Club, I have beat it, but it was pretty close on one occasion. We had to sprint to beat people who were getting off the boat. And then my son tripped on the welcome rug at the Beach Club as he was doing his victory dance.

I just did the walk from HS to BC a couple of weeks ago and I saw the boat approaching the HS dock when I was about 1/3 through the walk. The boat never caught up to me.

Hope that helps.

:boat:

Are there many/any standard view rooms in the second floor? Would these be less likely to be overlooking the large flat, ugly roof?

Oh how I would love to be stuck in Disney. However, being a teacher I am not sure how that would pan out unless where I lived was going to be buried.

We stayed at BCV in November and walked back from DHS after Fantasmic one night. It took us 25 minutes at a moderate pace. Once we got back to the Boardwalk, we stayed on that side of the lake and crossed the bridge over to BCV since it seemed more direct back to the resort.

Does anyone know the room numbers of the rooms that are located just up the stairs from the Yacht Club Lobby? WE stayed there one time and I want to request a room there for our next trip. We have a garden view booked. Any help would be most appreciated.
