Getting fit & losing weight before our next 2015 Disney trip!

Hello, quick update...

My name is Flav and I'd like to be in the same shape for my fourth family trip to WDW in April 2015 as on my first in 2009.

Still at 155 pound down from 158 pound and trying to achieve 148... Which is totally acceptable to me considering the Halloween factor!

Have a healthy week

I lost nothing this week. Stayed exactly the same. A little disappointed. I did probably eat 10-20 points over because of Halloween candy, but that is maybe 1,000 extra calories over a week, so I was thinking maybe I would still have a small loss...

So 4 weeks of doing pretty good on WW and 5.8 pounds down.

Anyhow, back at it again. Going to try to keep away from that little piece of candy here or there. I really want to lose at least 3 pounds in the next two weeks leading up to Thanksgiving.

Hi all! Sorry I've haven't been around much the last couple of weeks. I've had some health issues, but I'm here now and ready to get back in the fight. I'm waiting a week to get on the scale so I don't discourage myself. I'll post my results next Friday. I'm going to read all the posts I missed. It's good to see everyone at it...it's very encouraging!

Well I hope everyone's weekends went better than mine. To make a long story short Friday I went 250 under my maintain goal instead of 500 because of a bad choice with chocolate while running errands, then Saturday I made manicotti and ate so much I felt like I was going to pop and went way over my maintain calories...then yesterday I went through the normal thought of I need to get back to this tomorrow, but I am happy to report that I thought it through and realized that tomorrow never comes, I forgave myself and started right that minute and had a wonderful day yesterday. So I fell off and got back on right away. I am not proud of my behavior Saturday, however I am proud that I realized the downward spiral I was about to hit and corrected it.

How was everyone else's weekend?

Hugs to you, finny! That's all we can do, live and learn. I have those moments all the time, unfortunately. I had a great 2-hour yoga dance class yesterday, but then I was starving and bought peanut butter cookies and ate 5 of them! :confused3 But then I cooked a healthy dinner. And now I feel like I'm back on track today.

Hope everyone has a great week! :goodvibes

Congrats, finny! :thumbsup2

I didn't have a great week and gained 2.4 pounds. But I know what I need to improve on, I need to move more and make healthier food choices. So that's my goal for this next week, even with 4 days at Disney World starting on Sunday! :yay: I'm going to allow 1-2 small indulgences each day, and I'm going to fit in intentional exercise. I'll do a trip report when I'm back, including dining details. My goal is to find healthy eats across the World! :)

Hugs! Just keep movin on and correcting things as you go. It's a work in process, always learning and improving!

Have fun in DW and I can wait to hear about your healthy eating around the World!

Awesome job Finny!!

Have a great trip Dreamseeker! Look forward to hearing about it when you get back :goodvibes

Congrats Finny!

So I had a not stellar weeks last week. I didn't really go overboard or anything, but I ended up in urgent care with my youngest son (he was fine, but it made it hard to plan my meals)...so I didn't count points for 3 days and I only exercised 4 days (vs. 5-6 that I have been doing).

So after all that...I lost more weight than I've lost in weeks (1.8 lbs). :confused3

So my total is 73.2/100

Congrats on the weight loss even if it is a mystery :)

Thanks everyone! He is 26 months old and had a fever of 105.1. We never found a real cause, just treated with Tylenol/Advil until it went away a few days later. :confused3

Exercise has been hard with the cold. We haven't had a treadmill in a few years and no gym membership, so it is hard when running outside isn't possible. I have been doing the DVDs, though. I also have stuff to make "zero" point soup in the slow cooker that I need to prep tonight.

This week I am down 0.6 for a total of 73.8/100. One more weigh-in before Thanksgiving. Let's get to work

Well I thought I had a really good week this past week, but when I stepped on the scale I lost nothing...:confused3

I guess I don't really understand how this works lol. Onward toward the goal regardless of what last week held it is a new week!

Oh I got a fitness tracker over the weekend and I really like it, but it did show me my lack of steps in a day is more profound than I had originally thought. So I have to start working on that somehow. It's just with the truly winter weather we are having up here right now outside is not so much of an option, so I guess I need to get more creative with this.

Hi finny! Are you tracking calories? That always helps me, though I haven't been good about it lately, which probably helps explain why I haven't been losing. :sad1:

What kind of fitness tracker did you get? I got a FitBit One, I really like it. I live in a small apartment, but if I'm close to 10,000 steps in a day, I'll pace around the apartment in the evening. I doubt it's the most effective, exercise-wise, but it feels good to hit that number.

I just returned from WDW - 4 days of fun, but man are my legs and feet sore and tired! I know losing weight will help with that, so that's even more motivation to lose as I plan for my 40th birthday celebration at WDW next September with family and friends.

I only gained 1 pound this past week, and I think some of that may be water weight from flying, so I'm good with that. I did well with some of the eating, not so great with other parts. I'll start a trip report and will include food info. I did find some good healthy food offerings.

Here's a summary of my steps each day, it was fun to wear my FitBit and track them!
Day 1 - traveling, MK & EPCOT - 27,311 steps
Day 2 - EPCOT, BC/YC, DHS - 21,482 steps
Day 3 - Contemporary, GF, WL, then MK - 28,242 steps!
Day 4 - EPCOT, traveling home - 18,554 steps

I am tracking calories using myfitnesspal and I currently have it set at lose 1 pound per week, but I stay under that by at least 200 a day and I track EVERYTHING! The only issue I sometimes have is when I make a recipe I sometimes have a hard time with how many servings there are. We are a family of six so meals are big and measuring a cup at a time sometimes does not work. I do try to use something (a bowl or something like that) to measure and get a pretty close estimate on the servings so I think I am pretty good on that. Although my sodium intake leaves a lot of room for improvement...I am often over on that quite a bit.

I got a jawbone up24 and I love it, I am a little obsessed with the sleep tracker lol but like I said my daily steps leave a lot of room for improvement, but I do work in accounting which is at my desk 95% of the time.

1 pound after 4 days at WDW is definitely an accomplishment. With all the yummy food it is easy to gain quite a bit there.

Weighed in early because of the holidays and I am down 2 more pounds making me 16/40 right before the holiday. I am trying very hard to make it through tomorrow fairly well...

I do know that I am a stress eater and that stress has been very high the past few days. It started Monday when I went to lunch for work and apparently sometime between lunch and 5 I lost my van keys which also had DH's extra truck key on them. So I was stuck at work until 6:30 when DH could bring me my extra. Then yesterday I was off work so I took my van to the repair shop to get an estimate because it has been acting funny, I told them I needed it back by 6 that night (when they close) so I could come to work today and they said no problem. Then the stupid thing decided to blow the coolant line when they took it for a drive and the little plastic part that broke is almost $200 by itself without labor and coolant and they couldn't get the part until today so...DH had to bring me into work this morning and will have to leave work to pick me up. But worst of all I have a huge repair bill and it doesn't even cover the issue I was having when I went in...so all of DH's Disney overtime from the past two weeks and then some more from the Disney fund are going to fix that and I still have the original problem :(

It can only get better right? :)
