Just caught up- So the update now is that there is a strong possibility that Free Dining will be released to everyone tomorrow, DV holders and the GP. If this happens, then the offer could show up on the website anytime beginning at midnight, but the phones will open up at 7am. I also saw in here that people with existing reservations may not be able to modify their reservation online to add free dining and will have to call. Who thinks that this is possible?

I don't know if I would still be able to book a new ressie online and just cancel the existing one, rather than just modifying it. They didn't address that part of my question. She just said I couldn't "modify" it online.

I don't know if I would still be able to book a new ressie online and just cancel the existing one, rather than just modifying it. They didn't address that part of my question. She just said I couldn't "modify" it online.

My mistake, she did say I couldn't cancel online either. Here's her reply to me:

We're happy you asked your question! Any modifications to your reservation must be done over the phone. You will not be able to cancel or modify a room-only reservation online. help me pass the time by having a little fun. Tell me:

1) Raglan Road
2) no breakfast ressie
3) would like to try BOG dinner . . . haven't been able to get it yet
4) least happiest ressie: Sci-Fi dinner . . . I ordered the steak. Wasn't good. Shouldn't have tried to max my DP. Go figure. Just stick with the tried & true there. Like picnic burger or reuben. I wanted to see the Osborne Family lights that night . . . the lights were great!

Ok so if I have an existing (package) reservation already and cannot modify online is it better to cancel existing and book new? Will I get my deposit back? Thanks and sorry if this has been covered off already, I missed a few pages! ;-)

Yes, that would be the correct time if it's up at midnight EST.

Good to know. I guess I just assumed they would know because they are on the WDW website. I think I will still try to get the FD online since it's open an hour before phone lines anyway. If it doesn't work, I can always phone at 7.

Me too! Midnight for WDW is only 9:00 my time. That's way better than 3am!!

Seems weird that we can't just cancel the existing one and rebook a whole new ressie online. That's not really modifying. So confusing!!
