So I know it's been done before but what are your go-to shoes at Disney World? I'll be going at the end of August /first week of September and am looking for supportive, comfy, ventilated shoes (for myself, husband and 6 year old son) that can handle a soaking at Kali River Rapid, Splash Mountain, etc. My last trip resulted in blisters, pain and we even had to throw away my husband's sneakers after getting soaked at Kali, didn't dry thoroughly then stunk to high heaven! So I'm looking for advice for the shoes you felt worked best at Disney World! Thanks in advance!

Just bought some Keen Whispers. So comfy. Something like Body Glide is great rubbed between the toes and on heels f you do wear tennis shoes. I like 2 pairs of shoes. I'm bringing the Keens and tennis shoes. I've never gotten blisters since using my Body Glide.

I also just got some Nike Free 5.0 at Academy. they are super light weight but seem supportive w/ good arch support to me.

I've done WDW twice, DLR, and Universal in Keens sandals. I've also done a fair amount of hiking, including a 4 mile one in Hawaii, in my Keens. They are great for kayaking too. We are currently on vacation in Colorado Springs and have been hiking. I'm using a new pair which are Newport H2. Love them. I have fallen arches, and even though they don't look like it, they have excellent arch support.

Wore Skechers Go Walks on our last trip and will never wear another shoe in WDW again. So comfy and not a single blister, which is rare for me! We didn't get super wet (no Kali), but I was fine in them after a front row ride on Splash Mountain.

Love Croc sandals. Because I carry a lightweight (Disney) Tote bag with a poncho, sweater, etc, anyway, I throw in very lightweight Croc sandals and slip them on as I'm waiting for Kali. I throw my Merrill's (or whatever sturdy walking shoe I wear) in the tote and change after the ride. I also ALWAYS wear a cheap Dollar Store Poncho or Disney Poncho on Kali. Yes, I look like a Dork but I'm the dry one and have the last laugh. No drenched rat for me.

You could also bring very cheap thongs for each of you to change into while waiting in line. But, of course, you need to carry a tote bag in the park.
(Many people hate to but I always want a tote).

I live in my Sketcher Go Walks. Wearing them is like walking on a cloud :cloud9:
I currently have 7 pairs in 3 various styles.
My DH mentioned something about me needing a 12 step program for my Go Walk addiction:rotfl2:
