Official 2016 Star Wars Half Marthon - The Dark Side Weekend

In for the challenge!!Is this the first time they ask you right at registration to put in all the POT info, obviously I skipped this as I wasn't going to be taking any longer to register than I needed to,POT can be submitted later, worry about getting in now.For W&D I just remember them saying that you will need to submit POT at a later date, same for the Marathon.

I believe they used to do that, asking for POT at registration. But then I thought they discontinued it due to the registration delays and issues. This was my first time registering with the new active system so maybe they brought it back and tied it together. But yeah, for everyone doing regular registration I wouldn't waste time putting it in then. Though, isn't it now that if you get into the que you have a spot and like 5-10 min to finish before you lose it?

Ok I want to cry.....my work just announced a mandatory teleconference next tues at 11am central which is 12pm est. My boss is going to let me login into the computer in the conference room, though I won't have access to multiple browsers. We're registering myself, DH and my DS who's a minor. Will the system allow me to register DS under my account so I won't have to go back into the queue right? I'm going to have DH register himself at home and I'll do myself and DS at work.

I believe minors yes you can register for them. All good :) And this time the AP registration went live right at noon, so you probably wouldn't miss much of the meeting either!

So I clicked on the link just to see and Active would let me register for 10K. But I don't have an AP...didn't this happen for January and they cancelled the unauthorized ones? Or no?

In and out within 2 minutes - Dark Side Challenge accepted! I skipped PoT to save time - I'll just enter it through the link later.

I got my husband and me in the half. However, they wouldn't let me register my husband on my account, as I have in years past. I had to open him a whole new account. What a nightmare, but I made it. I share this for general sign up next week, so someone doesn't get burned by using too much time.
Woulda been nice of them to mention that change AHEAD of time.

Only the original trilogy. You're not missing much from the new ones. :P
Agreed, except that Ep. III was pretty epic!

I think they may have the POT on there because they are so late doing the sign up for this race. It may already be in the window for POT...so they just put it on the registration too. But that is just speculation.

What was annoying is we were on the "Who are you registering for this event?" Selected "Yourself" and then it would loop back around saying we had to retry, then it kicked us out to the on hold page. I'm not sure what was going on, but we were able to select the event right at 12, but then got stuck in some loop before being directed back to the on hold page. Very frustrating. Saw the Challenge popped up once to open, but it was back to on hold when we clicked on it.

I sign up for the Dark Side Challenge at 12 Noon without a hitch. I'm now doing 4 RunDisney races in 5 months - Wine & Dine 1/2, Avengers Infinity Gauntlet Challenge, Rebel Challenge '16 and Dark Side Challenge too! Bring it on!

Yea I told my boss it'll all be over in 10 minutes LOL It's a conference room with my team of 6 people. The computer links up to the big screen so everyone will see if I get in or not popcorn:: Hopefully the folks on the call won't ask me to present first :scared1:

Just looking to clarify - I would be unable to register my niece for the 10K using my DVC login, correct? I didn't see anything written anywhere under the rules but didn't try either.

Why am I able to register with the Active link when I don't have an AP or DVC?

It's not a hidden sight. When you register it will just ask in the registration process if you are an AP or a Cast Member. I'm guessing, but if you aren't an AP it will notify you that you didn't register properly. No idea what it will do.

You don't have to enter any info now for Coast-to-Coast...it is now automatically done for you by runDisney. I specifically emailed them about this a month ago and was told that they care of it now. Yes in the past it was a checkbox, etc that you had to enter during the registration process but not anymore.

Thanks for the responses everyone! Did I mention that I love you guys? :)

Why am I able to register with the Active link when I don't have an AP or DVC?

Active doesn't know if you are AP or DVC so if you got the direct link, they wont prevent you from registering. The problem comes if/when runDisney checks (and apparent they have started checking) and cancels your registration if you don't have the proper credentials. They will do this after regular registration so if it is sold out and your early registration gets cancelled then you are out of luck.

I'm tempted, but I believe firmly in Karma. My luck I would trip and break my leg a week before the race. I'll just wait it out until next week. If it's meant to be then it's meant to be!

For C2C

Side note - just make sure you get your pic taken after bib pick up!

There will be an abundance of folks reminding you... But it's a thing!

Can you explain? This is my first c2c. Is this after bib pick up for both races? Just the second race? What happens if you somehow forget?

Ok so how does that work? He does have an active account. When I'm done registering will it ask me if I want to register anyone else like it does for other non-Disney races? Should I then just put in his info under my account or use his login, which would be faster?
When you click the race you want it'll ask if you want to register yourself or someone under 18. Click the "someone under 18" link and it'll ask if you're their parent/guardian and then you fill in their info and pay. I did this for my son when I registered him for the kids races.

For the Disneyland Half marathon weekend Coast to Coast we got a wrist band put on us when we picked up our bib. This we had to wear until the end of the Half marathon where we went through a tent at the end of the race to get our C2C medal. No picture was needed for Coast to Coast (picture was needed for the Challenge only).

I have never done this, so I am not 100%, but I think it has been mentioned on other boards that they have to be in the same household/address. I have also heard for DVC that they have to be on your account somehow (I think someone here had to put her husband on their account with disney too as an authorized member)

That's my feeling as well. I've known for awhile that you can access the links without actually being an AP, but I haven't used them - you just never know if/when Disney will decide to check...

Well I'm pretty upset (at myself) with the registration. I was using 2 computers to register 2 of us, got us both in the Challenge. I realized that both had DH's account auto login to Active. So then I entered my info under DH's account as I clicked "registering someone else". Well then I realized at the end since I was an adult it wouldn't work. Bummer! This was at 12:04ET. So I had to go out and get back in and it was in the dreaded "On Hold". I got DH in on the challenge. I registered myself for the 10K and 1/2. I guess we will just have to share his medal. In reality on our medal shelf we just combine our medals, we don't have our own shelf. As for the challenge shirt. I ordered in DH's size. If he likes the shirt I will buy a different challenge one at the expo. If he doesn't like the shirt I will exchange for one in my size. I'm bummed that I messed up. But on the other hand, I guess I just think positive that I saved $21 by registering my 2 separate vs the challenge. At least we are fortunate to be able to go down there and do the inaugural race. And, no I wasn't about to risk waiting until next week and trying for the challenge again. Knowing my luck everything would sell out.
