My AP-ALOOZA Continues (WE RENEWED!!) ~ NEW TR link posted!

I am reading and enjoying the report!
I also love the BOG salmon-- especially those saffron potatoes!

YES the potatoes make the dish! Delicious! Though, the cupcake cart is pretty awesome too!

We are heading out to disney on May 17th, only a few more days and i can book those fast passes! :yay:

Eeek! That's awesome!! Hope you get all the FP's you want!

:thumbsup2Glad you found the RE and best of luck with the getting pregnant scenario! (he said in the least creepy way possible). We had some challenges having Olivia but each subsequent kid was easier so hopefully you have similar luck

Your FP+ plans sound great! The one MK day with the FoF parade, Peter Pan, A&E, and the extra one for Mine Train is like the perfect set up - especially combined with getting there early to hit up other things.

love this phot - such a cute face!

Still haven't gotten to BoG for dinner - sounds like a good one though

I mean, that is clearly a happy kid!

Love this photo too - really love the new Dumbo set up at night with the colored lights on the water, etc.!

Sharing glow sticks and the like and just seeing kids make friends is one of the little hidden treasures at Disney I think

Wow - that just sucks - and the bus ride to there is so long. I love the actual hotel but it all feels remote - only downside I see to the AK Lodge

The day was really great and Aria WAS so happy!! I love the new Dumbo set up too. I will state that AKL has much better parking facilities and no crazy elevator scenarios, but it is still out of the way.

Does Izzy still nap? A day still has not gone by without a nap for Aria, I hope she drops it by France but not holding my breath!
Yes, Izzy still naps. Or at least takes a break. Sometimes she just hangs out in her crib for a couple hours playing with stuffed animals and doesn't sleep. Wow, Aria is still a champion napper! I had to read the last sentence like 12 times because I love nap time/Mommy break time and can't imagine not having it. :rotfl:

I seem to have lost everyone but one :charac2: so I guess I'll just continue on.
I am glad some others stepped up, as I got all behind on the DIS and wasn't here to chat! :thumbsup2

Then I attempted to use my FP at Pooh – but somehow it had gotten changed to an Anna & Elsa meet?
I remember that - so strange! :confused3 I keep wondering if somehow our accounts being linked and me grabbing our extra FP+ reservations could have done that, but I don't think that would be possible and never saw any indicator of it. So weird. At least the Pooh queue is fun, I guess.

I keep looking at the couple on the left and thinking they must be fighting and she is giving him the evil eye.

What amazing time we were making for a Saturday night at MK?! Crazy!
It was a pretty great day to be at the MK! I was surprised how much we got in during our afternoon/early evening too!

Now, no photos, but this is WHY I would not stay at Kidani again. There is NO PARKING.
No fun at all. I thought I had once heard there was a parking garage there? Or is that what you were driving around?

We did make it back finally, though up ahead I have a sleepless night and end up attempting to sleep in the bathroom? Food poisoning? Not sure but the next day was a tough one!
Really no fun at all. :sad2: I still don't know how you managed to do Disney on your own with a toddler while sick. :worship:

Great update! Seeing your update and some other recent ones about dinner at BoG made me want to have dinner there, so I started stalking MDE. I ended up catching a lunch instead. We did that once before and really liked it, so I think I'm good with that. So long as they still have cupcakes - we didn't have any last time  and everyone on the DIS raves about them. Must try! ::yes::

Seeing how much Aria enjoyed the MSEP is making me second-guess my May schedule. We have the FoF parade for Izzy, but the MSEP is only on our solo MK nights, once she's asleep. Hmmmm. We'll see.

I am hoping they fix the app / make a new one soon. I deleted the apps off my phone & ipad because they just weren't working. Really annoying!
I had watched a podcast clip about the board change and they were VERY clear that they will NOT be making a new app (and the old was from an outside company and no longer will work). It's all about the advertising $$$ and they need it to keep the DIS running - an app wouldn't allow them to do what they need to. The site is designed in a responsive way (and they seem to be making additional improvements as needed), so it does work pretty well on mobile devices. In general, I hate posting from my phone on anything, so I rarely did that with the app and rarely do that now - but I have a lot easier time reading now than with the app. There's still room for improvement, but it hasn't been too bad for me. Oh, and I set an icon/shortcut on my phone's home screen (looks just like the app did) so that I can just click and it brings me directly to my "watched" threads.

*supposedly* they were looking at closing this loophole but I haven't read anything about them actually closing it, and it worked in October, too. I had so many FP's this trip because I was able to pre-book them on my MB, my DH's MB (he had the AP at that time), and then in the park was able to get 3 more on Aria's band (and despite Dugette's frustrations, I WAS able to change them around in my app).
I just checked the huge thread about that the other day and it appears the loophole is still going strong. :thumbsup2

I remember being able to change the ones I'd booked on Dug's band when we went in June, but it wouldn't allow me to change Izzy's in the app in August and I thought it said something about her not having a valid ticket.

For Aria's old band - is it linked to the same profile in MDE as her new band? If so, it probably won't work, since it would just be a clone of her new ticketed one. If not, then I'd think you'd be good to go. For sure the grandparent bands should work, unless they deactivated them or something (unlikely).

We'll be there at the same time! Hope you get some good ones! :goodvibes

Hahahaha I LOVE her nap times too, but on vacation (esp someplace like France) it makes it a bit harder to work around. Esp if we are talking about visiting museums that don't allow strollers, then we have to work around timing with that as well as meal times and low crowd times etc etc. When we were driving to Key West after the cruise we stopped at the Dolphin Research Center, and ended up leaving that pretty late (2:30 or so, much later than her usual nap time). She was fine, and fell asleep immediately once we got into the car, but 25 minutes later we wanted to stop and walk around this beautiful state park. So we woke her up. She was in a FOUL mood! LOL. Sooo it'd be nice if we could be more "spontaneous" in instances like that.

I keep looking at the couple on the left and thinking they must be fighting and she is giving him the evil eye.

Hahaha I totally missed that!

No fun at all. I thought I had once heard there was a parking garage there? Or is that what you were driving around?

Yeah it is a TINY parking garage, and the only other option is valet parking (which I would probably plan for if we ever stay there again). 20 minutes in of circling I was about to park in the illegal spots meant for the custodial crew, but ended up finding a spot clear on the other side - literally the LAST spot. IDK where others who arrived after me parked!

Really no fun at all. :sad2: I still don't know how you managed to do Disney on your own with a toddler while sick. :worship:

I was so thankful the day I was sick turned out to be fairly relaxing - all the time sitting waiting for the parade in the shade with those frozen lemonades will be forever remembered as a life saver!!

MMMM The cupcakes are so good. Lunch is good, dinner is amazing! :) Granted the glass of wine helps with the ambiance at dinner ;) Did you end up making an ADR for breakfast?? I didn't as we already have both MK mornings booked.

We don't have MSEP set in stone for May - but I hope to see it either on the 10th or the 11th, just depends on how things go.

Thanks for the info, and good idea for the shortcut!! That is an awesome idea.

Well that is good!! Yes, I got that error a couple times, but if I hit back and submit again it always worked? IDK.

Well I made a "new" Aria in my MDE! An Aria age 3. I didn't want to mess up my infant Aria when I was booking ressies for this May trip IN CASE we ended up going again before she turned 3...because it was either making me change her age or just add in a new person. So I have Aria infant with like 6 magic bands and then Aria age 3 who will have a couple more magic bands.

Side note - on the Disney cruise she got a really cool cruise magic band to use for the kids clubs. I tried linking that to MDE so she could use it in the parks and supposedly the technology is different and they don't work at the parks! Ugh! (I called Disney tech ppl to see). Boo!

I got far behind, but I'm all caught up! I love seeing all the pics of Aria having fun. She is such a little cutie pie! I'm still so shocked at how long she can sleep in the stroller. What I wouldn't give for a stroller nap again! lol

I will commiserate on you with the new DIS for a second. I had a lot of trouble at first with copying and pasting updates from Word, which has made it a lot harder for me to make updates frequently since I can't type up a bunch in advance like I used to.

We visited the DL equivalent of TSI on our trip, and Paxton really loved it! We will have to check it out in WDW next time, I'm sure.

Looking forward to more!!

Yeah I have sort of been putting off my next updates because I have to devote a lot more time to the updates now vs. just copying and pasting. It's annoying. I can't believe you are having a GIRL that is so awesome. Girls are great if I may say so!! ;) Paxton is a cutie pie too though and he is going to be such a great big brother!! You'll have to tell me how things go once the baby comes, hopefully we'll have a similar age difference between Aria and a future baby.

Sorry for a long delay in catching up, but I'm enjoying reading all your updates!

Also, I hope your appt wit the RE went well.

I have to say, all I could think about was how easy it would be to have another boy. But now that I know I'm having a girl, I'm just SO excited!! I have been a little nervous about the age difference, but I think it will be all good. He is eager to help out!!

Lol. I read that a few times too and was like, "What?!" Lol. My daughter just turned 3 and I am not looking forward to her dropping her naps. My son is 4 1/2 and still naps for 2 hours in the afternoon when he's home and not in preschool.

Boo about no app... I don't know why but I liked reading the threads from the app better. Although, with these new boards I can check the threads at work without having to stand by a window to get reception. Lol. They are not blocked by the work servers (yet) so I can check them out through the work wifi on my phone. Great idea about the shortcut on your phone! Maybe that will make my life a bit easier. :)

Where can I find this thread???

Thanks for letting me butt into your conversation! You guys sound a lot like me. I love Disney, have 2 little ones and go there several times a year (with & without my husband). We've been there this past September for the Halloween stuff & F&W, December for Xmas decorations, last January/February with a group of friends, just came back from Disneyland last month and I'm driving to Disney this Easter break with my sister, and then we have an August/September trip booked for later this year. And I've been reading your trip reports for planning ideas each trip since your touring style is so close to mine plus I love reading about Disney with kids!

Wow, you've got a ton of trips! I'm headed to bed, so just quick answer to your question about the thread on same-day FP+: http://www.disboards.com/threads/ma...-new-mde-see-post-227-before-posting.3245463/ Be warned that it's a long thread where people are going kind-of far off the deep end in some cases. Personally, I can't imagine going to the lengths that some are to get extra FP+ at the kiosks. However, using my kid's band to get a few extra FP+ for her to enjoy? Eh, seems fair - she has things she wants to do too. :confused3

I don't think it is too big of an age difference, though my original intended difference was 2 years which obv didn't happen. We'd be totally 100% happy with either (though I did have a dream that we were pregnant, were told it was a girl and I signed relieved bc, as you said, it's a bit easier to deal with the same gender again, then in the delivery room I had a BOY and had no clue what to do!) lol!

I'm so glad you did!! I would be neat if an upcoming trip coincided and we could meet up! So you've brought both kids by yourself or that is happening soon? I absolutely LOVE my trips with just Aria, I find them to be way easier than with DH along LOL!

Yeah I haven't really delved into that thread too deep, I've seen some interesting comments though. As you mentioned, some methods are pretty extreme and I'm sure there have been some people reading my TR's shaking their head and unfollowing as they read about the extra FP's - but it is what it is.

Thank you! Hope you are feeling well, too :) :) RE appointment went great. Doctor is on the same page and couldn't believe what my old RE (who I saw in the summer) did & didn't do. We are back on track and I'm hopeful things will turn around soon.

That would be nice! My December trip was with my sister and her 2 kids. So it was the 2 of us and a 2 year old, 3 year old, 4 year old & 7 year old. We had a blast! So much so that we are doing it again in a little over a week. Lol. But this time we are driving. (Eeek!) I live in NY so it's about an 18 hour drive or so. I've done it before with my kids but this is my sister's first time so we'll see how it goes. Normally we get flights for around $100 each way but with it being spring break, we just couldn't do the $400 each way flights. So we got a minivan rental for $600 and Road trip it is! We're not doing the parks since they'll be so crowded and we were just there not long ago so instead we're staying at Coronado Springs and enjoying the pool, and doing all the things we never have time to do on our usual trips like the resort activities, the marshmallow roasts, movies under the stars, tons of pool time, etc.

Anyway, I'm rambling now. Haha! Can't wait for your next update!

Ahhh well that should be a blast!! Crazy how the flights fluctuate, from Providence our prices are usually in the $80-100 each way range so not bad at all. But I guess times 6 and it starts to make sense to drive! It's nice to have the time to spend at the resort and do those sorts of things - maybe visit the Boardwalk for a Surrey rental or boat rental?

I am so excited for May as Aria will get to go to the water parks for the first time. I just paid for a Polar Patio rental as a surprise for my friend at Blizzard Beach. I love being able to visit and do tons of new things EVERY time! It's awesome.

Yes yes, I need to start working on the next day LOL! I keep putting it off due to all the extra time it entails now... :)

Sorry I've been MIA! Life has gotten in the way of the DIS and I am so far behind on all the TRs I've been following (as well as my own!). Going back now to catch up...

Lol! Paxton told me one morning a few weeks ago he had a dream about the baby and I asked him like 3 times if it was a boy or a girl in his dream (hey he could be having a premonition or something, right?) but he kept saying it was just a baby. Lol the ultrasound tech would only say "I think it's a girl" so I made DH keep all of the receipts for the clothes we bought this weekend! Haha. The benefit of working for the hospital and knowing people is that she told me since she couldn't get a good 3d/4d picture I can go back in a few weeks for a better one. So hopefully she can say with more certainty that it's definitely a girl!!! Lol

Whew, I'm all caught up now!

First of all, I'm glad things went well with the RE - I hope that things happen quickly for you guys. It must feel exciting to feel like you are on the right track!

Your May plans look great. That is a looong trip. It sounds like you'll get to experience so much, plus have plenty of time for relaxing. :thumbsup2

Be our Guest looks like such a great dinner. We haven't made it there yet, so I think reservations are still hard to get. I feel really out of the loop and kind of pathetic admitting this, but until I read your recap, I had no idea they served wine there!

I love the pictures of Aria enjoying the MSEP. Some of my favorite Rory pictures are of him watching that parade in awe when he was 9 months old.

Ahhh I hate that - I want an US tech that is 100% sure LOL!! Hope you get back in there soon, the 3D pics are really neat too.

Yeah it is going to be a long trip!! 11 nights - usually I go between 7-10. I look forward to lots of pool time and relax time when we can though. Hahahha you must have missed all the threads about how upset Walt would be that there is alcohol served in the MK now!

Sunday – August 31st – Frozen Summer Fun full day at DHS
I’ve been putting off this update mainly because it isn’t much fun remembering how sick I was this day and also because the overall memories from the day are fairly sparse – I took it very easy aside from doing the Frozen Summer Fun stuff. This day was an “extra” day (our original day we were flying home) but I added it so we could experience all of the frozen fun! Dugette was also here this weekend so we planned to do many of the events from the day together.
At one point during the week I almost grabbed another H&V breakfast for this day because of how much fun Aria had there – BUT thank goodness I did not keep it and instead I did make it for rope drop.
Then our first order of the day was to head to Oaken’s Trading Post. Unfortunately this also meant walking with the TSMM craziness which was INSANE and the hot walk + many people and I had to first stop in the bathroom before going into Oaken’s.

