Pictures of things No Longer Seen at WDW

God how I miss this ride. I guess it's nostalgia, but as a kid, WAY back when, it WAS the Magic Kingdom to me. Seeing those subs in the lagoon, the caverns, soundtrack. Honestly, I still think it's the coolest ride I've ever seen or ridden.

Anyone have one of the animatroinc orange bird from the early 1980s who flapped his wings and turned his head? He was at Sunshine Terrace and I ate a lot of citrus swirls I hated just to see him. Can't believe my five year old self took picks of the tacky hotel paintings and toilet and not of the beloved bird.

You can buy a plush of that orange bird in disney springs.

Check the pennant to see if its our bus!

OOOh! I used to love that! It sounded so magical when you were asking for direction-"Well, you take the brown flag bus to the green flag bus". And DH brought up a good point-it made it easier for foreign visitors if English wasn't their first language. Remember the little colored flags waving from the back (or front) of the boats?

I'm sure it made things easier for some people, but it'd be Hell for people like me that are color blind. Same thing with trying to figure out which line to get into at Mission: Space. But don't feel too bad for me. Luckily, my vision allows me to see in the dark. It's always amazing what people do in the parks when they think no one can see them... :teeth:

Taken in the late '80s. I don't know if they still have L&T waffles.

No more Lady & the Tramp waffles. Tony's hasn't served breakfast in many years now. My parents saw them selling the waffle iron at Property Control, which is where they sell old equipment to CM's. That was a sad, sad day when they told me that because it meant, even if Tony's would start serving breakfast again...no L&T waffle.

I was just telling my wife about these. We were looking through one of the guidebooks and I told her I was pretty sure Tony's used to do breakfast because I remembered those waffles. I told her it was the only place I could think of where that would have made sense to have them out of what I could remember. I'm sad that they are gone. I hope they'll bring them back again! I'd love for my kids to enjoy them. Mickey waffles just aren't as special to me.

My reading of the announcement is that it's canceled for 2016, and possible for the duration of construction, but it may be resurrected.
Hope so, but it implies once more Star Wars is there all the time they won't be needed...
