If you won the sweepstakes running this January that allows you one night in the castle suite... when would you want to go.
Question…when you stay in the castle does that allow you to walk around the MK anytime? or are you 'confined to the castle after hours?"
Sooo would you want to book say in May when they do MK 24 hours, or say sometime when there are EMH til 1am? OR would you want to book when the MK closes at 8pm or earlier so you can have the quiet magic with your loved one?
The reason I ask is because I'm expecting to win!

Reports I read during the Year of a Million Dreams stated that winners were confined to the apartment after park closing. They had a butler to see to their needs. Makes sense, since Disney wouldn't want them wandering around and getting in the way of all of the workers during the night shift.

That's what I've seen too - after the park closes, the guests are confined to the suite. So it will likely depend on how much time you want to spend actually inside the suite.

So I wonder how they would handle if the winner picked a party season. Would they need to buy a party ticket just to get to their suite before 2 AM or would they be allowed in free?

ok mini mum
I thought you didnt agree with anything I've ever posted?
So my question is..
If I win and the park closes at 9pm… can I not go to the poly for a rum drink at 9pm?
so obviously i can enter and reenter the MK from the front gate to the castle 24 hours..
I think its an interesting question. no?
Where's the cave man? When we need him?

I don't think you can leave and re-enter on a whim, and that when the park closes you're essentially confined to the suite. The butler will see that you get what you need/want, but I doubt they'd let the winners wander the park at all hours of the night. There are teams of maintenance and housekeeping crews working all night and guests wandering around would produce a possible hazard.

Sorry no. You can't leave the suite. You can send the butler to get you stuff, but I don't know if they wil go get you a rum drink from the Poly.

I would tend to think that if the MK closes at 9pm and you want to go get a pineapple thing at the Poly you sure as mickey WOULD BE ALLOWED to exist said castle and renter the castle as many time as you want for as long as the last disney venue closes..2am? 24hrs?

Nope. They won't let you go wander around MK after it closes. If you are out past closing at all you will be escorted by CMs.

As far as exiting and entering the park, the rules are the same as any other park guest. At closing you will be confined to the Suite.

How would you get back and forth? Monorails aren't running, and buses stop running. Are you going to swim to the Poly?

Truth is, staying in the suite would probably be very anticlimactic except for the beauty of the suite itself. While it might seem "neat" to roam around the MK, all you would see is the magic-destroying back story of street sweepers, pressure hoses, repair work and the like. About as interesting as roaming around a big office building at 10:00 pm when the cleaning crew is doing their thing. There would be nothing magical about the MK whatsoever once the lights, music, guests and cast members vacate the premises.

These points are all moot to me, as I can't imagine why in the world someone would want to leave the suite. If I get a once in a lifetime chance to spend a night in that suite, I'm milking it for all it's worth. The Poly will always have drinks, but you only get one shot at the castle. Just my 2 cents.

We would stay in the castle on December 18th, our youngest DD birthday. Can you imagine saying you spent the night of your birthday in Cinderella's Castle? We always go during spring break because it doesn't get in the way of school, which usually falls on our oldest DD birthday. My youngest DD always wants to know when we'll go on her birthday. Four years of celebrating her sister's birthday in WDW. We didn't have plans to go this year but if I win this it would be an amazing surprise for her! :cloud9:

Oh and we would totally kick back in the castle with no need to leave at all after park hours. Why would we want to?

Nope. Looks like I'm still batting 1000 where that's concerned. If the park closes, and you aren't inside the gates, you aren't getting back in. You cannot come and go through the park gates after hours as you please. I don't know why you think you could.

I'm sure the butler could come up with a lapu lapu if you were that desperate for one. Better yet, spend the rest if your nights at the Poly and fill up on them then.

Or stay in the suite on the night the park is open 24 hours. Then you could come and go as you please.

just using the rum drink at the poly as an example..say for example that the MK closed at 7 or 8pm and there was EMH at Epcot til say 11 etc…and you got back to the CR and walked back to the MK at 11: 30 0r 12am ..what are they gonna say? "No you can't come in the MK gate and go sleep in your castle suite because the MK is closed?
I'm just saying I can't imagine on staying in the castle and being confined when you may be partying on property and looking forward to going to bed before the clock strikes twelve. can't imaging them saying …NO

We stayed in the castle in 2008 for the year of a million dreams. When the MK closed we were to call the butler if we needed anything. My husband had to be at work at 6an the next morning, he was escorted out of the castle and driven to the GF to get his car. The night we stayed it was a MNSSHP night, we went to the party and were back in the suite by 9:00. I figured that was a once In a lifetime experience no way I was leaving that room:)

Now I'm curious, did they escort him by a car from the castle, or thru a back stage area, or was he escorted out the front gate towards the buses where he was driven over to the GF?

Dude. You are confined to the suite once MK closes. Maybe they let you come into MK after closing and escort you to your suite in the castle, if you've been at another park. Maybe. But I highly doubt it. They certainly won't allow you to come and go as you please.

Agree with the PP who said why would you want to leave the suite? Bring your own booze and have a party in your suite. That's kind of the point.

Side note- I'd be happy with just a tour.

Are you trolling? You asked a question ("when you stay in the castle does that allow you to walk around the MK anytime? or are you 'confined to the castle after hours?"), have received legitimate answers (and FYI, every single response has been that you will, in fact, be confined to the castle after the park closes) but you still flat out refuse to accept it because it's not what you want to hear. Why even ask the question when you've already made up your mind about what Disney's policies actually are? :confused3

Furthermore, why would you want to spend your time "partying" into the wee hours when you have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to stay in the castle? I'm sure there are literally thousands of people who would have a deeper appreciation for the experience and not cause a fuss because they have a curfew.