We were the first ones inside though and headed straight for the snow play area. The feeling of snow on my forehead was amazing! Definitely a good place to cool down for a bit. Aria really enjoyed building with the snow and I was semi-present to help her do so. Dugette had gotten side tracked by Woody and they didn’t make it into Oaken’s in time to play when we did, so we said hello as I was leaving and I saw her standing in line with Izzy. At this point I was already envisioning leaving after the upcoming 11AM parade and possibly making it back for the Frozen Fireworks, BUT the only thing that stopped me was my 1st row parking spot and how I’d have to schlep from the back of the parking lot if I came back later (that walk is NOT fun!).

Empty ice skating area, decided not to rent skates and do this.

We were making a fortress of some sort

We also stopped for some photopass pictures –

Anyway from there I decided to go straight to the reserved parade area and check in for the Frozen Summer Fun Premium Package! Dugette and I both did this and it included a reserved area with drinks & ice cream snacks for the 11AM royal welcome, reserved tickets to the Frozen sing a long show and a reserved area for the Frozen fireworks with a dessert party. I think I paid around $65 total (and Aria was still free, woohoo!) and thought it was completely worth it.
For one, the reserved area for the parade was in the SHADE! Combine that with Mickey ice cream bars, and the most amazing thing I would eat today – frozen lemonade which REALLY helped my stomach, and I was happy to sit and relax there for a good 50 minutes or so before the parade even started. Aria was very happy too of course!

Here is what our lanyards looked like:

We had some stage entertainment with Olaf while we waited

It’s going to be weird seeing DHS without the hat!
Not too long after we arrived, Dugette and Izzy found us and sat down with us. Izzy really enjoyed her mickey ice cream bar!

And Aria was happy to have a friend!

shortly before the parade started this guy came by asking if the kids wanted a snowball…then he threw water at them! LOL

We also got more frozen lemonade

The parade came along and while short was really cute. Aria loved waving to everyone and it was neat to see Kristoff.

At this point I tried to get rid of excess trash since everyone was going to squeeze towards the stage, as Anna and Elsa did a little skit up there and we all got to sing a few songs.
Quick selfie

Our next stop was TSMM for which we had a FP! We all rode together and Aria really enjoyed playing along this time, though the spinning wasn’t doing me any good.

Then we all headed over to lunch at 50’s Prime Time. I had decided at this point I’d just stay and take it REALLY easy (because you know, that hot walk from the parking lot sounded like torture)… so we went to lunch and I didn’t know if I would eat anything. The kids had fun in the waiting area!
I don’t know if we ever got a photo of all 4 of us in our Olaf shirts?!!

I requested a TV table and shortly after our arrival we were seated right at one! It was perfect.

Even better, I saw Chicken Noodle Soup on the menu – how perfect is that?! I was excited to try and eat a little of it, so that is all I ordered, along with the chicken nuggets for Aria.

Dugette tried the appetizer platter (and she shared her grapes and apples with the hungry girls!) and meatloaf

And the kids meal came with ice cream sundae which aria was happy to share with Izzy.

Playing peek a boo

Overall the meal was a hit. Our server was okay – he did yell at us a few times for elbows on the table but other than that no crazy antics, but today I was not in the mood for that anyway.

After lunch it was nap time for Aria so I quickly laid her back and covered her up, and Dugette had a FP for ToT so we strolled to one of the shops on Hollywood Blvd and I stayed and watched the girls (no way was I getting on ToT or RnRC today). Izzy wasn’t asleep yet and kept playing with things- first the Frozen lanyard so I put that under the stroller and then her cute shoes, so I took those away too LOL! She fell asleep before Dugette got back though so guess that worked. I was sort of in the way constantly in the shop, and kept moving backwards 5 feet then forward, but overall it was just nice to be in AC.
Then Dugette and Izzy headed over to EPCOT and we relaxed at DHS...
